We just moved to Saigon and what better way to get your bearings on things than to see it all from the water?!? The boat crew were professional, personable, and stocked the boat with all the necessities (water, sodas, great snacks, fresh fruit that they cut throughout the journey, bug spray, and hand sanitizer). On a hot day, a speed boat is what you need and by the time the sun sets and you take in the beauty of the city lights, the temperature is perfect! We were so greatful to find a tour that we could comfortably do with our kids during the heat of the rainy season. We all had a blast and have recommended it already to several of our friends. When the family can finally come join us from overseas we will definitely be taking them on this tour! Complete with stop for fresh coconuts and the floating temple! Thank you Les Rives!

Well done by both the Les Rives team and the bicycle guides from Grasshopper Adventures. Timely pick-up, a great and surprisingly fast speedboat ride up in a small group (they got only three passengers for our booked time and went anyway). A lovely bicycle ride with some interesting stops from the Ben Dinh tunnels access point all the way to Ben Duoc, through nice foresty areas and fields. Everything feels well organised.
A special thanks goes to the very friendly lady from Les Rives who made a great conversation partner at the pier in Saigon. Since my fellow passengers were late for 40 minutes, I had to wait for them, but thanks to this very insightful conversation time really just flew.

This was a well organized and worthwhile tour and we would highly recommend it. We really enjoyed the boat ride and getting to see Ho Chi Minh City and the surrounding area from the Saigon River. The tunnels were remarkable and we were particularly impressed by our tour guide, Bao. He was knowledgeable, informative, balanced and reflective in the information he presented during his tour of the tunnels.

There are lots of tours offering the Cu Chi tunnels however this tour sounded so appealing travelling on a boat rather than a bus/limousine. It didn’t disappoint and we loved seeing the city and landscape from the river on the way there and back. Our tour guide was very knowledgeable and gave us the perfect amount of time walking around whilst showing us the tunnels and traps. The food was really good too and we had plenty of water and fruit onboard the boat. This tour costs a little more than the average bus tour to the tunnels but it’s worth every penny and I would highly recommend it to anyone thinking of going.

We spent the New Year on the river which was fantastic! It was a bit pricey, but that is expected for the New Year. The driver and tour guide were extremely friendly. The tour guide was an excellent host - she took care to talk to us about the areas of the city as we passed them, made some jokes, and made sure we had refreshments. The only minus was the food at the restaurant was not really that good. The little that was offered to us, really wasn't that good. I could barely bite into the pork medallion. The view and atmosphere were good though. Refreshments on the boat were great.

We were picked up from our hotel and taken straight to the pier for pickup. A friendly tour guide with a stop for lunch on the way to a riverside restaurant serving good food included in the tour. The Cu Chi Tunnels were a good first day tour. We were able to shoot guns there too. Would recommend this tour that lasted from 11am to about 5pm with a drop back to our hotel.

This tour is way more expensive than all the other tours that we booked and for this reason, I was curious to see if it was just a waste of money or not. Howerver, now I can say that it was worth it. The boat ride is very comfortable. Our guide was well prepared and friendly and the group was on the small side (4 people). The food we got from the restaurant at the entrance of the tunnel site was also good. i found the visit to this site extremely interesting( a todo when visiting HCM city) and a great combination with the war museum also in HCM city

We chose a two day-trip with a speedboat from central Ho Chi Minh City and had a great experience with lots of beautiful sights and interesting stops. Our guide Hàng was fantastic and supplied us with lots of interesting information and also with lots of fresh fruit. Our trip also included two delicious lunches and one night in a bungalow at Mekong Riverside Lodge in the most beautiful setting right by the river. The crew on the boat was also friendly and we found this a fantastic experience that will stay in our memories.

