I rode on Vespa Adventures on the last night of a mother /daughter trip in Vietnam and we had such a wonderful time! Luna was a great guide and Cang a fantastic driver. This was the best way to see the city, try food at real local hot spots, and see live music, at both local and more Western-targeted bars. Normally, I’m weary of this type of tour and would prefer to go it alone to the local hotspots. While some locations were crowded with other Vespa Adventures groups, I did not feel like we were taken to touristy areas. The choice of venues was authentic. This was especially notable during our stop to a cafe for local music. Would definitely recommend, particularly to those not likely to get out and explore the streets/street food/nightlife without a guide!

One of the most entertaining and enjoyable evenings ever. On the back of an authentic Italian 1960s Vespa scooter driven by a very experienced motorcyclist ( and I am 105kg and 1.95m), weaving safely through the crazy evening traffic of Ho Chi Minh. Picked up at our hotel at 18:30. Each stop is about 10-12 minutes and I guess through the evening covered 10kms or more. First stop was a local cafe to meet our “ food guide” ( she arrives first and organises the table) and a brief discussion on the evening including food allergies. A snack and beer to start. A lot of delicious food across the evening and time for 2,possibly more ,drinks on each stop. Off to a seafood restaurant where we ate Crabs legs with salt & chilli/clams with lemongrass/stir fried rice noodles with vegetables and superb frogs legs with fish sauce. Back on the bike to a family owned Banh Xeo and watching 2 ladies cook pork, shrimp and onion pancakes over charcoal fires. Then to a hidden cafe where we listened to 2 singers ( one in English and one in Vietnamese) sing nice ballads, without microphones. Finally to a trendy music bar where I had 2 mojitos and listened to 3 singers, ( with a backing group)one of which was very very good. Back to the hotel around 22:30. A fantastic evening. All in cost ,including the insurance they arrange, was $97 I think. Don’t miss it !! Book direct at vespaadventures.com

Our family had an amazing experience with Sunny and the Vespa Adventures team while in Saigon. The tour was 4 and a half hours long and we visited many local sites such as Notre Dame and Reunification Palace of Saigon, several pagodas, China town, and the river bank overseeing the city. All of our Vespa drivers (mine was the travel leader Khanh and he was terrific!) were experienced and careful and we always felt relaxed and confident that we were safe. Sunny was a terrific guide, giving us thoughtful and detailed historical information as we moved from location to location. This was a fantastic way to see the sites and sounds of Saigon. We will definitely do another Vespa Adventures trip while in Vietnam. And lunch at the end of the tour was excellent as well!

We did this tour expecting to learn about the city and enjoy the street food and have a few drinks. Riding the bikes was great fun and the food was really tasty. But you learn absolutely nothing about the city or the buildings and you won’t get ideas about what attractions you might want to visit as you’re not told anything which is really disappointing. And at the end of the night, we were told we had to pay for the last drink we had, which was the most expensive drink you’ll be charged in Vietnam. We questioned why we were having to pay for these on top of the $97 we already paid and eventually we were told the company would cover it. This put a dampener on the night unfortunately. You definitely don’t get $97 worth of entertainment, food and drink

We had a great time at Hoi An using the same company but the HCM tour didn’t live up to my expectations
The first stop, we were offered Western food which seemed odd for a tour that wants customers to experience/see the authentic VN way of life. That’s when they made you pay the bills for the tour.
Then we stopped at a coffee shop where there were few birds in a cage singing. The place was not clean. We stayed for 5mn wondering why we were here....This stop was not warranted.
They also made us stop at a herbal medicine store and offered some random tea. We stopped for another 5mn. This stop seemed unnecessary.
The last few stops were a bit more interesting. Seeing HCM on a Vespa is a great but you don’t need to pay so much money.
My suggestion for them is to try to duplicate the Hoi An tour from the same company.
1. Great lunch in a rice field
2. Awesome stops
3. We got to see the rice fields
4. The stops seemed to be more connected. The HCM tour seems disjointed
Overall, I would not recommend this tour in HCM for the price. The drivers and guides were great!

Beware of imitators! These guys -"Vespa Adventures" AKA "The Ride of your Life" pioneered day tours on the back of vintage Vespa bikes. Very professional and well run tours with high quality bikes, drivers and guides.
This was the second tour we had done with them. We chose "Glimpse of the Mekong", a 7 hour adventure that takes you out of the city to see countryside life in the nearest part of the Mekong delta to Saigon. It was fascinating to see different suburbs of the city, as gradually high-rise condos gave way to mangrove and water-palm lined channels.
It was a very well planned and executed tour which gave us a range of experiences. Highlights were the wet market in a small bustling town and the river crossing on a ferry. Unfortunately with it being New Year, some of the manufacturing processes were not taking place as the workers were on holiday.
The drivers were top notch, and our guide Kathy was knowledgeable and funny. Highly receommended and will definitely do another tour with Vespa Adventures.

