The station was built by French long time ago. This station was the most beautiful one in Dong Duong by that time. Nowadays it seems to be faded out but i can feel its beauty. The color had been changed, repaint but its architecture is still beautiful, standing as it was after many historical incidents happened. Conserving is the thing that Vietnamese government should do to keep its value.

It’s a train station. Super basic. Hot. Not clean. And the train is a about the same. It was running about 45 min late from Nha Trang to Mui Ne. It’s inexpensive and the soft seats are old and dirty but have much more space than a plane flying economy. The views are nice but bring food and drinks if you remember. When we boarded there were people who have clearly been coming from a much farther north and look exhausted. My husband thinks it’s a great adventure. My 11 year old son is begging me to book a private car for the next train ride we had booked from Mui Ne to Ho Chi Minh. Summary: it’s not horrible in, but it’s not great. Just don’t expect much and you’ll be fine.

If there is no star in this review I will choose it. My husband booked this train from Nha Trang to HCMC. He thought it would be nice to see the view, nature on the train. It’s 8 hours ride and it was the longest 8 hours of my life!!!! It’s horrible, terrible, awful experience. We saw the photos online for clean, nice looking soft seat so we booked it. I didn’t expect much but this was way worse than I thought. It’s dirty and smelly. I’m writing this review when it was 7 hours more to go. I hope I don’t have to go to the toilet. I will not eat I will not drink because I can’t imagine what’s a toilet situation is going to be :((

just on the board of SE8 train from Nha Trang to Quy Nhon. Lovely experience, lot of food service on board, carriage bit dated but overall ok. Very nice station building, fairly clean and civilized restrooms are on first platform

It was definitely an experience. Just worse than what I expected. It’s a bit chaotic from trying to locate your sleeper cabin and getting situated for a long ride. They tend to oversell quite often so people are lingering all over the train and even in your cabin. Once you get in your cabin you need to get settled for a long ride and don’t expect your vip cabin to be clean. It’s dirty sticky and not cleaned.

Once the train begins to move there are people all around the hallway just hanging out due to no seats. Some look pretty shady so be sure to either shut the door or keep a hand on your belongings. I’m not even going to go into the bathroom situation.

During stops to your destination there are people that board the train and bang on your door to sell stuff. We also had critters in our cabin. It was a long train ride to Da Nang and I’m just so happy to get off the train!

Family of 4 caught the SE22 service, an overnight ride from Nha Trang to Danang. Wasn't sure what to expect other than a previous member's similar trip with a caution about cockroaches scurrying around. But, that being 2 years ago, so expected an improvement. Nha Trang station was busy and there were mainly locals. There is a food vendor inside the station and lots more on the platform. Drinks and snacks can be purchased here as well as beer and vodka, and banh mi.

The Reunification Express SE22 service was late on arrival. When it did arrive, I expected to wait whilst the changeover of passengers and cleaning took place. It did not. We clambered up very steep steps to our carriage and found our private berth. It was a 4 berth cabin with some storage space for our bags under the bottom beds and also top bunks. We could see some bedding on each bed which consisted of a pillow, sheet and blanket. The coach warden came through with a bottle of water for each person.

The first thing that greeted us was a terrible smell reminiscent of stale urine. We looked around to ascertain the source. Below a small table was a bin that had rubbish piled up high. It was obvious there hadn't been any cleaning done. Neither had there been a change of sheets or other bedding material. The cabin is air conditioned however it is also stuffy and top bunks can get cold..... but the condition of the blankets were such that we were disinclined to make use of them.

There is a double power point so we could charge our phones. The curtain is faded and does not adequately cover the windows so with an overnight trip we had some light coming through. There are announcements prior to each station stop that came through very loud over the speaker system, so whatever sleep we were trying to get was constantly interrupted. The coach warden didn't help with I'm walking around with a cigarette in hand which meant wafts of cig smoke drifting into our cabin.

By far the worst was the condition of the toilet. As I mentioned a previous trip done by a family member had a recollection of a direct drop of waste on to the train tracks which I scoffed at. This wasn't the case in 2017 but the condition of cleanliness was poor nonetheless. In fact, it was poor enough for us all to make a conscious decision not to brush our teeth in the facility that night!

We didn't have a choice with our itinerary other than to use the train service, and would caution other travellers as to resetting expectations if planning to use this mode of transport.

Bring your own toilet paper, anti bac wipes, air freshener (I had some perfume with me which came in handy!) and be prepared not to sleep.

We paid more for the berth service so was expecting more. I get that the country is still developing and so prepared to put up with some inconveniences and lack of mod cons, but not cleanliness and hygiene.

We arrived super early to catch our train, and found a bustling station. There were benches, per usual, on the outside next to the tracks. And there are screens that tell travelers what trains will soon be departing. On the screen, the car numbers are listed in order that they will appear when the train shows up, which is helpful when the train is long and there's not much time to get on. However, we learned that those numbers are not always accurate! It is a little confusing to figure out where to stand (on which side) when the train comes in and, as always, what direction the train will be coming. Asking a few people who were in uniform helped, even though we received contradictory information. Eventually, we figured it out. However, when the train did show up, the car numbers were in opposite order as they were listed on the screen, so everyone was running in opposite directions to climb on. It was a wee bit chaotic in the dark, especially since we were traveling on the tracks, not on the platform.

We had an e-ticket bought beforehand, but went early to convert it over to a "real" ticket at the info booth, which happened in lightening speed.

There were few mosquitoes, and the bathrooms were like port-a-toilets of some sorts. Could have been worse as far as cleanliness goes, but also nothing you'd like to visit any more times than you absolutely had to.

In short, we showed up way, way too early, and waited a long time.

Old and dated and no rest room available at 4am It would be nice if they had some services like coffee in the restroom open 30 minutes before the first train comes