We booked this trip directly from the Les Rives website as we couldn’t find it on Tripadviser, as we wished to experience a deeper way of life in the Mekong delta. We had also been on the Chu Chi tunnels and return by jeep with Les Rives a couple of days before, which was excellent (my husband reviewed this a few days ago 5*) and we were so glad to see that we had the same guide ‘Hang’. Although it was not a private tour, we were the only guests on this trip with four staff. A captain, his second, who assisted in landings, Hang the guide and Nahm? (apologies if I have her name wrong), who did all the communication with the local businesses, and boat so it knew when and where to pick us up and also served us with copious amounts of water/coke and fresh fruit on both days.
Day one we visited a ‘very’ local market, no intensive sales and stall owners smiling at us. There were no commercial tourist stalls at all. A brick making business and coconut processing plant, all of which were done by hand. After lunch which involved a tut tut ride we also saw mat weaving and the best wast the chopstick family business.
Our accommodation was the Mekong Riverside. We had a river view which we requested and the view did not disappoint. The hotel was comfortable and the set menu food, authentic.
Day two we visited Cai Be, where the wholesale boat market used to operate however we were informed by Hang that Covid has depleted its size. We also saw the rear of the rice factories where boats lined up to unload rice and also take on the husk to process elsewhere. A Walk through the town to visit a rice paper family business and also a family making puffed rice. A visit to a local ‘eye’ temple was interesting. Our final stop was before lunch to a narrow shallow canal where our boat could not go so we took a local row boat through a water hyacinth farm to see how they weave into many different items.
Les Rives strapline is ‘Authentic River Experience’ and we felt we got this in every aspect. Each crew member knew their job and executed it quietly and professionally. We cannot thank all of them enough for our Mekong experience. Well done Les Rives.

Smooth service with pick-up at your hotel/apartment and a great boat ride to and from the tunnels. It is great cruising on the Saigon river and experiencing the city from the water.
It is also nice that you are in a smaller group. We took the early bird and it was great that breakfast was served on the boat. Nothing special but nice to get some energy.
The tour through the tunnel area is good with a satisfying amount of information. Our guide was a bit hard to understand which was unfortunate as he had some good insights to tell.

Our boats don't equip with toilette, but before departure and after arrival any stop of all visits, we always arrange a toilette available for guests. So you only have around 1-1,5hour onboard without toilette.

Yes, Absolutely. Les Rives Experience can arrange a private speedboat for you two. we offer service with speedboat (maximum 14 guests), not with cruise. The speedboat was designed exclusively by Les Rives for accessible to small canals across Saigon and Mekong River.

I am interested in making a booking for your "Half-Day Cu Chi Tunnels from Ho Chi Minh City by Luxury Speedboat" on 19 November 2019 for 3 adults for the 1100 AM pickup and are only in Ho Chi Minh for one day. However, our flight arrives at 0915 AM and we are unsure if we can make the hotel pickup for 1100 AM. We will only have carry on baggage. We are staying at Duc Vuong Hotel on Bui Vien Street in District 1.

Price: 1,899,000 VND/1 pax
Departure time: 7AM or 11AM
Finish time: 1:PM or 5:PM
Inclusions: Light breakfast & lunch (morning departure), lunch (afternoon departure), unlimited refreshments and local fruit, English-speaking guide, all entrance fees, pickup and drop off at centrally located hotels.
Itinerary:
7:00 am: Early in the morning, Les Rives guide will meet you at your hotel’s lobby and bring you by car to our speedboat at Tan Cang pier.
7:20 am: Then you will depart Saigon by speedboat. Within 15 minutes, the banks of the river change from city sprawl to lush jungle. A light breakfast of sandwiches or pastries, fresh tropical fruits and Vietnamese iced coffee (Ca phe sua da) is served, as your guide explains rural traditions and aspects of riverbank life.
8:50 am: You will arrive at the Cu Chi Tunnels site before the majority of larger bus tours arrive. Watch a brief introductory ‘propaganda’ video to the Cu Chi area.
9:00 am: Explore the tunnel site, which includes weapon and booby trap exhibitions, navigating authentic Viet Cong tunnel, visiting different underground bunkers (kitchens, meeting rooms, ammunitions etc.), a firing range and much more. Try the local cassava root that sustained Viet Cong fighters for years.
11:00 am: Enjoy a delicious traditional Vietnamese lunch by the river, consisting of authentic fried spring rolls, chicken and beef dishes and soup.
11:30 am: Say goodbye to Cu Chi Tunnel and return to Ho Chi Minh City.
01:00 pm: Arrive back at Tan Cang’s pier. Les Rives staff will take you back to your hotel by car.

FYI - they will also drop somewhere in town rather than your hotel if you ask as they dropped a couple off at the war museum instead of their hotel on our trip.
