We booked a tour of the imperial tombs with Cafe on Thu Wheels and had a private car with driver just for the two of us, which meant we could schedule our outing when we wanted. We were so pleased with the efficiency, price, and friendliness of the cafe owner that we booked a river tour and transportation to Hoi An with them as well. Again, both the Perfume River boat and the car to Hoi An were just for the two of us, so we were able to choose the times that suited us most. A special shout out to our driver, Lai, who took excellent care of us and on his own initiative made sure to take the most scenic route and stop at particularly interesting spots along the way so we could take photos. His driving was also a notch above the regional average, as he did not honk his horn at every vehicle that happened to be in front. All in all a very positive experience and we highly recommend this outfit

Not sure what to say. We have used Thu’s organisational skills so many times to arrange our trip but never left a review. For that I apologise! We book a bike trip from Hue to Hoi an via the Hai Van pass- and it’s always amazing! The experience, scenery, views, food,stops- Always great!! We have been lucky enough to always have Dat as our guide and he is amazing. Funny. Genuine. Chatty. Kind. I wouldn’t want anyone else! Don’t change a thing- this tour is amazing!

Thu os also wonderful! Always remembers us and chats to us. Arrives in time and leaves you feeling assured.

One of our highlights of Vietnam and Asia!thank you again!!!

We had a great time during our motorbike tour to various places in and close to Hue! Never seen so much in such a short time. We always felt safe on the bikes and the guide was great. A definitely "Must do"!

P.s. Shakes are also great!

I’m giving this 2 stars mainly for the trip we booked through them. We ate breakfast here too and it was good (3-4 stars for that) - not super cheap, but a decent menu with Western options (if you want that kind of meal) and nice staff, like everywhere in Hue.

But if you’re considering booking a trip - be sure to check the type of vehicle you’ll be travelling in. We booked a “luxury” minivan (or so we were told) and paid 3
230,000 VND each. We were told it was a max 8-12 pax capacity and a scenic drive to Hou Wn It was 30min late to pick us up; and when it did, had 25 people squeezed into the smallest seats you can imagine. Ok for a tiny person but for tall people (over 170cm) it was 6 hrs of hell. I was crunches into the back of the seat in front and every time the person in front moved, it crushed me more. Couldn’t move, couldn’t breathe. Compared to the actual luxury sleeper buses available all over Vietnam, it was terrible. The tour guide was a lovely guy and wanted to help but admitted his boss had wanted more money so had agreed to extra passengers than normal - which meant the 2 front seats with extra legroom were used for luggage which wouldn’t fit below, and we couldn’t use them. Other passengers were disgruntled too, and had been told the drive was only 4hr, not 6hr. We also asked whether lunch was included - and Cafe on Thu Wheels told us it wasn’t, so we ended up paying extra to order takeaway food from them to eat ... only to find out there was Banh mi included as lunch. Not impressed overall with cafe on thu wheels as a tourism stop, despite an ok menu.

We ended up getting out early at Marble Mountain (Da Nang) and paying 350,000 for a private car into Hoi An, just so we didn’t have to wait an hour for the marble mountain stop and sit in the bus again. A learning experience for us - be sure to double check exactly what type of transport we’re on.

Long story short - fine to eat at cafe on thu wheels, not ok to book a tour. Don’t do it!

Staff - I found the staff to be very friendmy and caring. When it came to bookings, they do not push you to commit on spot but give you your time.

Food - The food

Bookings - They have good tours on offer with daily all inclusive packages and individualised tours. The prices are moderate.

Easy Rider 1 day trip to Hoi An - I drove with Đat. He is great - so friendly and caring. He handled is bike very well despite the considerable weight differences btw driver and client. :-) I really recommend this trip due to the many beautiful stops that would otherwise be hard to find.

Amazing food and excellent atmosphere. I lived in Hue three years ago and Thu was my favourite restaurant back then. Now visited Hue again and Cafe On Thu Wheels still is my favourite restaurant. You just won't be disappointed.

After reading through all the positive feedback for Cafe on Thu Wheels, we decided to book our DMZ Tour here as well. After getting picked up right on time by our very friendly driver Huy in a nice and comfortable car (wifi included), we got driving and stopped for the first couple of sights. Later on the way, we collected our lovely guide Hai, a fluent English speaker with a great knowledge of Vietnamese history. The entire tour has been incredibly interesting as well as educating, we can highly recommend it to everyone interested in the DMZ.

Phan Huy is a most excellent driver. Fantastic tour. Showed us the most beautiful spots. Free food and water, a real gentlemen. Stopped on the mountain for a magical experience. Visited the citadel, the largest tomb and the Thien Pagoda. Before a smooth drive to the marble mountains. Excellent knowlege of all the sites and history. Cannot recommend highly enough.

We arrived in Hue in the evening, and went to this place asking for a tour to the DMZ and Vinh Moc tunnels; this was arranged for the next morning! Excellent timeliness, car and driver was great, and the guide was very good and knowledgeable. Recommended!

We have booked a car with drive to explore the tombs and pagidas around Hue, and it is the cheapest we have found in town: 35$ for 2 tombs, 2 pagadas, the japanese cobered bridge and the bunker, from 9am to 3pm. The car was brand new and the driver was able to speak good English.
The driving was ok and we had no problem with the driver, except at the last stop where he disappeared with our bags in his car for more than 30 minutes, without any notification! We were quite scared, but found that he cannot park in the area, that's why he has to leave. Apart from that incident, it would have been perfect.
