An absolutely heavenly experience at the Aveda spa in ho chi minh city!
The Ayurvedic massage and shirodhara relieve you of all the stresses - physical and mental!
Everyone at the spa takes such good and personal care of you.. makes you want that it doesn't end at all.
Book early to avoid disappointment. Am surely going to make further trips to Saigon just to go to the spa again.
Well done, Aveda !

I had never imagined Ayurveda treatment just like in South India DOES EXIST in Vietnam. I did the Aveda Signature package, especially enjoying Shirodhara and Herbal Steam. I spent 3 wks Ayurveda course in South India and found the material, environment and treatment in Aveda Spa is just like that in India, though the staff are all local except the owner. Staffs are well trained and passionate about the work. I could go only one day but if you stay in HCMC longer, I would suggest you visiting a couple days. I did not get a chance but saw they selling Ayurveda products from India. Some of my advice is the traffic, better to calculate the busy hours, and the booking, better to do earlier if you want to go to weekend.

I had found Aveda Herbal Spa via Tripadvisor.
Booked for today an 2 hour package Ayurveda Treatment at Aveda Spa.
Aveda (nice lady) is the owner of Aveda Herbal Spa. She is from India but since several years in Vietnam. Her english is very good. She had been trained in India for Ayurveda treatments. Aveda had opened Aveda Herbal Spa 2 years ago in a small littel house (there is no lift). It is about 15 min by taxi from Hcmh city. Taxi costs around 120,000 VND.
When i arrived at Aveda Herbal Spa, Aveda recommended me some Panchakarma treatments such as Abhyanga and Sirodhara. As i am familiar with Ayurveda i had choosen this package for two hours. Aveda asked some questions to define the type Kapha, Pitta or Vata. This is only done if you choose an Ayurveda treatment.
Aveda and her assistant (female) started with the Abhyanga. Synchroned 4 hand massage with warm herb oil were smoothing my body. I was so relaxed that i slept most of the time. This took
about 1 hour. After that i had the Sirodhara. Lying on the bed, warm oil was puring on my head. I thought i will sleep again, but suddenly i felt very awake. Believe that the warm oil took all my stress from my mind and my brain seemed like refreshed.
After that i had for 10 minutes a steam bath, but the head is out of the hot steam. Like this the oil can work into your body.
Pls put old clothes on as even after the shower, you are somehow still oily, especially the hair.
The treatments very professionell and everything was clean. I was for two hours in another world peaceful and happy. I am feeling so well. I am on a business trip and therefore just booked another treatment in two days. I am really looking forward.
This package cost 1.3 Mio VND worth the money. I highly can recomment Aveda Herbal Spa.
If you do not want to do Ayurveda Massage, they offer as well Massage with Oil, Hot stone etc.
But if you can try the Ayurveda treatments, it is an experience you do not want to miss anymore.

I had a full body aroma therapy massage and then a srirodeha massage afterwards. Great body massage, good pressure and nice technique. The room was fine and the temperature options great as I like the option to have coolish air when I have a massage and not be too warm. The srirodeha lasted longer then I’m used to, it was half an hour or so which was great. I was taken downstairs for my hair to be washed and the whole procedure was very enjoyable and relaxing.

I had a henna treatment done at Aveda yesterday which was excellent as usual. While I waited for the henna to soak in, I decided to try out their Rehydrating Divya facial. I went in not knowing what to expect. But it turned out to be a wonderful experience. Set in a quiet room smelling of lemongrass, the facial includes cleansing, steaming, a face pack, electrical impulse treatment and so many levels of facial massage that I lost count ( this may have something do with the fact that I fell asleep during this ultra- relaxing treatment). My skin is still glowing 24 hours after the facial. Highly recommended!

Having read the reviews I had to come to Aveda. I had long wanted to experience the four hands massage and the oil on the forehead treatment. It was a long cab ride from Dong Khoi, 135VD. The setting is lovely and the owner gracious in her attention. One is given a cold herbal tea on arrival and fill in a form to help determine your herbs being used. I opted for the full two and a half hour signature treatment which included the four hands massage, the oil on the forehead, a steam and hair wash and dry. It was a gentle, clean and well laid out process. Sadly the massage was not as strong as I had hoped for. One practitioner was ok the other barely put any pressure at all in it so it was more of an 'efflurage' massage of the lightest degree. Perhaps I should have asked for more pressure but I felt they knew what they were doing so I left it. The oil massage was .......nice enough. But again perhaps not the WOW that I was expecting. Just nice warm oil being drizzled across my forehead for an hour. Nothing more. I didn't sleep although it was relaxing. The short steam in the portable steam chair was nice and allowed the oil to be absorbed into my skin. Then a shower and off to get my hair washed as of course it was full of oil. Again, nice enough but absolutely did not get the oil out so I would advise you not to have this treatment if you are heading out somewhere after. I left the oil in overnight and then re washed the next day and my hair was nice and soft. Having had a couple of other spas in Saigon the one million six hundred dong I paid for this signature treatment was a lot and perhaps I had been hoping for a really deep massage and AMAZING experience. It was neither. It was simply, ........ nice.

I have been a regular spa user for the past 10 years having lived in Singapore, Thailand, Vietnam.
On a recent weekend visit from Singapore, I heard about a new Spa called Aveda Herbal Spa that has opened in District 2 of HCMC and decided to try it out. It turned out to be a wonderful 2 and a half hours at the spa where I did the head champi and foot treatment and aroma body massage. The place gives a calming, peaceful, almost spiritual feeling and the staff is the most gentle and caring I have seen at any spa. The experience left me completely rejuvenated and I am waiting to be back in Saigon for my next weekend golfing trip when I can visit Aveda again.

This was referred to me by one of my friend and it turned out be a wonderful experience. I am new to Saigon and tried many other massages but this was truly different & very relaxing experience in a small and cozy ambiance! I only remember first few minutes where the owner of the Spa asked me some questions to determine my body type and then I had to follow few instructions on different body positions & after that my body felt so light that I didn't even realize when I went to sleep. In between i was woken up to change the bed for Shirodhara (third eye treatment), where i felt some pleasantly warm oil trickling down on my forehead and once again I went into deep slumber and had to be shaken up again to take aroma steam bath with some good smell of herbs. In the beginning, when the staff informed me of 2 hours treatment, it felt bit too long for a massage but I finally ended up spending almost 3 hours with a feeling that it should have lasted even longer. Feel like going back some time soon for the truly amazing experience!
