embracing the British tea tradition
Nov 2019 • Friends
I am not British but I always love to act a little British when I have my English tea and scones. And at Villa Royale you can enjoy the high tea session at the fullest.
We had tea in lovely tea potts (every one had their own unique set) and an etagère with sandwiches, cupcakes and...the best for last...fresh scones with strawberry jam and whipped cream. Sooo delicious.
Not to mention the nice setting of an antique cafe with heavy purple couches/chairs!

A Hidden Oasis filled with Antiques
Oct 2019 • Friends
It's a hidden oasis in Thao Dien. There are so many antiques at this place so I felt like I was in an art museum. They have some food as well as many kinds of tea and cakes. If you are looking for a place to have a good time in a peaceful environment, this place would be highly recommended!

Great ambiance and services
Nov 2018
The location is a bit difficult to find, but it's definitely worth the trouble.
The house is magnificently decorated with paintings and antiques. The high tea set is a generous serving of pastries but on a high price as well.

Totally lovely
Jan 2019 • Couples
We went out to enjoy a high tea, something we started years ago in Singapore, and we try and find one when we can.... this place was amazing.

Bit hard to find, our taxi driver went right past it, but once we found it and went inside we were transported back to a simpler, slower time and place.

The decor is antiques.... floor to ceiling, objects d'arts large and small. Huge couches, armchairs and comfortable chairs surround nice large tables.

We ordered the high tea for 2... and when it came out with our teas of choice it was omg!

The finger sandwiches so fresh and soft with the crusts cut off. Small cakes, tarts etc all so very tasty.... we struggled to get through it.

The girls working here were lovely, friendly and smiling as does everyone in Vietnam.

In short we loved it.

2nd Visit
Oct 2018
Following on from our lovely lunch the previous week, we decided that we would visit Villa Royale in District 2. David Campbell, the owner of Villa Royale had told us he would be there on the day we intended to go. Once again lovely host, yummy food and great ambience.

The choice of teas is amazing and really appealing. Price is in line with what you get.
Atmosphere is really old fashioned.

Service friendly but slow.

A delight in Ho Chi Minh
Dec 2017 • Friends
Whilst visiting Vietnam I had the pleasure of afternoon tea at Villa Royale both D1 and D2 on my trip. They are such lovely spots and the Australian owner is an accomplished renowned chef and is the most charming and witty character and makes you feel right at home. The staff are lovely and the food is 5 star. Such a great place for a casual morning or afternoon tea, or lunch. I'll be back next time I'm in Ho Chi Minh.
