Well lovley gardens vegetation but (hot) I have never been so close up to zoo animals that amazed me.i seen a turtle with a problem with the caring keepers and the treatment impressive. The bear was happy eating up close to me I was astonished .I am a au sheep farmer.so different from our our code of animal welfare. My only concern was the elephant's enclosure it was so small sad.veitnarm is still learning and improving .I enjoyed it but I hope with education and help it will definitely improve.i did see the keepers them selves were dedicated to the animals

Dai Nam Zoo is better recommended to the natives. As you a foreign tourist, Dai Nam Zoo should not be listed on your scheudle coz it's too small & too common to deserve a special visit. 大南動物園適合推薦給本國遊客,外國遊客就不推了 - 動該物園實在太小太普通,不值得外國遊客在有限的旅期中,專程造訪。

I'm not a fan of Zoos, if I could I would do a large scale break out and set the animals free, but that just wouldn't work and would scare the local Vietnamese people. So when ever I visit a zoo I'm always prepared on whats to come. Sad animals behind bars in cramped conditions just aint a pleasant sight. But having lived in Ho Chi Minh City on two occasions now Dai Nam Zoo is a welcome break from the madness that surrounds it.
As far as cages and enclosures go I have certainly seen worse. The enclosure are at best spacious and seem adequate for the sorry looking animals that live in them.
The Zoo has some really lush green park areas where you can relax and just enjoy the greenery whilst forgetting about the polluted crazy streets outside. If you do visit the Zoo make sure you go see the absolutely, stunningly, magnificent White Tiger. What a beautiful creature and just heartbreaking to see it trapped behind glass passing up and down waiting for its highlight of the day, feeding time.
Someone please save this beautiful animal.

It is disgusting that animals are kept in jail. There is no good zoo, all must close and stop recommending zoos as places with good animal welfare. Elephants especially suffer with no where to walk. They deserve freedom

The Dai Nam Zoo was truly an unforgettable experience, but not in a good way. The animals were enclosed in small spaces, they looked uncared for and all the exhibits were tired and dated.

Saw some creatures hopping around with broken legs. Saw a dead snake in an enclosure with flies and insects all over it. Floors very slippery and dangerous in wet weather. Park empty. Avoid.

This was a depressing experience. The animals looked bored, no greenery in the enclosures. Some of he animals looked very thin and water seemed very sparce in the enclosures. We paid very little to get in but didn't feel like staying. The lions looked emaciated and the elephants merely contained. This attraction requires some work to make it comfortable for visitors to enjoy.

i left not even half way through after seeing poor deer and other similar animals laying in mud, emaciated and missing fur. other small cats were just laying on the cement in their enclosures in their own feces. made me sad and feel sick when i was there, dont go if you have any form of compassion for animals :(
