I’m giving this 2 stars mainly for the trip we booked through them. We ate breakfast here too and it was good (3-4 stars for that) - not super cheap, but a decent menu with Western options (if you want that kind of meal) and nice staff, like everywhere in Hue. But if you’re considering booking a trip - be sure to check the type of vehicle you’ll be travelling in. We booked a “luxury” minivan (or so we were told) and paid 3 230,000 VND each. We were told it was a max 8-12 pax capacity and a scenic drive to Hou Wn It was 30min late to pick us up; and when it did, had 25 people squeezed into the smallest seats you can imagine. Ok for a tiny person but for tall people (over 170cm) it was 6 hrs of hell. I was crunches into the back of the seat in front and every time the person in front moved, it crushed me more. Couldn’t move, couldn’t breathe. Compared to the actual luxury sleeper buses available all over Vietnam, it was terrible. The tour guide was a lovely guy and wanted to help but admitted his boss had wanted more money so had agreed to extra passengers than normal - which meant the 2 front seats with extra legroom were used for luggage which wouldn’t fit below, and we couldn’t use them. Other passengers were disgruntled too, and had been told the drive was only 4hr, not 6hr. We also asked whether lunch was included - and Cafe on Thu Wheels told us it wasn’t, so we ended up paying extra to order takeaway food from them to eat ... only to find out there was Banh mi included as lunch. Not impressed overall with cafe on thu wheels as a tourism stop, despite an ok menu. We ended up getting out early at Marble Mountain (Da Nang) and paying 350,000 for a private car into Hoi An, just so we didn’t have to wait an hour for the marble mountain stop and sit in the bus again. A learning experience for us - be sure to double check exactly what type of transport we’re on. Long story short - fine to eat at cafe on thu wheels, not ok to book a tour. Don’t do it!…

We booked a tour of the imperial tombs with Cafe on Thu Wheels and had a private car with driver just for the two of us, which meant we could schedule our outing when we wanted. We were so pleased with the efficiency, price, and friendliness of the cafe owner that we booked a river tour and transportation to Hoi An with them as well. Again, both the Perfume River boat and the car to Hoi An were just for the two of us, so we were able to choose the times that suited us most. A special shout out to our driver, Lai, who took excellent care of us and on his own initiative made sure to take the most scenic route and stop at particularly interesting spots along the way so we could take photos. His driving was also a notch above the regional average, as he did not honk his horn at every vehicle that happened to be in front. All in all a very positive experience and we highly recommend this outfit …

We wanted to make our family transfer from Hue to Hoi An memorable for our children so went a private 7 seater transfer to take in the Lang Co beach, Hai Van Pass and Marble Mountain. Now the weather was wasn’t great, heavy rain prevented us staying in Lang Co very long and our driver wasn’t sure Hai Van Pass was safe to cross in the conditions but he did and I was impressed on how well he drove, we felt totally safe in his hands. I’d recommend this company for its tours and drivers.…

We booked a tour to see some of the main sights by motorbike. Both drivers were very friendly and happy to wait for as long as we wanted to take pictures. They suggested flipping the order so we could spend some time at the citadel, so rather than going there first we were dropped off there at the end. We would recommend going to see the citadel first thig or after 2:30 though, when it is a bit cooler. We also ate here and the food was tasty.…
