I read some reviews and I don't understand why people say Mr Van the Man is exspensive , hello some people are never satisfied , he relaced my 2 wheels for less than $10 (labor ) and was prepared to work all night on them to get me on the road . The advantage is that Mr Van speaks good English , has a back ground passion for cycling and is there to service all your needs at a very low cost

We have been traveling all over Asia by bicycle for over a year and this is the first bike shop we have felt fully comfortable having our bikes worked on. Van, the owner and mechanic, is extremely passionate and knowledgeable about bikes, and very detail oriented. Not only did he assess and tune up our bikes with confident skill, but he taught us and explained what he was doing as we watched him work. He has a great selection of accessories and parts, and the prices are much cheaper than other bike shops in Saigon. We wished we had found him sooner in our travels because it would have saved us a lot of mechanical hassles along the way. The shop is conveniently located near the Pham Ngu Lao backpacker area as well.

I visited after e-mail contact about new tyres and tubes. Owner is a really friendly and helpful person. He even did some minor maintenance and repairs for free and told me about mechanical stuff regarding my kind of special bicycle even though I haven’t bought the tyres yet (which I will probably still do). You can easily see and feel that this man is really passionate about cycling, that he is knowledgeable and he sells some good quality parts.
Definitely recommended and a genuine big thumbs up! I would go there again any time.

Went to Saigon bike shop after reading all of the great reviews online. It did not disappoint in the slightest sense. Our original reason for going to the shop was to get a couple of bikes boxed up to send back to Canada. It ended up becoming much more of an experience however. Not only did the owner box up 2 bikes for us at a great price, he also bought one of them off of us after a shipping fiasco AND allowed us to keep them there at the shop for a week because we went to Dalat. Without this shop our vacation would of taken a much more difficult turn. Can't recommend it enough. Very knowledgeable and willing to help tourists out.

Really helpful team that doesn't rip tourists off.
everything is reasonable priced. I bought couple of gears to fix my broken bike and all is working well until now.

I needed to take my kid's bike back to the US. It was purchased here and the local shops don't have boxes as the do in the US. I called during a rainstorm and Mr. Van drove from his place in District one to our home in District 10 later that evening with a box, tools and tape and put it all together in a new airline regulation-style carton all for 400,000 VND (less than $18 USD). He was on time, polite, and very helpfully explained to the kid how to put it back together when we get it home.
This was after I spend three hours struggling in this sauna-like weather to try to make a box out of pieces of smaller boxes and not really knowing how to correctly disassemble the bike even after reading a few suggested methods on the internet. Sometimes, it just pays to ask someone who knows what they are doing to do it for you.
This doesn't really fit any of the ready-made categories. I have been living here for three years and I am moving back to the USA. this is a hard-to-find service in HCMC but many traveling bikers would appreciate using it.
