What a great little hang out. Just sit and observe all that's happening around you. There is so much to enjoy in Ho Chi Min

My hotel is a few yards away and I've seen the sign and know what it means. With time to kill before going to the airport I thought I'd get round to drinking there. Through the main entrance, it has a sign above the door saying bia hoi, I'm asked if I want green as she waves a bottle at me, no, bia hoi please.
There's a tank by the desk they pour into one or two litre jugs and they give you a glass with a chunk of ice in.
There is a woman breaking blocks of ice, there are a couple selling snacks plus who ever else walks in. You pay when you walk out, 12,000dong for a litre.
The receptionist at my hotel laughed when I said I was going in there. It's somewhere different, there are no tourists and no backpackers

I was here this night and everyone can get drink as much as they want, but the new owner is kind like a dictator, she didn't understand my handicap at all, directly when my friend left she begin to be strange to me and after 2 drinks i wasn't allowed to drink more. She is like a dictator what make people directly like outsiders.

Just a major waste of time and money. Nothing was good. Ordered at least 8 items for 4 adults and 1 kid. Everything comes in small servings enough for 2 or 3. The bill came up to 1,800,000. So freaking expensive for such tiny servings.
Sweet & sour crabs (550,000 dong) for 3 tiny dried crabs. Too much starch and slimy. Just horrible. The crabs are way toooooooo small.
Clay pot Clams with ginger soup...
the clams are not even as fresh as those by the street. Soup is only 1/4 filled. Ask for more soup and the waiter says "CANNOT add soup".
Fried rice with crab meat....
So dry and hard and you need to add lots of soy source otherwise it's practically tasteless.
Grilled prawns...
Soooooooo tiny the prawns are. More like baby shrimps. (Photos on the menu look so big)
Spring Rolls...
Tasted mushy but taste kinda ok.
Morning Glory (Kangkung)
Serving was just enough for 2 person. Bland and need to add your own soy sauce for better taste.
Grilled squids...
The only dish we enjoyed. But nothing spectacular
Grilled crabs...
again, 3 tiny crabs. Soooooooo super dry and super TINY.
Steam fish...
Didn't even arrive. Ask for it and the waiter says too many items already and didn't even inform us.
Steam rice for 5...
Just enough for 3 tiny bowls.
Will make sure we will not ever return.

Beer for less than a dollar...can't go wrong! Can find cheaper elsewhere in Vietnam, but come here to sit and drink beer with the locals and soak up the sounds and smells of Hanoi's old quarter in all its loud bustling glory!
(And don't be surprised if your chair gets suddenly whisked away from under your chair...the police are probably on their way!)
