If you have time during your visit to Hue to explore outside the city then I'd highly recommend a visit to this lagoon.
It's largely a collection of fish farms, supported as an eco-tourism venture where you can hire a fisherman and a boat and experience the lagoon from the water.
We went out fishing, originally intending to have cooked whatever we caught but, as we only caught undersized crabs, we had to 'settle' for having to eat some stunningly fresh squid and prawns that had been caught previously. No hardship at all.
We ate in a restaurant on stilts where we were seated on the floor in their best position, watching as the sun set over a timeless scene.
Magical. Again!

I half want to write this review on the Chuon Lagoon— the reason being that it’s such a hauntingly beautiful place, preserved in time, that I want to keep it that way.
Although I doubt that’s the case as it’s well visited by many Hue residents in the summer. This lagoon provides the life source for many fishermen; if you take a stroll you will get a peek into their lifestyles where their days are divided into the two trips where they go out in the early am to cast the nets. Then the afternoons when nets are collected, hopefully with fresh catches of the day.
The seafood here is well renown for its freshness— I have not tasted better crabs anywhere around the world, including the Maryland Blue Crabs.

If you love to see the real rural of Hue, this is a good choice. Just a short ride on motorbike of 15min from Hue then you can see a vast lagoon with hundreds of fishing farms on the water. It will be amazing if you're there about 5h30pm then the sun set is incredible

A good place for food and sightseeing. I just concerned about the hygienic issues since the washrooms were build on the lagoon and I could find any waste treatment in this restaurant. Does it mean the human waste and the food waste dispose directly to the lagoon?

I've been there on a rainy day, and as plan, i want to take a photo of sunset here. But even it was rain, it's still a wonderful view.

Very nice here. Totally wildly with seafood, great beach view. The owner is very honest. Fresh seafood with very cheap price. I really like it and highly appreciate.
