Phu Mong garden house is a traditional vietnamese house turned tourist attraction on the banks of the perfume river and is usually the first stop in the Dragon Boat tour enroute to the Thien Mu pagoda.

There is a 20,000 VND entrance fee to this place and the Lady Caretaker promptly stands guard at the entrance to collect the fee just as every bus load of toutists arrive to see the place.

Good for a first time visitor, as u will find similar old houses spread all across the vietnamese country side. the house has a garden space full of mangosteen fruit trees.. u r in luck if u can pluck some ripe ones of the trees..

Nothing super interesting to see here. Traditional homes solidly built that are around 150-200 years old.

Stopped at this garden house as part of a tour. Entrance fee is 20,000. Great little place to get a feel for the lifestyle and traditional architecture for the elite class. Enjoyed experiencing the gardens and building.

But there are many garden houses hidden throughout Hue, all in various states of decline or repair. I stumbled into one on Phan Dinh Phung street right next to An Dinh Palace. I just walked in and, somewhat startled to see a person living amidst some crumbling buildings, made a move to leave. But a lady doing her washing waved warmly for me to look around. She didn't seek to get any money from me and I enjoyed the ambiance of history and decay.

This is a traditional Vietnamese Timber home constructed in the 19th century and in keeping with Feng Shui principles. It is worth a visit to admire the design and timber work, the gardens with many traditional fruit trees, and the pond in front of the house with lotus blossoming flowers. A rare find in the imperial city of Hue
