Do not waste your time trying to book this cooking course until early 2015. They are relocating...which is a shame, as a friend recommended this company to me.

Cancelled class without advance notification
Sep 2014 • Solo
Horrible experience with SFCC. They cancelled the private cooking class I signed up for without informing me in advance. They were supposed to pick me up from my hotel at 2:30PM as we’ve agreed through email. It was already way past 2:30PM and still no pick up service. I decided to email them to tell them that I was already at the lobby, thinking they might have gotten lost or something. After a while, I got a reply saying they have to cancel because they were “forced to relocate”.

I thought it was utterly inconsiderate and unprofessional to not inform your client way ahead of time that the class was cancelled. I booked the class a week before and never heard anything from them until the day itself…they probably wouldn’t have informed me if I didn’t email them. So disrespectful of people’s time.

I was only staying in HCMC for a few days and planned my activities carefully and put so much thought into it because I wanted to enjoy my short stay. Them cancelling w/o notification was such a waste of time.

Of course I tried checking other places that offer cooking classes but of course, no one took me in because it was already too late to sign up for a class on the same day. If SFCC had the courtesy and decency to inform clients like me ahead of time that the class is cancelled, I could’ve made other plans…but they didn’t. So disappointed!

Excellent value, excellent experience.

We did this class two days ago. It was the second cooking class I'd taken in saigon, and definitely the better (and cheaper!) of the two. We were collected from our hotel, at a time requested by us, and taken to the local market, where 'Dad', our guide, was happy to answer our many questions, and was very informative.
The class was very laid back and very enjoyable, and the teacher patient and very skilled.
The class was meant to be 3 hours, but actually ran for 4 due to us taking a bit longer at the cooking, and generally being a bit slow!
Everyone spoke perfect English, and were great fun to be with. We would recommend to anyone as a 'must do' in the city.

Brilliant
Aug 2014
The cooking class has been the highlight do the trip to Saigon.
We were picked up at the hotel, went to the local market with all the foods and products explained to us then went on to the cooking class..

It was a brilliant experience especially for someone such as me who cannot cook!
We picked our menu and requested a few changes so we didn't have to have fish and this was no problem, we cooked spring rolls, pancake rolls and pork with rice and egg. It was a lovely experience and everyone was very friendly and kind - we are definitely going to attempt to try the recipe at home and would highly recommend this cooking class!

Fantastic experience
We were picked up from our hotel and our guide was excellent. We went to the local market and saw a fantastic range of foods meat fish and vegetables. We have never before experienced anything like this.
Next we went on to our cooking class. Our teacher was skilled patient and informative.
We had a fantastic morning and would urge you to try this cooking experience.

Take this class!
This class was a fantastic experience. It is very professional, and they have taken great time and effort to create menus that are tasty but easy to make.

We really enjoyed our private class and choosing our own menus. A great value as well!

This is one of our favorite experiences in Vietnam! If you are in Saigon, take this class!

A fantastic morning
Aug 2014 • Friends
My friend and I booked for the next day, and we are very glad we did. It was great to go to the market with someone able to explain to us about the different foods. We cooked spring rolls, chicken pho and pork in a clay pot. It was all delicious and we had masses of fun cooking it. They were very welcoming and made it a enjoyable, relaxed experience. It was affordable and I would recommend it. It was the highlight, and the perfect way to end, our trip to Ho Chi Minh.

One of my favourite parts of my entire trip

Thank you Dat and Chris! My girlfriend and I wanted to learn some traditional Vietnamese cooking. We were picked up at our hotel, taken to the market and taught a private cooking lesson.

We made spring rolls, pork vermicelli and claypot pork. The instructions were clear and thorough, the teachers were knowledgeable, I would 100% recommend this for your visit to HCM.

ONE OF THE HIGHLIGHTS OF OUR 3 WEEK TRIP!
Aug 2014 • Family
Like others we only booked @ 9pm the night before. We are SO glad we did. What a fun and interesting way to spend a morning (ended up being 5 hours!). My husband, our 14 yr old daughter and I absolutely loved our cooking class with Dat and Thi. They are both lovely young men - full of knowledge and advice and lots of laughter. The whole experience was very professional and extremely well organised. It was wonderful, and original, to be able to chose the dishes we wanted to cook. We chose spring rolls, Vietnamese pancakes and pork in a clay pot. As I don't eat meat, mushrooms and tofu were provided as an alternative to the pork. Very thoughtful - and delicious. We shall definitely be trying to recreate the dishes at home - Thi is going to email the recipes through and we ended up going back to the local market with Dat to buy coconut caramel, an ingredient I don't think I would find in the UK. Dat went way beyond the line of duty and not only helped us buy some bits and pieces in the market (bargaining beautifully on our behalf) but also showed us the way to our next venue (an art gallery) about an hour's walk!
Definitely one of the big highlights of our trip - our daughter particularly loved the class and Thi and Dat were both lovely with her. Thank you Dat and Thi for such a wonderful time - a lasting memory. Very, very highly recommended.
