Genuine yoga centre
Jun 2019 • Solo
Had a wonderful hatha yoga class here. Centre has an ashram vibe, clearly cares about yoga as a spiritual practice. Definitely recommend. Wish I could have gone to more classes but my stay in HCMC was short.

I always want to go to this yoga center whenever i was in the hcm city. The space and people are nice. They teaching the traditional yoga plus its life style. I liked the morning meditation here then following with the yoga class in the outdoor space in the garden. Such a peaceful quiet moments with birds singing, flowers, blue sky. Highly recommend.

Great retreat house of traditional yoga
Aug 2016 • Solo
I completed 01st basic yoga class, then attended in daily class. The teacher were excellent with professional skills and warm care. The house has spiritual atmosphere and you feel relaxed and peaceful when you're in. There were many books in English and Vietnamese in the library. I also love Satsang class on every Wednesday and Sunday evening, which is free of charge for everyone. Overall, this is truly yoga taught traditionally that you should never miss.

Great class!
May 2016 • Couples
On our last full morning in HCMC my partner and I wanted to try out a yoga class in Vietnam.
This did not disappoint and was great value for the money.

We walked there from our hotel so were already quite hot and worried this would make the class even harder! We were the only people there that weren't either staying at the retreat or staff and this didn't matter in the slightest.
The staff were very welcoming and helpful.
The session lasted for just over 90 minutes and started with a lot of breathing exercises to begin with and then an hour of yoga moves afterwards and it was thoroughly enjoyable. The teacher helped you when required and wasn't pushy at all and made sure you knew your limits.

Definitely recommend a class here and was sorry that it was our last day otherwise I would have gone most mornings - great way to start the day!

Attended one asana class and satsang
Mar 2016 • Solo
I've never done Sivananda asana yoga before so it was a bit of an adjustment, but I enjoyed it! I got a few hands-on adjusts, and even though there wasn't much instruction from the teachers, it was simple enough to just follow along by watching everyone else.

The evening satsang was really lovely. The space just felt so warm and peaceful - it was a much-needed period of silence from the hectic Saigon traffic. The kirtan was led with ease and confidence, and enough instruction to make sure that newcomers could follow along. I totally recommend going to at least one satsang while you're in Saigon (it's free!), just to clear your head and reconnect with yourself.

Afslappende og en smule kedeligt

I was a resident of HCMC-center for two weeks. The place is clean and neat, though not high standard, the vegan food is a little tasteless after a time, since they don't use much seasoning or herbs. A pity. The center offers plenty of yoga classes that can be attended by desire. The physical yoga is not particularly challenging and they run the exactly same five exercise-rows in every lesson. Teachers are vietnamese and speak fine English, there is not much guidance, so know your physical limits in advance. Instruction is a little mechanical performed, often the teacheres even use the same frases for each exercise.
The center and daily life as a resident is very spiritual. There is not much talk beyond the common lunch. The place is quiet and meditation and chantning takes a lot of time every day. Although I left relaxed and well rested, it was honestly too boring for me… I’m not very spiritually – and then hours of singing get’s VERY long. I also like to talk (also about other than Sivananda and Swami's words of wisdom). Fortunately the center is located in a beautiful locally and quiet neighborhood in the city, and I enjoyed my long walks along the canals and talked with local instead. Keep an eye on your money - I got all my deposit stolen on the last evening. Right from the table in the kitchen where I sat and ate!

Interesting teaching method
Oct 2015 • Solo
Was a different experience than many other yoga classes. The instructor focused on breathing for the first 20 mins or so, which is unusual. He warmed up a lot, which is great for beginners. The stretches were repetitive and not too strenuous. The reception was awful though. Not only unprofessional but rude. She ignored me when I walked in and instead just chatted away with a regular customer as I stood there waiting - with a minute before class was to start. I finally had to interrupt because it didn't seem that they were going to stop talking. They even stared at me while speaking to eachother in Vietnamese (I'm a tourist and do not speak Vietnamese). Why people treat new clients this way I have no clue.

Serene oasis in HCMC

As a Sivananda teacher (living in the USA and certified in Canada) I was eager to check out the center in Saigon. I attended a morning class with my 11-year old daughter in July of 2015 and it was great. The woman who taught our class spoke excellent english so we were never left wondering what to do - in fact she had just completed ATTC in the USA, which probably helped. The center was quiet and pleasant - we would definitely both go back.

Best place for yoga and meditation in town
May 2015 • Solo
By far the best place in Saigon I have been to for yoga and mediation. After a retreat I did in the Dalat center, I kept coming back. Home-like atmosphere, the sweetest people and quality yoga classes and satsang that always make you leave revitalized! The Sivananda Center easily became a peaceful safe haven in hectic Saigon.

Delightful and professional yoga retreat
Jan 2015 • Solo
I had an amazing 6 days in this center. Staying here was the best decision I could have possibly made. Within the price are included morning meditation, morning yoga class - evening yoga class ,two meals a day and a bed.

The perfect way to slow down, regain energy, dive into the world of yoga/meditation and be surrounded by wonderful people.

Its a safe area, with a very local flair, apart from all the chunky party tourism

The day starts at 6:00am with one hours of meditation.
Right after you can go to the early morning yoga course or the one around 9:00am

After that, we normally gathered in the kitchen for a little snack : ) , the best after getting up early and a wonderful 1.5 hour yoga course.

Then, around midday there is Karma Yoga (help a bit in the house to maintain this place clean, nice and affordable, just the way it is). One of the teachers living in the centre will prepare food, so you can also see the local markets, help shopping / learn cooking / see where they get the fresh ingredients to prepare pure vegetarian food for all residents.

Some private time to digest, read, walk, or what ever you would like to do is given in the afternoon until the evening yoga class.

Residents should attend the morning meditation and 2 yoga classes a day, the rest of the day is pretty free. If you stay over the weekends, saturday and sunday are pretty easy going as well, time to visit the rest of the city, go to a market or just chill in the house, meditate and do your own practice.

I was lucky to attend a foot massage workshop on sunday.

I could only stay for a week, 2 weeks would have been better, or more.
You can also come just for one yoga course or too, without staying in the Center

But I recommend you to do so, to properly slow down, disconnect from the stress outside and focus on yoga, health, meditation and resting.

----Ok, here comes the nutshell: Great, friendly, clean, inspiring, fun, professional, ....----

Thanks again to all the good teachers
