About
This is a nice little local park for an evening walk with several places, where locals dance classic dancing. In addition to this local student approach foreigners to train their English, and this is a very interesting way to learn about the city, the people, and the country. Though only sparsely lit, it is very safe and cosy.

Nice playground
Jan 2020 • Family
A nice playground for small children with a lot of activities in the shade. It is a little bit dirty though.

Stroll Through After Bui Vien Street
Jun 2019 • Friends
A nice park to stroll through on the way back to the hotel after visiting Bui Vien Walking Street.

There’s a few rats running about the place and lots of weird characters hanging about but we didn’t get bothered by either.

Probably wouldn’t walk through it on my own at night but other than that a nice area. Better to be visited in the day time I reckon!

Park life
Nov 2018 • Friends
What I like about HCM is that this is a green city. Lots of small parks just to stroll around without all the traffic. What is not very nice is all the plastic on some grounds. Pls keep it clean.

A good place to relax and people watch
Jul 2018 • Friends
Everytime I come back to Saigon, my favourite part of the day is sitting at the park with my guitar and playing while watching the locals do their thing from playing badminton or kicking the bamboo hacky sack or doing their exercises. I enjoy it. It's a great to relax. Also, from time to time you will get the young Vietnamese come up and practice their English which is great as you learn more about each other and share each others culture. Sure there maybe some dodgy looking characters but most of the time they will leave you alone. Overall it's a great place to kill some time and relax.

Enjoyable place to meet young people.

I have gone to the Cong Vien 23/9 (23/9 Park) many times. Sometimes I have gone when I’m bored and lonely and sometimes when I just want to talk. Usually, all you have to do is sit on a bench for a few minutes and students wanting to speak English will approach you. In most cases these are lively young people who are passionate about leaning English. All they want to do is talk. While you and they talk they learn and you learn about their lives, ambitions, families, Vietnamese culture in the process. It is an enriching experience for the students and for the foreigner who talks and learns from them. There are a few hustlers and prostitutes who occasionally come by, but this is rare and these people are relatively easy to spot and avoid. For the most part, going to 23/9 Park is an enriching and enjoyable experiences.

Nice park
Nov 2017 • Solo
Popular park for relaxation and exercise like badminton, jogging, football and dancing. On occasions there are festivals and celebrations organized in the park. But there are many robbers and trash you have to advoid.

Family Time

I haven't come back here for 5 years since the day our family moved to the new country but it's still in my mind to remember the great time with my family when the Lunar New Year comes and we attended here because they have a big Flower Festival at the park few days before the New Year. That's a part of my life, that's all about my memory and unforgettable.

Not the greenest of parks but a nice place to relax
Mar 2017 • Couples
The park is not very green. There's a small grassy area with benches all around. The rest of the park is like a concrete island with a few exercise machines.

My husband and I went to this park twice on our last day in HCMC. We were walking past the park to go and get breakfast and noticed that they had a food festival going on so we got tea and crepes from there instead.

We went to find a bench to sit on and we saw some people practicing their violins and some squirrels on a nearby tree.

It's not a big or green park like Hyde Park in London or Central Park in NY but it has a bit of green and some interesting things if you go on the weekend or in the evening it seems.

We were walking past the park to go back to the hotel in the evening on the same day and there was a free mini concert going on so we sat in the park and listened for a bit before going back to our hotel. This was on a Saturday but they may have things going on on other days as well.

Can't Avoid
Mar 2017 • Friends
This park is in the center of what is happening in and around downtown HCMC. Unfortunately, a chunk of the park has been taken over with the construction around the Ben Thanh Market end of the park. This was a main part of the park where people gathered in the 'square' and where a number of shows/concerts used to take place. However, the park is still very popular and has a huge amount of people going through it each day. In the middle section, a new development has now opened with a market and food court attracting a lot of local people and a new bar called YOLO. Over the weekends there has been an outdoor food and clothing market that becomes quite busy with a good selection of food. This is a park that you just can't avoid as there is always something going on here.

Locals dance. Dog relaxing.
Feb 2017 • Friends
In the morning walking this place gives me the joy of seeing locals doing their daily exercise or their love for dancing in one of the hut.

Just feel at peace in the middle of the city.
