This is one of the oldest clubs in the area and one of the closest to Saigon city center (45 minutes by car), so it gets a lot of play from both local golfers as well as expats. The courses are a little worn down as result, but still in decent shape.

There are two 18 hole courses here; east and west. The west course is more demanding off the tee, with tighter fairways and longer par 3s. The more popular east course is more foregiving of wayward tee shorts and has shorter par 3s, but the greens are much more undulating/challenging.

The development has a solid facilities, including a full practice range, a recently renovated clubhouse and a good restaurant. It also has some of the best caddies anywhere in Vietnam in terms of experience and language skills.

So why am I only giving 3 stars?

One problem (which is quite typical of golf courses in Vietnam) is lax management in terms of enforcing rules, tee times and pace of play. I can't tell you how many times I've watched in dismay as a group high handicappers hit from the blue tees even though none of them can drive the ball 200 yards. Don't expect to finish you round in less than 4.5 hours.

The other problem is the price. Weekdays will cost around $80-$100 for 18 holes and caddy fee (an additional caddy tip of around 250,000 VND is expected) Weekend prices will be upwards of $150.

Those fees imply a premium quality resort course. What you actually get is nothing to write home about. Greens do roll pretty well for a Southeast Asian course, but the overall conditions (fairways, tee boxes, bunkers) are merely decent, not great. Likewise, the scenery and aesthetic aspects are OK but nothing special, as the terrain is pretty flat and devoid of interesting views or really memorable holes.

If you really want to play golf in this area, I would recommend either Twin Doves (in Binh Duong province) or Long Thanh (Dong Nai province). Both are a bit farther from the city center (additional 20 minutes or so) but you can play for less than $60 on weekdays. You also get better course conditions (especially at Twin Doves) and more interesting scenery (especially at Long Thanh).

This is a fairly decent matured golf course about 1hr away from HCM as traffic gets terrible after 8am. The trick is to tee off as early as 6am if possible as sunrise in HCM begins around that time. This helps to beat the heat as well as the traffic. In addition, do not play on a Monday which normally is a discounted day, the human traffic in the golf course is ridiculous. Almost every hole has about 3 flights of golfers waiting. Overall I would recommend this golf course if you looking for a game to play but please try Long Thanh golf course first, and then Vietnam CC. You can give Songbe a miss.

A really nice lay-out and design. I've played both courses here and the West Course is by far the better one of the 2. The fairways are all nicely manicured and on the East Course you can play it a bit more wide where the West Course is a bit tighter in the lay-out.

A bit more water on the East Course which does pose a different problem. With regards to the greens, not a difficult choice, play the West Course as they are a lot more foregiving and a lot less undulating. Had complaints all round in our group regarding the East Course greens, where you have it easier of the tee, you are more likely to have more 3 puts if you miss the hole on the greens.

The refreshment stops are really good and regular, easy to get what you want and a plastic glass filled with ice for the walks.

If you do look for another course, have a look at Long Thanh, but make sure you book as part of a group.

Course was in extremely poor condition (East + West) when I played 9 Jan 2020.
Did not justify the 1.9m dong (approx $100) green fee charged for this course as a visitor which is way too much.
Would not play here again there are much better courses elsewhere (Sân Golf Tân Sơn Nhất)
Dry bare fairways littered with divot marks, oversanded bumpy greens, poorly maintained tee box areas devoid of grass, inadequate flood lighting (played back nine under flood lights) making difficult to see.
Course is clearly overplayed day and night with too many golfers on the course making it a long slow round +4.5hrs.
Maintenance unable to keep course in good condition despite premium rates charged to visitors.
Place has potential but clearly owners see it as a cash cow that just generates income to the detriment of an enjoyable golfing experience.

Everything was so good from reception to caddy, to course and after game drink and meal. I didn't go to Vietnam to play golf but couldn't resist a look at the course. I was encouraged to play and thoroughly enjoyed the experience, good set of clubs, knowledgeable caddy, superb food and cheaper than many courses in UK. Even the taxi was waiting for me when I had finished something I never requested.

Played here many times because it is close to my home. Both courses are overpriced compared to all the other courses in HCMC. They do have promotion days which makes it worth playing though. Unfortunately the Promotion posted on the board at the club does not always reflect what is the real thing. When asking the manager why, when it clearly states that a discount is offered, you’ll get the typical Vietnamese reply, it is not my fault. Had to pay full price of course so do check before the round that the discount is actually valid before you play.

poor experience. They drive you around randomly. And we spent a lot of time waiting. Caddie is poor knowledge. Bad attitude. Bad experience.

The Vietnam Golf resort is about 45 minutes drive from HoChi Minh centre . Although the golf course is well maintained , its design is old and uninteresting .
What turned a mediocre 18 holes into a “rip off “ was the cost . The package was for “golf 18 holes plus lunch “ . My tee time was 11 am . I finished at 2 :45 pm . I was then told that lunch was only available between 10 am and 2 pm .!!
But I still had to pay for lunch and the Manager was not available !
Never again.

Visited twice during the trips to Saigon. The course is just half an hour by car from Saigon downtown. Good landscaping, peaceful surrounding, nice fairways and greens. Caddies are all well trained and helpful. Value for money, and highly recomended.

The course is nice to play. Drive range easy to access. Dining facilities very average in term of quality of local food. This place seems well and better organized for big group than couples.
