Dat speaks very good English and bring us visit a few places beyond the tourist part of Nha Trang.

We have both meat lover and vegetarian in the tour and Dat can accommodate both in the same class.

Cooking in his garden is amazing.

He can customize dishes according to your requirement.

Had a wonderful morning with lovely people.

What a fantastic day we had with Dat. We were a large group of friends and Dat organized a bus to pick us up from the port and take us on a fantastic tour of Nha Trang. We saw everything from factories to farm life. Dat has a fantastic way with people. He knows exactly what you want to see and do. One of the highlights was lunch at his restaurant - Same, same but different. We had some very fussy eaters amongst us but he managed to make sure they had something they would eat. My dream is to go back someday and do a cooking class with Dat. I can't recommend Dat enough. From the first email to when he dropped us back to the ship, everything was perfect. Thanks Dat for your patience with our group.,

We recently visited Nha Trang as a port of call whilst on a cruise from Australia. We looked at doing a shore excursion through the cruise company whilst in Nha Trang but after talking to friends we decided to do our own thing and were very lucky to have Dat from Vietnam Real Travel recommended to us.

Dat is a very professional tour guide and a real 'nice guy'. I contacted him directly through his web page, and he replied immediately to our inquiry. As we were limited on time, and really not sure what there was to see in and around Nha Trang, we left it to Dat to recommend places and things that we should see and do whilst there.

We were not disappointed, we had a wonderful time with Dat, and he managed to ensure that we saw lots during our day with him, but we certainly were not made to feel rushed. We visited a local orphanage run by the nuns, and had a game with the children which was lovely, as well we saw the local countryside, stopping along the way to see how the Vietnamese conical hats are made as well as rice paper used in the making of the wonderful Vietnamese spring rolls that we enjoyed in a local restaurant

After lunch we also visited some of the city sights of Nha Trang, including Long Son Pagoda, and Nha Trang Cathedral.

Nothing was too much trouble for Dat, he picked us up as arranged, got us back to the ship on time, spoke fantastic English, and he designed a day trip for us that gave us a little bit of everything.

After talking to Dat, we now know that he does cooking classes as well as tours all over Vietnam, something for us to think about! Thanks Dat for a great day, we wish we all the very best.

Walked the wet market to get the fresh ingredients. Visited the rice noodle sme factory, coconut stall, and the mat maker along the way. Had a great laugh as the cooking class commence. Delicious menus as a byproduct from our cooking class.

Chef Dat is fluent in English and has the kindest personality

Strongly recommend!

Great way to learn about cooking and Vietnamese life from Chef Dat. The tour and instruction were both very informative and the class being held in the garden at Chef Dat's home added to the experience. Definitely recommend as good value and fun.

I travel very widely and cooking is a passion. I’ve been to cookery lessons in many places... from rick stein and Raymond blanc to back street house kitchens in Thailand where I’ve asked to watch..
Chef Dat and his tour have been accurately described by others that have loved it. For me it was fantastic. I had great answers to any questions. I was the only native English speaker in a group with Korean guests, we were joking and having a great time while cooking and eating by the end.. (chef St is multi lingual!) By the end I had seen lots, asked lots and been inspired by chef dat. My next dinner guests in the uk are going to be as happy I did this as I am! If you are a keen amateur/developing professional chef you’ll pick up on things that will stay with you forever. If you’re a novice, it’ll be an amazing day and make you realise you can cook some of the best tasting food in the world too! The rest of the tour is a fantastic cultural experience too...! Could you tell the difference between basil/sweet basil/mint/in a market full of so many other smells... I challenge you!! You’ll love it and it’ll remove you from the beach for an am/pm...
Enjoy!

This was the second time we did Chef Dat's cooking class. Last time was in 2016 and as soon as we booked a cruise again that went to Nha Trang, his was the first contact I made to see if we could repeat the experience. It was even better the second time around. We were able to visit the local markets this time ( in 2016 markets were closed due to the holiday) and it was great fun to have Chef Dat explain and buy local produce and meat for our meal. We visited the noodle factory and weaving again and also the local farms before going to his kitchen. Our meal was excellent. Cooking and enjoying a delicious meal followed. Chef Dat really enjoys sharing his love for food, cooking, and his culture. It was a pleasure to see Chef Dat again. If anyone is looking for a different kind of "tour" experience that represents a true Vietnamese experience, this is for you.

Dat drove us around in his very clean comfortable car.

We had a wonderful day visiting local bakery, noodle factory and basket weaving. Dat explained the Vietnamese cultural and was happy to answer any of our questions.

We purchased all the ingredients from the local market which was completely different from Australia and a great experience.

Food was absolutely wonderful. My husband and 16 year old son are big eaters and they were stuffed.

Dat catered for non seafood eaters. We made pork spring rolls which were my favourite. Fresh noodles were amazing too.

His kitchen was very clean. Dining area was outside and very comfortable and relaxing. Gardens surrounding were lovely.

Totally recommend doing cooking class as it included cooking, local culture, site seeing and the best food.

Thank you very much Dat.

This is a fantastic authentic, tasty and local Vietnamese experience which my whole family enjoyed (24 year and 11 year old). Thoroughly recommend!

Dat designed the menu around our favourite Vietnamese dishes and took us to a small local market outside of the city centre where we bought fresh seafood, meat, herbs and vegetables.

The cooking class is in a lovely outdoor kitchen outside his family home, surrounded by flowers and trees, with fresh herbs and vegetables growing. We cut a papaya off a tree for our salad.

Everyone got involved in the food preparation and cooking and we had a delicious meal of spring rolls, papaya salad, BBQ meats, seafood rice and watermelon juice and beers. Some of the tastiest food we’ve eaten - and we cooked it ourselves!

Dat is a lovely person, speaks very good English and is very knowledgeable about food, Nha Trang and Vietnam.

The tour included trips to small bakery, noodle factory, we drank Vietnamese coffee and fresh coconut - but the highlight was cooking outdoors. Thank you Dat!
