Our tour guide Tam was fantastic and provide a lot of local insights on life in the Mekong Delta. There was lots of opportunities to purchase some souvenirs but absolutely no pressure. We did purchase some coconut candy which was lovely but you were able to take each item before deciding what to buy. The traditional lunch was fantastic. I would point out most dishes wer seafood which suited us but not for more fussy eaters. Traffic was particularly bad so we did not return to our hotel until 5.30pm.

This trip is ok for a day tour but not longer. Whistle stop tour through Buddhist Temple, lunch by the river, boat trip, honey farm, candy factory and canoe ride on river channel.

Bus travel to and from the Mekong valley was air contitionned and comfortable. Only 5 of us in our group which made it pleasant. Tiger was our tour guide for the day and he was very knowledgeable although some of his jokes about Vietnam as number one baby making country were repeated too often. There were clearly hundreds if not thousands of other tour vans and busses all headed in the same direction and it was disappointing that the whole tour is set up as a selling enterprise, with some sellers being quite pushy with their wares rather than showing off the best of their country. As others have mentionned you are expected to buy products at every stop from coconut candy (which tasted awful) to the honey (which tasted great). There was thankfully no Python as part of our trip and the ponys looked well cared for. As mentionned in other reviews tipping is expected at every stop which is not mentionned at the start of the day nor in the pre-booking information. This cost should be included in the price for the trip! Lunch was delicious and plentiful. Cost for drinks is extra. Would I do this trip again? Probably not, but I'm not sure what alternative less touristy options there are for exploring the Mekong. Overall we did enjoy our day.

Our tour guide was full of fabulous information which we enjoyed thoroughly. The boating tours were great. Our guide made it clear to tip 10k - 20k Dong for the three events (traditional dance, row boat ride, horse and cart) if we felt ok to do so. The horse and cart ride was not so nice as horses not in good condition. At the honey and coconut candy places you feel you are there just to purchase. The traditional music was not good quality and singers looked very unhappy (which was amusing as they were singing "if you are happy and you know it clap your hands") The lunch was very average compared to what we have experienced in 2 weeks in Vietnam. Good to get an appreciation of the "rice bowl" of Vietnam. Overall a pleasant day for the low cost.

Koaw -tour guide and driver Tu took us on an entertaining day trip along Mekong river, included boat trip past islands, horse and cart ride , great lunch, stopped at happy Buddha statue, saw bee hive and honey factory along with coconut candy making. Yes it is touristy and be prepared to tip, however, we would definitely recommend this trip.