My family and I did the Saigon at Night Vespa tour and it was amazing. They allowed my 6 year old daughter to also ride and I can confidently say it was the best experience of her life. Her driver was cautious and courteous and put my mama mind at ease as he carefully guided her through the heart of Saigon. Our tour guide was knowledgable and gregarious and we had a blast eating our way through some of the best street food Saigon has to offer. The price of the tour is well worth it for all of the food and drink provided throughout the night.
We tipped our drivers and our tour guides and they were so refreshingly thankful.
I highly recommend this tour if you are visiting Saigon. It was such a great time!

It seems like a good idea months earlier, when your travel agent slips this in to your itinerary. Sit on the back of a Vespa and be whisked round Ho Chi Minh City sampling beer. You then arrive in the place and witness the traffic for yourself. 11 million people, and everyone of them on the streets on their Vespas. At the same time. The one saving grace is that the driving is not overly aggressive; however, if you leave a gap of more than 6 inches (in any direction) between you and any other vehicle, it will be filled. There are occasional traffic lights, but these, apparently, don't apply to scooters or motor bikes, These swerve cheerfully around those pedestrians brave enough to attempt road crossing.
The enormity of what you have signed up for quickly dawns on you. Wimp out? It's a serious thought, but we resisted that temptation. Picked up at the hotel by two likely lads and a guide. Whisked to a local cafe and given a beer. No, this isn't really part of the tour, just a meeting point. From there we go round four places. In most of them they give you a drink before the arrival, two minutes later, of your sampling beers. The craft movement is alive and well here. There are some very interesting examples, to suit all tastes, some at dangerously high ABV levels. Food is provided at each venue, mostly of the junk but tasty variety, sadly not particularly Vietnamese. If you scoffed all the beer on offer, you would consume the best part of 8 (British) pints.
They boast that they haven't lost a customer yet. The quality of the drivers is such that you don't actually feel scared, even before the drink begins to bite.
An evening out which was both exhilarating and great fun.

Six friends having a reunion holiday, getting on in years, riding around the city on the back of Vespa scooters, dodging the hundreds of other scooters in the mad city traffic - exhilarating! We visited lots of places to taste a variety of food (and drink) then back on the scooter to the next place. We finished at a coffee bar/nightclub listening to excellent local singers.
This was the highlight of the holiday - great fun and interesting food. Would definitely recommend it.

Nghia (our guide) and our 2 expert Vespa riders (Thang and Son) gave us a fantastic time. We visited 5 different venues - a trendy rooftop bar where we enjoyed cocktails at sunset with views right across the city, a trip across the river to a street restaurant specialising in seafood, then it was a trip to sample Bahn Xeo (where Nghia showed us how to roll the crispy pancake in fresh green leaves), then to a tiny music venue for coffee before cocktails to round off the evening at 6E1 a bar with a live rock band.
Criss-crossing the city on the back of a scooter was an unforgettable experience with the amazing numbers of other bikes obeying no obvious traffic rules but somehow missing each other. But we felt quite safe all the time.
Nghia was a brilliant and very informative host with excellent English. We thoroughly recommend this to anyone who wants to experience the real Saigon and visit the sort of places you wouldn't otherwise discover. Nghia also called ahead to adapt the food order to suit vegetarian.

Ottima.
Per qualsiasi cosa son qui.

Does your tour include travel insurance cover as a passenger on the Vespa motorbikes?

Unsure but we didnt take out any special insurance as I think travel insurance covered it anyway. You could check with Vespa themselves as they are very reliable at answering any questions you may have.

Do you run day time or later afternoon tours? Our kids are 6 and 8 and can’t stay out too late! Can a child and adult go together on one bike? Thx.

Hi. What age can passengers be on your bikes? We are a family of five with 3 kids age 7, 10 and 13. We would all love to do a night food tour on motor bikes in July next year. Thanks Cilla

Hi Cilla! Thanks a lot for your interest in our tours.
That's right, there's no age limit. Kids have a great time on our tours, it's perfectly safe and it will be an adventure that will keep them talking for weeks after your trip, guaranteed! They love being on the back of the Vespas.

Hi thanks for posting your great review. I'm heading over to Saigon in 2 weeks with my 17 year old and 11 year old. We want to take one of the Vespa tours - which one did you do? Have already booked a dinner cruise, mekong river day and chi chi tunnel day.
