This private tour in an open air military Jeep turned out to be exciting and a unique way of seeing Ho Chi Minh City/Saigon at night. Our guide Rohan taught us a lot of interesting history about the city as the driver navigated the wild streets of the city. My wife and I sat on the back bench seat which is a bit snug but it was fine. There is a cooler full of water, soda, and beer in the Jeep.
We liked being driven across the river where a lot of the young Vietnamese go to hang out and look back at the tall colorful lit buildings of the city. Our favorite street we drove down was “Backpackers Street”, or Bui Vien Street which is a few blocks of colorful,loud, wild area lined with spas, and bars, with bar girls beckoning those passing by.
After many more stops and sights the evening ended with an included cocktail up top of the famous REX Hotel Rooftop Garden Bar and listened to the hotel combo play music for a short while. We also appreciated that we were pickup and dropped off to our hotel. This tour gave us more memorable experiences here in Ho Chi Minh City!
