About
The Observatory is a nightclub focusing on electronic music and a rooftop lounge and bar. It is located at the 10th floor of 85 Cách Mạng Tháng 8, District 1. Hosting a large range of both international and local acts, from DJs to live electronic musicians and bands, it's a place to enjoy the power of sound and music. To this we added a rooftop lounge, an exclusive view on the Saigon skyline, cocktails, wine and more to come. Stay tuned.

Nice venue, drinks around 200-250k dong each. Cool vibey layout with a garden theme and cool metal wave seating. Loungey house music. Security and staff were cool. Menu could use explanations of whats inside each drink for people with food allergies. Could also use a print out menu because the wall qr code is very hard to scan. Other than that nice non edm venue for Saigon.

Hidden away in a building by the Saigon river, overlook the beautiful Elisa dinning boat, follow the music up the 1st floor, free entrance for early birds then congrats youself, buy yourself a beer (and maybe one for your mate who invite you to come to the Obs / or me?), you are at the most mazing techno house in Saigon. Good vibes, many decent names have played here before all over the globe like Lotus Disco, StaRo, Marco Shuttle... Spacious dance floor with disco ball(s), indoor seatings with sofa options for those clingy couples next door or go outside the narrow bacony to smoke a fag with the hopeless romantics, who usually get lost in conversations to wait for the sun rises...
Sorry, did I talk to much? 10/10.

Huge sound system in such a small room. Best underground dance music in town.

The sign of its success is starting to show by the people it has served. Quality party people i'd call. First thing first, people here dance for themselves, not for show. Watching the remain of a crowd at dawn here sends chills through my spine. You'll have to discover the rest by yourself.

If you are looking for a safe environment this isn’t the place to go , lots of fights happened over there with people clearly more than drunk , the boss doesn’t to care about women safety and allows mens that are a real danger to women , nobody was here to help me when I needed someone to defend me against some guy harassing me , the boss insulted me and my friend with a big smile on his face .
Plus the music is not so good and I rather spend my money in a better place than this rat hole .
I advise you to found another place to have fun and still being safe .

I have lived in HCMC for over 2 years and my experience at the Observatory is usually great.

However my friends and I are SO disappointed with our most recent visit. We loved the inclusivity of the Genderfunk event, and have always enjoyed this venue. However, on this night the bar staff accidentally misplaced my bank card during a busy period. Rather than look for it, they just shook their heads and ignored me. After 30mins of this, they eventually located my card and it was returned to me very dirty, wet and useless (as I had to block it) without any kind of explanation or apology.

I did discuss the matter with the owner who seemed very stressed and overwhelmed, but was also sympathetic. I initially thought I was making some headway, but when discussing solutions, she only said "I have people downstairs to greet, what do you want me to do?!". She eventually agreed to serve me the two drinks I had already paid for, but I was made to feel like massive inconvenience for asking for this.

I hate to say this but this was honestly the worst night out I've had during my time in Saigon 😟 I do understand these things happen but surely treating your customers with respect should be a priority? I didn't ask for a refund, nor did I attempt to vindicate any of the staff - I just asked for clarity and new drinks. So so disappointed.

Yesterday night a friend of mine was shamefully humiliated by the club owner and his security staff for no reason. Unexplainable and unrealistic agressive behaviour. Don't support that guy by spending your nights there.

We were in Friday at 3am (it's suposed to close at 6 am) and it was closed already. The staff was rude and sarcastic with us even though we took a taxi just to go there. It was a waste of time and money. Don't go there, stick to Lush or Apocalypse Now...

The view is nice indeed, people inside are nice indeed, but the staff is still living in the 70th with the french occupation, nothing happened to me personally but a guy was very violently by the staff without being able to explain anything, not the Saigon vibe at all, my girlfriend told me she would never go back to this place

Its been a blast goign there for almost 2 years, crowd has changed, djs have changed, but the spirit is still there. I m sad its closing soon and i hope they will re-open quickly and keep doing the Jungle party. If i could advise one thing on the new venue it would be a bigger balcony
Security are not very nice and plays tough guys too much...
