About
Nha Trang Fun divers operating in Vietnam since 2012. Since then and until now, we proudly scored awesome feedback from our guests. We dedicate our best understanding and passion for scuba diving and the underwater to our visitors. We do daily diving and freediving trips to the national marine park at Hon Mun and the famous Electric Noise. Our dive boat is 18 meters long, and equipped with all basic safety devices and medical oxygen. Our aim is to have small groups and give the best adequate instructor per student or guide per divers ratio on our trips. Our main business is the dive school. We teach Try Scuba diving- a one-day programme for non-certified beginners, and subsequent diving courses such as Open Water Diver, Advanced Open Water, Enriched Air NITROX, rescue and pro-level courses. Certified divers can enjoy the muck and macro biodiversity of Marine Park.

You guys made my stay in Nha Trang a great time. Thank you!

I had decided to spend my vacation in Ho Chi Minh City. I heard that Vietnam has beautiful beaches, so I took a ticket to Nha Trang three days before my trip.
I didn't plan to go scuba diving, but the sea made me want to dive. Since it was close to the hotel where I was staying, I stopped by “Nha Trang Fun Divers” with Google MAP. They checked if I could make a reservation even though they were probably already out of business hours. So I was able to come aboard the next day and enjoy two fun dives.

In the water and on the boat, they were professional.
They took very good care, in the water, repeatedly checked with me to see how much air I had left, and made every effort to make sure I was having a good time on the boat.

(Once, when diving in a Maldives resort, the guide only looked back three times while scuba diving. Despite the drift diving! That kind of experience makes me nervous when it's the first shop I use, but this time I felt safe from the very beginning. I thought he was very sincere because he let me know in advance that hotel pick-up time was going to be 10 minutes late and he also chatted to me when he was almost there.)

The sea in Nha Trang was calm and warm, perfect for a refreshing dive. I'm actually not that interested in macro, but I enjoyed the underwater world for the first time in five years. The guide found such small creatures and showed us many of them. Very good guide.
I think it's an interesting sea with many attractions, not only macro but also caves.Next time I come back, I want to dive another site.

Dove with this guys two days in a row. Such an amazing team. Friendly staff, the best dive masters, top dive sites for a very fair price. It certainly made my week in Nha Trang!
Thank you everyone for the experience.
Hopefully will see you soon guys.
All the best,

In March 2014 I spent a few days in Nha Trang. Beforehand I did a little research about the local dive bases and decided for Nha Trang Fun Divers due to the friendly response. Specific requests for information about schedule and especially the boat dives were informative answered without hesitation via email. Hamit as head of the dive center answered always prompt and purposeful.
The dive sites of Nha Trang are located in the Hon Mun Marine Park and offer different dive experiences: beautifully structured reef landscapes, caverns and steep walls. I perceived all the dive sites to be extremely clean, intact and invigorated. The prevailing visibility at the time of >25 m have certainly helped. My favorite spot (as for so many others ) is Madonna Rock located off the northeast tip of the Hon Mun Island.
Nha Trang Fun Divers despite of its professionalism (here I mention especially the stress-free organization, well-maintained rental equipment and the informative briefings) offers a pleasant and familiar atmosphere. We dived in small groups with well trained local guides. Special thanks go to Binh with whom I experienced some great and relaxed dives. Several times he called my attention to reef species, which I would not have found or noticed .
Dive sites will be reached by a half an hour boat ride off the coast of Nha Trang. I have never observed the crew in hustle and the boat overcrowded, but always in a relaxed and friendly atmosphere. In addition to a typical Asian rice or pasta dish for lunch a steady supply with fruits, water and Vietnamese coffee is included.
I felt very well cared for at all times, met intersting and friendly people and spent very nice dive holidays. Therefore I deeply recommend Nha Trang Fun Divers without restiction.

we went to the shop in the center of the tourist area and met hamit to the owner. he was very friendly and helpful so we booked 2 fun dives for the next day. they picked us up the next morning in time. on the boat we met some other people. we said a friendly good morning but no response. they ignored us completely all day. no word spoken. we asked the staff about and they told us they were Russians and they are like that.
how strange. we left the port and our vietnamese dive master called us to the back side of the boat to check our equipment. it was assembled already so we started to check . everything looked good but the air coming out of the regulator was smelling very strange so we asked the dive master about it. he took the regulator and released about 30 bar out of our tanks. then he told us to smell again.
the air was smelling ok now ,but we had only 160 bar left in our tanks. we were a bit worry but the dive master responded that they have this problem every day and they not yet found out the reason for the bad air.
the dive briefing was very basic with no informations how deep and how long to dive and with no safety regulations.
well the dive was beautiful with a great visibility but only 40 minutes.
we went diving again the next day but with a other dive center.

After using WhatsApp to contact the dive team all week, and booking 2 days before for my Fun Dives, no information was passed regarding the time of pick up or destination until very late the night before.

Pick up was on time in the morning and staff were nice and friendly.
My instructor was enthusiastic even having been there for 10 years already.

Unfortunately, the dives were poor with visibility of about 0.2m, which can’t be helped by the dive team. People were given the option of not completing the second dive, so some chose not to.
We unfortunately continued at around 17.5m deep, even in the poor visibility, instead of coming further up to see more. This meant we had to hold onto the person in front and stay in a line to be able to know where we were going.

Second dive visibility Improved up-to 1m.

Food was provided on the boat which was a nice touch.

