Had an easy day excursion out to Monkey Island. We did it ourselves and it is a decent day out. Definitely take the boat out first to the camp and then walk back as it can get quite complicated to get boat tickets. It is quite a good spot to experience the mangroves and some of the Vietnamese culture as well as the Wildlife. Whilst the monkeys are interesting it is still worth keeping a distance especially with young children as they are wild animals.

I was nervous at first about traveling through the city traffic but our drivers and guide were so skilled at manoeuvring amongst the crowds that I quickly relaxed. This was the best fun and most insightful tour. We chose the China town option and just loved it.

A villa to ourselves, 2 expansive rooms with air conditioning availability, although breezes were always available...The homes were less than 10 years old and built in a similar fashion in the Can Tho region of the Mekong River of Vietnam... Our hygiene area was outdoors. Illuminated double sinks, pedestal tub and drying racks. We would step out under the sky to the shower while standing on flat stones next to a garden of greenery.... Once we were ready to exit our place with its covered porch... we'd walk the pathway of brickwork over bridges, where monkey or 3 might meet you! The area was as if we were in a forest, providing plenty of shade. The walking paths undulate throughout the 12 hectares dedicated to Poulos Condor Resort and Spa Hotel. Beach front with tide moving in and out. Bonfire on Beach for the New Year 2020. # venues to grab a bite to eat. Full service spa with shower, area to soak and entire catalog of services available. Most entries were up a set of steps and did not seem friendly to those in wheelchairs. There is kayak, classes, pool, MOUNTAINS! shuttle to town, near the airport, but no noise, Quiet...restful...come see....

I was mostly interested in the hike and unfortunately it was the less interesting part of the tour. We went first to the Cao Dai Temple, and it was interesting and quite unique. The religion is only 100years old. We reached the mountain at 1pm and it was already very hot. If you want to climb the moutain ask the guide to start by this part first thing in the morning. We took the cable car to go half way up to the mountain, which has a nice / temple pagoda. There are a lot of constructions going on (new buildings) so that took away some of the peace and charm of the place. We then starting the climb, it is a narrow, steep and rocky path. What was very sad was that the path is literally littered by empty plastic bottles. It was litterally a lot more dirty than saigon's streets. At mid point we ran out of water and had to come down. We could have bought more bottles at the temples but we were not told that it would such a hard and long hike : heat, steep, rocky. I won't come back to this mountain,at least until I hear that the path is cleaned up by the mountain organisation. Our guide English was excellent, knowledgeable, the car comfortable and the drive was smooth.
