tucked away in Cholon Q5 is a building that houses the 10000 Budda Temple. A really calm place to meander through. There is some shops in the laneway one has a cute fortune telling machine that is quite unique, check it out. Watch the local dogs they are suspicious of stangers, keep some distance and don't stare at them they will stay calm.

The thing about the Chua Van Phat - Temple of Ten Thousand Buddhas is that it so reminded us of the temple of ten thousand Buddhas in Penang. They are so alike in many many ways, it was uncanny. A few people doubt there are ten thousand Buddas, but most are small. With lots of climbing, as in the Kek Lok Si. This place is great, so do go and have a walk around.

A peaceful place to visit. Our taxi driver had no trouble finding the temple. Once you go up a few flight of stairs you enter a room with literally thousands of Buddha’s of various sizes.
I would recommend a visit to the temple as it won’t take a lot of time out of your day & is calming to sit & soak up the atmosphere.

I think there were less than 10 of us in the entire shrine. It is spectacular and quiet. Definitely an experience that builds up as you go from floor to floor.

The temple's neighbours have two aggressive guard dogs which sit at the entrance to the temple.

As you get close to the entrance, they bark at you and try to bite at your ankles.

Be careful when approaching the temple. You don't want to get bitten on your holiday.

The temple is a little hidden, you must enter an alley, which has no exit and the end is the entrance to the temple. Environment of much peace and prayer. You can climb all the floors and enjoy the beautiful images and altars.

even if this is small, the atmosphere inside the temple is magic. There can really be 10,000 Buddha in it, and the decoration are gorgeous.

I consider myself a non-practicing Buddhist. When I travel in Asia I make a point of seeking out as many local temples as I can.

This temple was truly a gem. It has several floors and as you go up, it just becomes more beautiful. This temple was hidden in Chinatown and at first, seemed like it would be a disappointment. However, as I took the time to really explore the temple, and as I made my way to the top, it was just amazing and one of the better city temples I've had the pleasure of seeing.
