This tour is a great way to explore the city of Hue and the food it has to offer. Sitting in a cyclo is a totally relaxing mode of transportation: there is always a light breeze, and one sees and smells the city in a much more direct way than on a scooter or in a car. I liked that we didn't just eat, but also explored the market and saw the produce, fish and meat. The tour is very well designed and we didn't feel stuffed at the end. There is more than enough food - we didn't need or want dinner afterwards - but it wasn't too much. We ate at many different places in different parts of the city, from hip cafes to small holes in the wall. Overall this is a very well designed tour, and in our case we had a great guide to add to the enjoyment.

I leave this review to highlight Mr Thoms honesty and integrity. We booked this tour from Australia and whilst here in Vietnam during the Coronavirus pandemic we contacted Mr Thom to make sure the tour was still operating as we had had some problems in Hoi An. He kept in contact with us and checked which restaurants were open and willing to serve us and u fortunately he had to cancel as he felt the tour would not be up to his usual standard. We really appreciate the honesty and wish you all the best in these troubling times. I’m sure this tour would have been a highlight of our stay

Thom was an amazing guide. We are two foodies and loved the super-well prepared and thought-through tour that Thom has put together. It was only the two of us booking that afternoon and Thom made an amazing experience out of it. First we saw the massive list of things we were going to try and could not imagine how that would work (and fit in our bellies), but it was so well designed and varied between smaller and bigger portions, that in the end we could try and enjoy it all! Also, it was super interesting to learn more about the different preparation techniques and looooong ingredient lists that go into preparing typical vietnamese dishes.
The next day, we even went to a few of our favorite places again! Definitely recommend and well worth its price.

Hi Pat, I am so happy when both of you liked the street food tour with me. And, hopefully, the food experience in Hue and daily life here becomes good memories for you during your trip in Vietnam. Best wishes to you!

My girlfriend and I spent 10 days touring Ho Chi Minh City, Hoi An, Hue and Hanoi and this food tour was one of our highlights. Thom, the owner and guide, does an amazing job taking care of his guests and providing a world class experience.

Thom explained the food and how cultural beliefs effect the food offerings. Also he uses cyclos and as a result takes you all around the city during this food tour (a total of 4 hours) which might not be doable if it were a walking tour. He takes you to out of the way places you would never find, providing a true local experience. You get more than ample food on this tour so come hungry, cause even then you still won't be able to finish eating all the delicious and interesting food that you'll receive. Finally, maybe the best part, he takes you through the local market and points out and explains all the local produce, herbs and meats used by locals on a daily basis. He even buys some fruit for you to sample later. I can't stress how great this tour is and what a can't miss activity this is in all of Vietnam. I can't recommend this highly enough.

P.S. - Don't be afraid to go if it's raining either. It was raining during our tour and Thom brought ponchos for us to wear and the cyclo drivers will enclose the cyclos in tarp to almost eliminate getting wet.

This tour was amazing. Enjoying local cuisine (around 15 different items to try!!) and in the meanwhile relaxing and enjoying the street views from the comfortable chair of a cyclo. Thom has a lot of knowledge about food in Vietnam and his English is very good. Definitely 5 stars for us. Roni and Sebas

This is IT! Mr. Thom, our guide, not only knows his food but the part it plays in Vietnamese culture. So, you come away not only full of amazing, tasty dishes but also full of cultural bites. Mr. Thom is an amazing guide and the cyclos are great fun....tuk Turks without the motor.....take this tour, you won’t be disappointed.

This is the best food tour that we found on our holiday to Vietnam. Thom is a great host and very knowledgable. We travelled around on Cyclos (guy at the back of a bike while you sat at the front on a comfy seat) in Hue, which is in itself a great way to enjoy Hue.

We focused on the food of Hue and Thom showed us some amazing treats. There is no way we could of found the food and flavour of Hue with out him, he taught us about the Vietnamese culture of food and what it meant to their culture.
Had some Vietnamese coffee in an old French coffee house, pure bliss!

I highly recommend Thom and his food tour, even if you just taking a day trip to Hue to meet with Thom and do his tour.

Thanks Thom for sharing your knowledge of great food and places in Hue!

My first time on a cyclo and my first time eating Bun Bo Hue. The cyclo was a lot of fun, the Bun Bo Hue was probably one of the best meals I have ever had. I would visit Hue again just for another taste! I have had it several times out of Hue and it was never the same.

Thom is a very knowledgeable and passionate guide. We learned a few things about Hue history and food culture.

We went on food tours in tricycle around Hue city. Our food tour-guide Thom really knows the city and his local exquisite delicacies. Thom will take us to some local restaurant that you never knew it existed. Result? It was fantastic! Highly recommended for a day trip. Thom will take you to the market as well to see how local people sells our daily basic needs. Very fruitful tour!
