- Trek201958220931 contribution: The shopping center is truly impressive. First, the location of the center is very convenient, located right in the middle of the city center, the location is favorable, but also the variety of stores and brands. From top fashion stores to brands. Product quality. The service staff is very friendly and enthusiastic. They are always willing to support and help customers in any situation.Visited April 2024Traveled soloWritten April 18, 2024
- FpatniMumbai, India8 contributionsMuch better then any other markets in ho chi minh. Much easier to bargain as they don't quote very high price. People here are more friendly too. Got good bargains. Better quality too. Very good food court too.Visited February 2025Traveled as a coupleWritten February 18, 2025

This underground market - Taka Plaza is a place that attracts the attention of residents and visitors to Ho Chi Minh City but basiclly the goods sold at Taka Plaza are almost identical to those sold at Ben Thanh Market and Saigon Square. Major difference here is that you will not be hassled by the vendors. If you walk further in you will find a section that is dedicated to Vietnamese young designers but their stuff is not cheap. Food court was closed except for a restaurant cum bar.It is also not as crowded as the other places so you can actually relax and walk around with no bustle.

Great prices that are either fixed or an easy bargain. Most items are on the cheaper end or copies, not high level brands. There is an area with a range of shops of young local designed clothes. Shopkeepers are not as pushy here and there is a good range of items for sale. Many are the same as available in Ben Thanh market, yet without the pushy sales and the relentless harassment and drama associated with hard bargaining to get reasonable prices.
The market is easily accessible and a level underground. There is a food court with various cafes and restaurants. Money changers are across the street if you do spend all of your VND. Well worth a visit.

Best place to purchase shoes, trainers and crocs.
Much cheaper price than other markets in the area.
Vendors are polite and respectful. They do not touch or grab you or shout.
All starting prices were at least 300k cheaper than other markets.
Ie Yeezys 550k, Jordan 1 600k.
Markets air conditioned too.

We enjoy shopping at the Taka Plaza as it it a lot less chaotic than Ben Thanh. As with most markets they all have pretty much the same goods for sale. One great thing is that you don’t have to waste your time batteries as many stalls are fixed price.

i went to these markets few times this week between 7-12 January , after visiting ben thang and Saigon square this is the right market to go buy everything this has been my observation
1--- ben thang markets they wanted Nike shoes 1.3 - 1.6 million for that price i can just buy original shoes back home you try bargaining with them and they don't wanna sell you the item , what i found that seems like all the sellers have joined hands and worked out the minimum they are all gonna charge for a item and no supplier drops it lower than that price so the price stays high in the market and that's what i observed in Saigon square , then we go to taka plaza here for the same shoe the shop starts at 700 not 1.3 million and then you bargain and you get the shoe at 500 which is actually the real price for that shoe.
2-- same with clothes t shirts i found that was the case in ben and Saigon and then when i went to taka the same exact stock same exact t shirt was for sale at a very reasonable price what it is worth not the escalated price they are asking in ben and Saigon square .
Was recommended taka plaza by a grab driver and seems like its the way to go for all your fake t shirts shoes and whatever else you need . went there few times very happy like crocs they wanted 500-600 at Saigon and ben thang here at taka they start with 200k and you can get them for 160k which is about right what you wanan pay for them , so i would highly recommend taka plaza best way to understand is like what i did go to ben and Saigon square and then get the prices and then go to taka and you will understand the difference . And the suppliers are not pushy you don't want it that's ok no big deal compared to ben they will try anything for you to buy the item .
I was a bit disappointed when i went to ben thang and Saigon and thought i wont find the bargains and then i found this plaza done all my shopping there .
Keep few hours aside for this trip took us few hours a day as kept going back to buy more and more .

Visited this plaza with my husband in Oct 2018. Markets & food court inside also some shops. Markets better priced than Ben Thanh, nicer staff. No rude pushy sales. Most items are already priced at good prices, still can barter if you buy more. You'll find all brand names Nike, Adidas, Armour, Tommy Hillfigure, leather goods, shoes & handbags. The food court has everything to cater all tastes. Thai food, Indian, Italian, Vietnamese, Vegan & Vegatarian. Good priced food. There is also a pizza restraunt in side. Would definately return.

I was recommended Taka Plaza by my AirBnB apartment owner, which proved to be good advice.
Its location is very close to BTM and Saigon Square, but since it gets lesser known and gets less tourists, its less crowded but the range of goods sold is similar.
Prices quoted were lower than at BTM or Saigon Square and the shopkeepers were more pleasant to bargain with.

Need to go. This is a hidden gem where the locals go to shop. Lots of clothes and jackets. It has an amazing really affordable kids and adults shoe store in there as well (i just bought 5 pairs there).
Check this local shopping hub out when you get the chance!

Hi! anywhere I can buy winter gear such as nice coats and jackets for cheap in HCMC? Scarves burberry or LV?
Is getting a hotel in Benh Thanh near market safe? Is benh thanh market only at night?
Written July 17, 2019
Which is the cheapest place to shop? I heard Ben Thanh is higher rates, but you can haggle more than 1/3 into it, so that's even cheaper isnt it? xx
Written July 5, 2019
Oh wow thank you! Is Ben Thanh super bad? I heard if you can haggle and walk away if they dont meet your price is a good way!

Hi! Im planning on visitng HCMC and Phu Quoc in december and was wondering -What are some vietnamese dishes that i must have that has no pork or beef? Xx
Written July 5, 2019
There are the Vietnamese Spring Rolls (you can choose those with shrimps), grilled or fried chicken, be it at restaurants and street food.
Written July 10, 2019
Yes, I trust you can as there are lots of "renowned and international branded" items there, like LV, Gucci, Prada and Chanel.
Should you can't find there, the Ben Thank night market or main markets like Binh Tay (Chinatown) should have them too.
Enjoy your shopping spree in HCMC!

Can I find winter clothing here? Namely gear for cold mountain trekking (eg. fleece jacket linings, head bands covering the ears, wool socks, etc.).
