Small but quaint
Feb 2020 • Couples
In the middle of a residential block this pagoda suddenly appears. There is a 2 story building where people pray plus some potted plants and trees. Nice to come across.

golden spring weeping willow calm in the storm
Jan 2020
The pagoda is tastefully decorated. It is a classic and balanced building. But you cannot enter nor can you climb up inside. There are locked gates. The temple grounds are worth strolling around. During lunar new year, the gardens are full of yellow flowering trees and huge pots of yellow chrysanthemums. The actual temple on the second level is small, almost personal, and the Buddha who dominates the wall is a classic ageless bronze massive. There are story panels on the walls with a helpful guide to the life of the Buddha.
A weeping willow and some starfruit trees help to add grace and with the statues provides a calm atmosphere away from the Saigon traffic.

What a quiet place in the centre of a busy and bustling big city. At Xa Loi Pagoda you can be sincere in front of the Goddess of Mercy to relax your heart

Worth a visit to get an insight
Jan 2020
Worth visiting it not to get an insight of the recent history of the country and the events that shaped the city and in turn the country. Visit with a guide who can provide that insight which you may not get if you visited on your own

Nice Buddhist temple
Jan 2020 • Friends
Quite a pretty temple. Pity there is nothing in English to explain about it more. Quite a bit out from the centre.

Great place to visit and spend a while
Feb 2019 • Solo
I liked Xa Loi Pagoda very much.
It has a great garden, filled with flowers and bonsai trees. There are also benches where you can sit and enjoy the atmosphere. There’s big Kuan Yin statue at one entrance (you can enter/exit from at least 3 different gates), and this is the place where people pray and prostrate upon entering.
The place also contains a library/gift shop, big actual Pagoda at the left-hand side and the actual Temple building in front.
During my stay in Vietnam, I learnt that for them Temples are more communal places, while Pagodas are Buddhist and/or Thaoist temples. Hence, this Pagoda is actually a great Temple which also contains pagoda...
The place is really beautiful, and it’s very peaceful.
Come here early in the morning to enjoy the garden and renew your energy.

Nice looking temple
Nov 2018 • Couples
It is a clean and nice looking temple, however it is not impressive; very normal and common throughout SEA.

We are of the view that it is a place one can go if you run out of place to visit in HCMC.

It is out of the ways, there is nothing in between this temple and temple does not posses the we must see it factor.
