Came to Rex hotel to take a look because of the history behind it during the war and it being a place the journalists were based. We had a lovely Saigon beer on the roof top and surveyed the sights of Ho Ch Min City.

Saw lots of news reports from here during the war. Now it's just a nice rooftop bar with good views - of the former CIA Station (from which the helicopters took off at Saigon fell), of the pedestrian street (including HCM statue below) and of the Saigon skyline. Worth visiting for the vicarious nostalgia.

After a trip to the Cu Chi tunnels we cleaned ourselves up for a cocktail at this historic bar, grabbing a table on the balcony with a great view down on the square. Yes it is pricey for Vietnam, so we decided to go all in for the jumbo Mojito which was very good! Great staff, and the live music was also great, highly recommended (if you're not keeping an eye on costs).

We were exploring Ho Chi Minh City/Saigon on our first night and stopped here for a cocktail overlooking the city's main pedestrianised Street. Well worth it. From here you have a wonderful view of the colourful new skyscrapers, the city hall and the statue of good ol' uncle Ho. Perhaps the rooftop bar has lost a little of it colonial feel but still a great vantage point. Happy hour (2 for 1) until 7.00pm but cocktails are reasonably priced by western standards in any event. I would recommend this bar and also that at the Hotel Majestic, which overlooks the river.

Overpriced, but a Place you have to attend. As aNorwegian I cannot complain paying a beer the same price as at home. Good atmosphere - fantastic view at night time. good music.
