Great place to play Pokemon GO during community days! Lots of pokestops and a few gyms. If not for the game I would consider it a normal park with a lot of locals using it for small events, to play with their children, etc.

Nice park to walk in and features exercise equipment. Get there early in the morning and join a tai chi or aerobics class!

A big park stumbled by accident during walking from Independent Palace in the afternoon with nothing particular in mind, except where to have our lunch. Relaxing & breezy, good place for people watching too. Not really clean since there are many rats scurrying around.

Visited this delightful park early in the morning (about 7am) and there were many people out stretching, doing tai chi (Or something similar) and playing shuttle cock. It is a well maintained park with trees and plants, and well maintained paths. Also a play area...More

It was quiet this time of day. But I liked it because the noise of the city muted a bit. And I have to go back again in the early mornings I was told to see all the birds.

Tao Dan Bird Cafe (13 Replies)
Good Morning all, So close to arriving in Vietnam now and I am so excited!! I was just wondering whether the bird cafe is easily located within Tao Dan park? Which section of the park is it in? Also, when is the best time to visit- I assume early am? Thank you in advance Crawlabout

Not only is it cooler at that hour but the birds are more active then. In fact getting up early is what Vietnamese do and its the best part of the day if you want to see how the real Vietnamese people live. Too often tourists only rub shoulders with those in the tourism industry and miss out on so much because of that. Get up at 5am and enjoy the vibrance of Saigon at that hour. You can always retreat to the coolness of your aircon room during the hot part of the day and have a siesta, its...More

Martial Arts Fan Dancers (0 Replies)
Walking in Tao Dan Park the other day, I saw some ladies practicing what looked like martial arts moves while holding fans. It was very very cool! Anyone know of a place to participate/learn that type of movement? Tao Dan Park is full of interesting things going on!
