Hot stone massage was wonderful!
Feb 2018 • Couples
Reading the other reviews, I agree with some points, but overall this was a fantastic massage. We had Thai and foot massage in Thailand, but decided to try hot stone here. It was evening and there were no other customers. My husband and I were in the same room, but there were two other unoccupied beds in the room so we might have had less privacy if they were busy. We negotiated the price with the owner, who spoke English well but was on her way out. She came back and let the masseuses know what we wanted then left. We stripped down (would have been awkward in shared room) and got on the tables. Both of us were impressed with the strength of the massages. The hot stone was everything we heard about and more! Not only do they lay them on your back while they massage your arms and legs, they use the stones as massaging tools, which was very therapeutic. At the end, one of them asked for payment. My husband wanted to go downstairs to get change, but she was insisting we pay for the massage and tip right there, right now. He insisted he just needed to go down to get change for a too large bill, but she started demanding their tips. He tried to explain again that he just needed change, but she wouldn't budge. He finally just gave her the larger bill to pay for both of us together and we left. Either way, it was worth it. Just be prepared for what we consider rude behavior.

Was great a year ago now it suck bad
May 2016 • Business
I was in Ho Chi Minh city back in June 2015 and I came here. It was great and the massage was fantastic. So since I am here again in 2016 for business. I decided to bring my colleagues here. Sad to say it was disappointing. Very disappointing infact.

1. The masseuse had no strength, she had to keep resting.
2. Chatting among themselves as per other reviewers have mentioned
3. Unable to communicate, would suggest that they pick up simple English.
4. I did not know I had to tip about 200k per massage until my Vietnam colleague told me ... So 90 minutes massage would cost you 260k VND + 200k TIP = 460k Might as well just give 500k then ...

Overall if you are looking for a authentic massage, I would suggest this is a OK place if you stay nearby however do ask for a strong lady and also prepare to pay 500k for 90 minutes of massage. If possible, request for separate room.

Happy Massage!

Better than Thailand!
Mar 2016 • Couples
Seen some horrible reviews to which I agree with various points (ie lack of English, and asking for a tip)
The latter annoyed me as they were getting good money and were asking for more!
In any case, massage was alongside my missus in a shared room which was quite cramped for my liking. Let's say the ambiance was nowhere to be found?
But in any case, the shiatsu massage I had and the Thai massage my wife had were excellent. They have a set routine so if you have a problem spot you're not likely to get yourself sorted here.
It is better value comparative to Thailand and Malaysia so I don't know what those stingy reviewers were on about?
On the whole it was very good albeit a couple of negatives.
By the way we were at the my thi luu branch at DaKao.

Myself and my other half only just came back from this place well we asked for a tea tree oil massage and they used a drop of baby oil and they were very rough and missed body part and walked out of the room every 10mins and the whole time the girls were talking and laughing. After the massage my girl was standing in the room watching me get dressed as she wanted a tip. Worst massage ever.

Did not feel I got what the reviews here were about
Dec 2014 • Solo
Went down there for shiatsu. Stuff spoke hardly 2 words of English. Certificates (just as those on the picture here)? No, no hear.
What I got was a shiatsu-like massage - can't really compare as it was supposed to be my first shiatsu, but judging by some little signs that was not really therapeutic -) Also the environment, which I can compare, I've seen much better care and management in Saigon within the same price range.

PS yet, I saw a steam room down there.. not sure how popular that is in Saigon, and I havnt' checked it out, and still, a steam room! I guess a steam room never hurts -)

I was definitely not dissapointed!
Apr 2014 • Friends
I'm always hesitant committing myself to spending a good chunk of money on something without knowing more (or at least having a substantial number of reassuring Trip Advisor reviews available) ahead of time, but I found myself in dire need of a massage last week -- after realizing it'd be over 6 months without any kind of bodywork -- and was fortunate enough to find a next-day appointment here with Ngoc Anh. I was definitely not disappointed.

I was immediately greeted at the front desk at this lovely little -- and beautifully decorated and peaceful -- spa and given some paperwork to fill out prior to the massage. I really liked how the back of the paper, which required my initials pretty much everywhere, included several statements emphasizing the spa's commitment to client satisfaction and stressed how much they valued customer input during and after an appointment because, after all, that's really the only way the practitioners could know what was and wasn't working. Well said!

I also appreciated Ngoc Anh's overall attentive and calming presence throughout the massage (I opted for the 75-minute deluxe massage featured on their booking page). She really listened to what I told her I wanted -- a lot of focus on the hands and feet -- and allowed me to fully relax through the entire session. I often feel obligated to carry on a conversation during a massage, but on that day I really needed to tune out, and she invited me to do just that from the moment I was on the table.

Lastly, I was impressed by the amount of strength and control Ngoc Anh had for her very petite frame. When I first met her, I did anticipate that I'd be asking her to apply more pressure during the massage, but I didn't need to ask her for anything different the entire time.

In addition to wishing I'd booked an even longer massage, the only thing that could use improvement is the soundproofing in the massage rooms. Whenever people came in or out, I could clearly hear their conversations. Until they attend to the physical adjustments that need to be made to better block the noises, it would be nice if the other employees made an effort to keep their voices down -- which is what Ngoc Anh did -- and actively encourage clients to do the same to preserve the peaceful nature of the spa.

Horrible experience
Apr 2014 • Family
Went in here for a foot massage with my teenage sons, it's easily the worst massage I've ever had having been to dozens all over SE Asia. The young blokes massaging us spent the time messing about. The guy doing mine spent the whole hour coughing all over me, while the one doing my sons took great delight in watching him wince while giggling with his mate. The icing on the cake was when they asked for a tip. Couldn't get out quick enough, take my advice and walk on by.

Ngoc Anh - my favourite basic massage in Vietnam
Oct 2013 • Solo
I go to the one by the zoo/botanic gardens on Nguyen Binh Khiem.

A range of well priced massages to choose from. My favourites are hot stone massage or the foot massage.N.B. Wear long shorts if you don't want the guys to hit on you.

For a more expensive/more upmarket massage try L'Apothiquaire in District 3 or a few in District 2. Yet to try the Ayurvedic one.

Fooled by the word Therapy
Dec 2013 • Solo
The place is dirty. Using the word therapy and a japanese teacher (sifu) name on the banner fooled me. Oh I forgot, tons of accupressure points poster plasted everywhere should have given me the heads up. May be i am a first time customer, they gave me a low rate masseues, but couple squeeze, I mean couple, does not constitute therapy massage. And the masseues had chatting with the other masseues. Money I have, time I do not and false advertising makes me mad. Will not repeat.
