About
À Ố Show is one of Vietnamese Bamboo Circus performances. À Ố - derives from Làng Phố, which means ‘village and city’. À Ố Show tells a captivating story of the transition from the peaceful life of the countryside to the fast-paced metropolitan life of modern Southern Vietnam. The soul of village life and, in stark contrast, familiar scenes from the city, are beautifully brought to life -- with bamboo! The stunning simplicity of the bamboo props frames an awe-inspiring circus featuring acrobatics, contortion, juggling, and stunting. Throughout the show, both traditional and modern music harmonize richly, performed live with 17 musical instruments. À Ố Show has become a world-renowned circus, critically acclaimed in 11 countries.

Watched AO show ten years ago and remembered being utterly impressed with it.
Watched it at Hoi An too but the one here at Saigon just felt funnier and more impactful.
Watching it ten years later with our kids now and they loved it too, especially the "inverted tortoise". Loved that the new version added new interactive elements, where the performers interacted with audience and got some audience participation.
What can be improved?
With the renovation going on, the waiting/holding area where they were giving out complimentary drinks before the show has been pushed to the balcony side of the theatre. Being a dead end, it was a little tight with audiences intuitively wandering towards the balcony / dead end after getting their drinks, wondering where they should head to. Some audiences with second floor seats did not know where to head to, too. It was made more confusing as some audiences collected alcohol, while others wondered if those were complimentary. We stood there for a while and observed that the waiting area was a little chaotic.
Maybe a clear indication of the two types of tickets (i.e. alcohol versus non-alcohol) and a map of direction/ traffic flow printed on the back of the ticket would help.

I don't like Cirque de Soleil and this is not that. These men and women do amazing acrobatic things with baskets and poles. The show is only about an hour. I sat in the 'Wow" section which is lower balcony but wish I'd gone for the cheaper seats right in front of stage. Not a dull moment

Much better than anticipated. I went in expecting a low budget knockoff of a Cirque du Soleil show but was blown away with the talent and creativity of the performers. Although the entire length of the show, coming in at a little more than an hour, may sound short, there was so much going with all the various vignettes that it felt like an appropriate length.

The A O Show at the Saigon Opera House is a stunning celebration of Vietnamese culture. The performers are incredibly talented and the blending of traditional and modern elements is truly captivating. I highly recommend this show - five stars!

The cast and crew have written, composed, and choreographed a wonderful depiction of days gone by mixed with some modern scenes. Found the entire experience mesmerising, emotional, beautiful, even humourous! The music is recreated live each show and adds incredible texture to the performances. Highly recommend..

This show is well done and entertaining. However, I wouldn't call it a must see and it is not as well done as cirque du soleil in Canada/US. Good show but not the same quality of acrobatics. I’ve heard AO described as the Asian version of Cirque but do not go expecting that or you will be disappointed.

We enjoyed the AO Show during our week in and around Saigon. The Opera House is a beautiful building and well suits the production. The show is energetic, with a story very loosely based on Vietnam society.
It runs for an hour or just over. Tickets range from $700,000 VND to $1,600,000 VND. We opted for the $700,000 VND seats (just under $50 AUD ea) which were good enough. We turned up the previous night, but the show had sold out. So best to get tickets at least a day or 2 before. Enjoy...

We booked 3 weeks in advance 2 tickets (50$ ) for o a show. Our fly was 24h delayed so we write a mail for changing our tickets for a new date but received no answer. When we arrived at Ho chi minh, we came to the luneproduction office but they just accept to do 20% reduction on news tickets, no refund, no exchange possible, even with proof of the delay of our fly by airline attestation! So, don t reserve tickets in advance by internet!

Dear mel2018263,
Thank you very much for the review.
First of all, we would like to express our most sincere apology if the experience disappointed you. We completely understand your frustration.
Unfortunately tickets are non-refundable and non-exchangeable regardless of any circumstances. These Terms and Conditions which were advised and required to acknowledge by the time of booking. We are sorry if our solution did not meet your expectations but your case was recored as a No show situation and the seats were held unchanged during the whole performance.
Moreover, after checking, we found no email from you besides the one that asked about the E-ticket and our team responded right after receiving it. We are not sure if your second email was sent to the right address or due to any internet corruption, it didn't reach us properly.
Again, we are so sorry for the experience but we had done the best we could to support you. We seek for your kind understanding in this matter.
Kind regards,
Lune Production Team

As described by my son (aged 7): “Absolutely amazing, not one single bit of it I didn’t like. It told a story whilst being acrobatical!”
Daughter (aged 8): “Just so entertaining. It had loads of different meanings. I absolutely loved it.”
Very few things would appeal as much to adults as kids. This show is probably the best thing I have ever seen on the stage. Moving, full of humour, super impressive.
Completely worth the money and I would definitely watch this again.

If you are looking for a "different" night out this is absolutely worthwhile. Having watched many Circle de Soleil events this production appeared some times a little slow. You will however enjoy the many acts by the very disciplined group in this beautiful opera house.

What's the difference between the wow seats (purple) and the ooh seats (green)? Because both are central!?

The wow seats come with a drink ticket and a tour, you sit in the balcony. Much of the action is at back of the stage. From the balcony you can see it all. The other seats are on the floor, close to the action or far away, with less perspective as you are at or below stage. Makes a difference which you prefer and whether you like floor or balcony.

Hello the team. I have watched the show today in Hoi An and enjoyed it very much. However I'd like to have some main guidelines to understand more about the storyline (I know it is about the life of highland tribes in Tay Nguyen but more details would be welcome :)). Thankssss

I would need to see it again to follow the story. I was simply enthralled by the fantastic skills on show when I saw it in Saigon
