Overview
In the more than 10 years I have been a freelance tour guide, I have met many tourists who eventually became my friends. They have one thing in common - they all are mesmerized by Vietnamese cuisine and fell in love with it. I am also a travelholic and have set my foot in many countries from east to west and experienced various cultures, and got to try different foods where I landed. I can say with confidence and pride that Vietnamese cuisine is one of the most delicious and healthiest in the world. The country’s dishes not only have a distinctive flavor reflecting the wide range of fresh ingredients, they are also easy to make.

We had a great time in Vi's flat with her family learning how to cook and constantly eating delicious food. Her young family were great fun and it felt like going round for supper at a friends house! It may well be the highlight of my trip!!! Loved it.

Vi and her family provided a real family cooking experience. From the views over the city picking herbs on the roof garden through the questions from the inquisitive children about our lives to the cooking itself, the evening passed too quickly... The experience of cooking was authentic as were the recipes, so the food was delicious... a real taste of Vietnam...

This little gem of a cooking class located a few km outside district 1 in a residential condominium. It begins with a rooftop garden tour with an introduction to local spi es, herbs and traditions. The cooking class itself takes place at Vi's own apartment, so very few participants. Vi is no professional chef, but her cooking is spot on with tasty, easy to make, Vietname food you can cook at home and that is all that matters. The cooking class feels more of a social event than a cooking class. Vi (and her family) is the perfect hostess. Highly recommended.

Anyone visiting Ho Chi Minh city who wants a private tour, I can’t recommend Lose the tie tour more highly! We booked a 3 day tour of which the content was amazing. The online booking system was simple! We hardly bumped into another tourist as we were taken to places not on the regular tour circuit. Bao our guide was so knowledgeable and friendly and spoke fluent English. He also was very flexible and just wanted us to enjoy the experiences. The 3 days were so well planned, our mini van was always waiting for us and our driver as well was fantastic! All in all we had a very memorable trip in Ho Chi Minh City which was really down to Lose The Tie Tours and have taken home with us experiences that we will always remember so fondly.
