Though geographically close to Ben Thanh Market, this artisan shop couldn't be further away in terms of shopping experiences.
Quiet, air-conditioned, and staffed by very polite and inobtrusive assistants, the House of Saigon stocks a number of unique fashion-items and household-goods which are perfect for souvenir hunting.
All prices are fixed (so no haggling anxiety involved for anyone), and though they may be slightly higher than street or market stalls, the quality is commensurate to price.
Another gem can be found at their upstairs tasting area for tea. The staff are more than happy to prepare samples of some of the teas specific to the region of Vietnam for you to try.
I didn't get a chance to visit their in-house cafe at the top of the shop -- something I will have to do next time, as I will definitely be returning on my subsequent trips to HCMC.

The House of Saigon is a beautiful gift shop that includes souvenirs, Tea, wooden crockery and table wear and stone/porcelain crockery and table wear, stone coffee filter, women's clothing and art. The staff are very friendly, welcoming and helpful. I visited this store three times while I was in Vietnam for a month in February. There is several levels, on the third level there is a lovely girl who allows you to try the teas that are on offer for sale there, the Jasmine Tea is DELICIOUS (I went home with three boxes) as is the Pandan Tea, highly recommend both trying and purchasing the tea. The fourth level is the Bizu Cafe, which is delightful! Again the guy who served us was very friendly and welcoming!
I would highly recommend anyone visiting HCMC to visit House of Saigon!
Great souvenirs, and homewares that are different to anything else you will find in HCMC!

I found quite a few unusual gifts here that I have not seen anywhere else in the city. My favorite were sweet little Christmas ornaments made out of cinnamon bark. By far, the nicest selection of quality handmade craft I've found in HCMC. It is also a nice quiet respite from the craziness of Ben Thanh Market. My salesperson was very helpful and patient. Considering the quality and genuine handmade in Saigon, I was happy with the prices. They also accept credit cards, a huge plus!

Great place for Vietnamese handmade products. Prices are fantastic and they have clothing, home decor, and accessories.
I didn't care for the overbearing staff who followed me often.

A treasure trove of gifts, fashion and homewares for everyone at every price point. So much better than shopping in the markets. Staff are friendly and knowledgable about the products. They stock the incredible Fashion4Freedom carved wooden platform shoes amongst other locally handcrafted pieces. Good thing there is a cafe there too, you will need a break between purchases!

The workers there have great English, there was tea tasting, and plenty of non-gimmicky souvenirs that were really affordable. Would definitely recommend a visit!

The interior design is amazing; a fusion of modern and traditional design. The tea tasting area is very nice as well and the staff is very accommodating. Some pf the items are on the pricey side but the quality is great.

Yes I called this place "adorbs" as it's just that...short, chic and ultra adorable. And the staff is the same. I love this little place that had "just the right thing" for everyone on my list...ME.
Seriously, in the hustle and bustle of Ho Chi Minh City this place was just what I needed...quiet, cheerful and fun. I picked up a great little canvas bag, and to be honest I would have taken more things except I have luggage limitations and have more things to buy in other cities. If you have the time (or even if you don't ...MAKE it) and check out this trendy adorable shop. They even have home goods and clothes.

We have been to The House of Saigon for some souvenir shopping on our last day in Vietnam. The atmosphere is quite nice and they offer a good selection of typical and fine Vietnamese products for all categories (e.g. scarfs, tea, coffee, clothes, ...). It makes it easy to find a good gift for almost everyone if you are not looking for something too special (like dedicated handmade crafts etc). Also, the staff is friendly and helpful but not pushy at all about selling anything so it might feel more relaxed for people who are too overwhelmed by other places like Ben Than market. Prices might be slightly higher than somewhere else, but at least you can trust the products and quality they sell.
