1 of the most well-known places that people usually recommended. The street has a very contrast picture in term of it owns 'time'. In the morning, the street is quite peaceful with few people strolling around & enjoying the pace of the morning scene.
At night, the street is always lively & full of people, especially on weekends. You will mostly encounter a lot of LIVE activities, from communities random events (people singing, dancing, skate-boarding, etc) to public events to celebrate the public holiday period. Thus, with full of local street food & street-style cultures, this is surely a perfect place to hang out & blend in with the locals :D
Overall, a very solid choice if you want to experience Saigon cultures

We did a walk and also observed this street from the roof of an open topped bus and it seems that no matter what night of the week, this street is alive with young people socialising and escaping the heat. There were competing sounds from various singers and djs and lots of hawkers selling balloons and glow products but the weirdest sight was a snake on the ground not far from a beautifully groomed cat on a harness. We stumbled upon a section where everyone displays their pampered pets. It’s loud and vibrant and worth a walk at night.

Really busy Walking Street. Soak up the atmosphere and enjoy. There are often street vendors and entertainment depending when you go (mainly around festival times). The street comes alive at night. Loads of restaurants and coffee shops that line the road. Few small negatives. They seem to permanently have events or doing some kind of construction work so a lot of the road gets blocked off and you have to walk all the way round to cross the road. Can get very crowded at times and impossible to walk or enjoy it. Look up at the buildings and you can get good photographs of the skyline. Be careful of the cars and motorbikes. Although the road is called a Walking Street, this is not always the case. Cars and motorbikes do pass along the road. They are blocked off sometimes during busy periods. Takes maybe ten to fifteen minutes to walk from one end to the other if you don't stop along the way.

HCMC visitors will not miss this place as it is located right in the city center as there are many attractions, hotels, restaurants and eateries, shops around. But we prefer to come here at night, first it's cooler and second, it looks nicer with the lightings of buildings than daytime.

Some of the key attractions here included the cafe apartment, a building of 7-storeys that houses cafeterias, all under one roof where you will be spoiled for choices. The People's Committee Building looks stunning and during our visit then, it was Christmas, many people were celebrating and road traffic was in a huge mess and you can feel the festivity spirit in the air! Then there's the shopping mall, bookstores, fashion shop etc, you will be occupied with something here!

It's a nice people where you can indulge and experience the local atmosphere, lifestyle, food culture and interact with the friendly locals!

Definitely take the time to visit this area -- nice place to stroll around, lots of retail and coffee shops. You can even walk down to view the river from this area.
The area is rather quiet during the day but towards dinnertime and on the weekends there are definitely more people and street artists.
Nice safe area for anyone to visit.

A rare treat - a pedestrian street which is actually free of traffic. Take a stroll all the way down to the river and back. All the expensive designer stores are located around here. The the top of the street is the statue of HCM himself with the local government building directly behind him.

Very nice Spot in district 1 to spend a peaceful evening. The Street is made of 2 roads with a very wide central vista 6-8 lane wide. One end is the river other end is the Beautiful Peoples committee building a architectural marvel. Fountain some nicely maintained gardens. Not overly crowded. Sufficient seating . Of course one can sit anywhere. One finds local youths practicing their skate boarding or some other things. If lucky you might come across some local group playing some nice music. All side roads typically gets blocked by evening so vehicle flow reduces. Many small street food vendors ply their trade. Side streets are filled with a wide choice of Eateries and watering holes. Walk able distance to most tourist spots of D1. Can also have a pleasant walk along the river.
Public toilets available underground.

A fantastic must see in Saigon at night when the roads are closed and the performers arrive. Beautiful lights and great shows with fire breathing, dancing, singing and more. Lots of great places to eat, lots to see and do. Great for the family or couples. A great night out.

I usually walk on Nguyen Hue Street (walking street) whenever I am visiting Ho Chi Minh City. I never seem to get tired of it. It's fun watching all the tourists and especially the Vietnamese. The people seem to enjoy their time, even though they don't appear to be doing anything in particular, just walking, laughing and sightseeing. The one thing you'll immediately notice is some amazing buildings, including the e an excursion away from Nguyen Hue St. to discover a quite different atmosphere, including beautiful ng to lure in customers. There are several small stores that are packed-- a great place to shop for things you may miss while traveling in foreign countries. I'm sure you'll enjoy your time at this great plaza (street).

Amazing how the locals, young and old, emerge when the sun sets and the weather cools. The skyscrapers lining the streets are colorfully illuminated, as pedestrians walk the promenade in the center of busy Nguyen Hue Street. This is a "what's happening" place, where you can locate numerous restaurants and the location of our hotel, The Saigon Prince. Enjoy the water fountain features which are playfully colorful, as are the flowers, and note the French Colonial "Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee" presiding at the far end, which is exquisitely lovely at night.
