Well worth the climb!
Apr 2021
We actually took our bikes from the hotel and got all the way to the top. It was not easy as this is a steep road! You can also go by motorbike/taxi. This was a really interesting ride as we saw tons of pagoda and temples all the way up the mountain - some of them quite elaborate. Others were really simple. At the top, we had great views of the rice fields all the way to Cambodia. (That's not as impressive as it sounds - Cambodia is quite close.) My only complaint was that there was a lot of rice field burning which obscured our views to some degree.

high up above the fields
Dec 2019
it's a very steep street, going up on this little mountain with it's temples and a fantastic view around on the rice fields. while the pagodas are rather disappointing, the view is stunning. and there is a great restaurant half the way up.

Looking over the Mekong delta floodplain
Sep 2018 • Business
Had a look at the floodplains in Mekong delta from the top of Sam Mountain. Fantastic view showing how numerous low and high dykes are managing the floodplain.

This hill is located at Chau Doc town, An Giang Province, Vietnam. It is near the VietNam-Cambodia border. It was raining, but had good time with Vietnamese colleagues in my second visit to this beautiful country last week.

There is a small temple on the hilltop. As my colleague said - It is associated with the legend of a Buddhist nun who is now worshipped for good luck. A bigger temple is around the foothill.

Motorbikes can take you to the hilltop from the main road. You need to tell them to drive carefully as the road has a few bad patches.

Only high view

Not so scenic and some deconstruction projects here. A lot of trash around and I just only come here for higher view and some temples

Great views
Apr 2017
This is an ancient place of pilgrimage and is very Vietnamese with relics and scenic walks. The summit has incredible views and is worth the hike. We did see some people taking a motorbike up and just walking down (which is much easier)

Run down dump
Feb 2018 • Couples
The road up this hill was closed to vehicular traffic as work is apparently underway to build a cable car up to the top. When we got to the top at sunset, it was hard to find a spot with a view and the whole place was badly run down with almost all stalls closed down.

Maybe it will improve after the cable car goes in but for now it might be better to take in the view from the hotel at the bottom of the road.

bike to base, pay to ascend, walk down
Feb 2018 • Couples
biked from downtown Chau-Doc was simple and safer once you left town. continue straight as the highway narrows and turn left when you reach the temple, continue around the base of the mountain until you see road on the right. Hire a motor scoter to take you to top, it was a steep hot walk for us. bumpy road w trash cans. Enjoy views at top and have a refreshment. (we did not find WC) Look for tree with benches at top. walk down and stop at Buddha place and the Victoria Hotel (WC).
they are building a gondola to the top.

Not Worth the Detour
Oct 2017 • Couples
Going to Ha Tien from Can Tho, you can divert here. It is a hill not a mountain. ("Well, the Delta is very flat, so they call this a mountain.) The temple is "Chinese" and has altars and statues, and there are views. It is a climb, but you don't need to go to the top of the "mountain," where there is nothing but the view.

The best part is the Lady Lu temple, which is unusual and charming.