The instructors weren’t aware of what the SSI verification code was and had never seen the SSI app before, but WhatsApp the centre afterwards and someone was able to help.

As a Advanced Open Water Diver safety is the first thing I look for, followed by fun/"scenic" dive sites and knowledgeable Dive Masters/Instructors in the company I dive with. Definitely a big tick against each of those criteria with Jack (Nguyen) and colleagues.
Boat is well fitted out (safety, welfare and comfort for divers and non-divers alike. A good supply of food and hot/cold drinks are made available throughout the dive.
I was particularly impressed by the fact that they took time to try to clear as much plastic and rubbish as they could both during and between dives. The oceans and seas are sadly so polluted now it would be great to see ALL dive companies make this almost mandatory part of their packages.
Jack had an uncanny ability to find plenty to point out to me during the dive, took great photos and then shared them by DropBox.The reefs around the island Ho Mun are in pretty good shape - still plenty of soft and hard corals as well as a good selection of fish and crustaceans.
Can't recommend these guys and the diving off Mun highly enough...

Did the Fun Dive option for open water divers. We joined a Chinese tour group who were doing the Try Scuba Diving option so we were left to our own devices which suited us. Our dive guide was great and offered to take photos for 15USD extra which I recommend.

The diving in Nha Trang was good but not great. Having dived throughout the Pacific Islands the diving in Nha Trang does not rank with the likes of Tonga or Samoa. A lot of the coral in the area has died effecting the marine life. A good variety of marine life can still be seen including eel, clams and nudi branches. Our max depth was 12m and the dive gear provided is fine.

Everything was smooth, from hotel pickup, lunch on the boat and dive site transit (around 45mins). The boat ride is comfortable as the sea state tends to be pretty calm.

Would recommend this option for beginners or if you simply want to tick Vietnam off your dive list.

My wife and I were in Nha Trang during the luna new years time, we expected there would be a rush of tourists in the city given the holiday period. When we saw this "small group" tour, we signed up because we thought we could ease our mind a bit where small groups typically gets more attention by tour guides. The signup process was smooth with TA and emails we got all seemed really professional, asked our height, weight and shoe sizes, and reminded us of brining the electronic voucher AND our passports, sounded very legit and close attention to detail right? Although I was pretty reluctant to bring passports on a tour like this, but since it was requested we did anyway. We were supposed to be picked up at the hotel at 7:10, but no one showed up at 7:10, I called the contact provided and was told the driver will be a bit late. At 7:30 a taxi pulled up, and I received a call, where the person that had just got off the taxi was the one picking us up. He didn't explain what happened, but seeing there were two other passengers in the taxi, we thought this must be the small group. We got to the pier and was greeted by a guide, and two other guests joined us and we waited on the boat. The guide gave us a brief introduction of the boat and the day's activities, and told us we had to wait for other guests to join us. A few minutes later about 30 other guests got on the boat, and the once spacious boat became super jammed. Apparently they were from a different tour group and we were just sharing the boat! The other group's tour guide gave his guests quite a detailed instruction on how to dive, although he was extremely loud we had to move to the back of the boat (same with our other "small group" tour buddies from Australia) to try to relax a little. Our tour guide did not tell us how to snorkel (using the equipment and how to breath), he just pointed out the area we could swim when we got to the first location. I have never snorkelled before, and I thought how hard could it be right (the tour guide did not ask us whether we have snorkelled before). Once I got into the water I knew I was in trouble, because I had no idea how to breath through the snorkelling gear. I actually felt like drowning and had to swim back to the boat and luckily my wife has done this before and she gave me a detail lesson on how to breath through the gear. Our tour guide was with another guest whom was doing diving, so basically the four of us (my wife and I and the two Australian couple) were on our own. One of the tour guides from the other group was actually really nice, he went into the water with me the second time I went in and made sure I was using the gears ok, and actually gave some good pointers, which really helped me a lot. We snorkelled at two locations, my wife said they were actually really good because we could see a lot of corals (she told me typically one would need to dive to see those). Although I had no reference but I thought what I saw were beautiful. The snorkelling time was ample, about 1 hr for each location. After the second location lunch was served on the boat. It was pretty amazing the boat crew made several dishes in the tiny kitchen, and they tasted pretty homey. However, I would not call it a "buffet lunch", as the dishes were just served on plates, like a normal Chinese meal, with two sets so 30+ people could be fed. The same nice tour guide from the other group thought we were too shy and brought us bowls of rice. As majority of the people from the other tour did diving, the lineup for the washroom was very long. We got back to shore around 2pm, and this time there was a shuttle bus to take us back to the hotel. The misrepresentation of "small group", the lack of attentiveness of the tour guide, the inaccuracy of "buffet lunch", were just vastly different than our expectation. However, I still give this tour a 3 star because I enjoyed my first snorkelling experience, it was a gorgeous day to be at sea, and I did see beautiful sea life. Although the other group is a big group, but the guests were civilized and polite, we don't mind going on such tours if we knew ahead of time. I actually tipped the other group's tour guide for helping me in the water and looking after us during lunch. I actually felt I would be better off joining the other big group's tour.

Hi, My apologies for the bad experience you've got. But it is always overcrowded and degraded on the Lunar new year holiday. Normally we are small and good!

We decided spontaneously to do the Open Water Diver two years ago and it was absolutely worth it.
The staff was very friendly, we had good food on board and the water was clear.
They made our course perfect.
