We recently visited Nha Trang as a port of call whilst on a cruise from Australia. We looked at doing a shore excursion through the cruise company whilst in Nha Trang but after talking to friends we decided to do our own thing and were very lucky to have Dat from Vietnam Real Travel recommended to us.
Dat is a very professional tour guide and a real 'nice guy'. I contacted him directly through his web page, and he replied immediately to our inquiry. As we were limited on time, and really not sure what there was to see in and around Nha Trang, we left it to Dat to recommend places and things that we should see and do whilst there.
We were not disappointed, we had a wonderful time with Dat, and he managed to ensure that we saw lots during our day with him, but we certainly were not made to feel rushed. We visited a local orphanage run by the nuns, and had a game with the children which was lovely, as well we saw the local countryside, stopping along the way to see how the Vietnamese conical hats are made as well as rice paper used in the making of the wonderful Vietnamese spring rolls that we enjoyed in a local restaurant
After lunch we also visited some of the city sights of Nha Trang, including Long Son Pagoda, and Nha Trang Cathedral.
Nothing was too much trouble for Dat, he picked us up as arranged, got us back to the ship on time, spoke fantastic English, and he designed a day trip for us that gave us a little bit of everything.
After talking to Dat, we now know that he does cooking classes as well as tours all over Vietnam, something for us to think about! Thanks Dat for a great day, we wish we all the very best.
