The fact that my review has been taken off for telling the truth shows that these people have something they are ashamed off and wanting to hide -otherwise leave it on here as I will be telling anyone and everyone I can why NOT to
Come here.

I visited this place on day one and it is beautiful memory of Thich N H is firmly there -so I visited the next day.

Whilst I was trying to do a meditation in the garden, I saw something on the ground and found a dying tabby kitten needing water and food with its ribs popping out of its chest . I was mortified picked it up found a hose pipe and tried to give it water but it wouldn’t stop meowing so I called one of the monks.
He picked it up indifferently and took it to the kitchen and just put it on the table and walked off . One of the old Buddhist women there told me to get the cats and leave . Nobody was doing anything about it and I had to insist that somebody gave it water and food. The cat could even even stand up and by this point I couldn’t stop crying. I was absolutely mortified and traumatised.
What shocked me the most is that the monks there couldn’t have cared less there was no compassion no emotion nothing. How did a cat end up like this? Why didn’t somebody call the vet? Kat was dying right in front of me and in the end I had to just leave. I couldn’t do anything. It was literally dying in front of them.

I know the Buddhist religion says that one with nature, but this to me was absolutely brutal and has left me with one of the worst memories I have ever had in Vietnam and in Asia .

Treatment of this animal was clear. Abuse.
The fact that they have even taken my review off shows they have something to hide and I will say it again but it’s shameful they are supposed to be spiritual people and this is supposed to be a sanctuary. Why don’t we start with nature since this is what Buddhist traditions preach

I I will tell everyone online about my experience with this monastery. -I don’t believe that somebody like THICH NH would have ever thought this treatment of this animal was right and it’s a great shame the monks here are a representation of him .

I stay in Dieu Tram - nun center of Plum village in Vietnam next to Tu Hieu Pagoda for one month. We walking mediation around Tu Hieu every early morning. It is so beautiful and peaceful. It better to visit in early morning so you can enjoy super fresh air, baby sunshine and morning chanting. Another beautiful is image of a monk sweep the floor. If u come here around 6:30 am, u have chance to see nuns walking meditation or 8:00 am monkS working meditation. Monks from Tu Hieu also go to Dieu Tram center to have dinner every Thurday and Sunday. Every Sunday, if u go to Tu Hieu, by the way, u can join day for public in Dieu Tram. It starts at 8:00 am, working meditation, then have lunch in noble silient, afternoon practise deep listening. It is wonderful experience.
Enjoy!

As a practitioner in the Plum Village tradition, it was very exciting for me to visit this pagoda where Thich Naht Hanh ordained, and I believe remains abbot in name. As I have done retreats at Thai Plum Village, I have met many of the Vietnamese who have traveled across the border due to restrictions in place for practicing this tradition in Vietnam. They sell many books by Thay, as well as some of his calligraphy. I was able to get a scroll with a quote of his for my altar. It is a peaceful forest setting, and quiet when not visited by the giant Asian tour buses. I was able to listen to the morning chanting ceremony, which was lovely.

The world zen master’s original ordained temple and currently residing here. According to the little English speaking nun (Hope to get it right), the meditation is daily 430am and 7pm. 2 hours by car from Danang town, you may charter one way or two ways car. Love the amazing place and wishing to be back here with an overnight stay nearby to join the meditation. Meeting the master is relatively unsure and depends on master’s health and outdoor timing.

So many Buddhist temples in Vietnam seem to be completely divorced from Buddhist teachings and values. This temple, where Thic Nhat Han trained as a child, is different. Physically beautiful, with gorgeous, simple architecture, bonsai, and orchids; and also a spiritually powerful place that promotes a contemplative state. The monks and nuns were also quietly welcoming, and appeared to be joyful.

We arrived early 7.30am to visit here before the hoards of tourists which didn't disappoint. This is the temple where Thich Nhat Hahn the famous Buddhist Monk now resides. This area is extremely peaceful and you can walk around the grounds and soak in the atmosphere. It has a meditative feel to it and the nuns and monks walk around the grounds too. We were lucky enough to hear the nuns chanting. the buildings are old and there is some renovations going on. It was a magical experience.

I went to pay my respects to master thich nhat hanh. It is a lovely old monastery full of historical artefacts like tombs. However the main hall is under construction and so it is noisy to pray. There are many rivers nearby so mosquitoes are aplenty. Bring insect repellant. I hope master thich nhat hamh has some too. :(

I visited Tu Hieu Pagoda with my tour guide which was a real advantage as it was able to have explained to me the significance of the various structures I was seeing. It was a lovely peaceful place to visit where I was able to understand more about the culture of many Vietnamese

This is still actively used with monks living here.
It doesn't have the impressive structure of the Thien My pagoda or the gardens of the tombs, it is far more humble. There are a significant number of stupas around, the area is less structured and some of the walking is on grass (wear insect repellent).
If you are touring independently it is worth a quick call in (it is free to visit), however if you're organised tour doesn't include it, it is not worth going out of your way to add it.
