Warmest greetings from the Vietnam Cookery! Established since 1999, we are the first and most professional Cookery Center in Vietnam, teaching Vietnamese gastronomy to Tourists and other professional visitors from all over the world. Years of having tirelessly worked to give you the best services have earned us the TripAdvisor Certificate of Excellence, and we do appreciate your interest. Our courses are hands-on classes, with an introduction to the food culture of Vietnam, providing you with a memorable souvenir to bring home.About our location: Our school is located in the heart of Saigon, from our large terrace you will have an unique view of an area that real estate developers call the "Golden Triangle".On top of having a wonderful initiation on Vietnamese Gastronomy, you will have the opportunity to go back in history and spend time in one of the last colonial building still erected right downtown. This building has been built in 1930 by the French, and was to be the residence of the Saigonese Elite. It was the first concrete building in Asia, and the pride of its French architect. Unfortunately he made a typical "colonial" mistake: as many French buildings in France, the space under the roof was divided into small rooms for the servants. When the building was finished and the apartments put on sale, none of the rich Vietnamese accepted to live there, as in Asia the tradition is to have only your ancestors' altar or worshiped gods over your head, not servants!

Paid by PayPal, emailled confirming I had done so. Turned up on the day and no course - I assume they preferred to not run it as no one else had booked. So rude. Had planned to attend two classes too. Good luck if you try this place.

There are a handful of cooking courses on offer in Saigon. I chose Vietnam Cookery Centre as they have been in business for 15 yrs, the variety of dishes taught appealed to me (I did the Sat menu featuring lotus stem salad, grilled pork & pork "pie" with broken rice & grilled bananas) & the price was reasonable. The delightful... More

Started our morning with a tour through the Ben Thanh market, which I will stay felt very rushed and I couldn't really hear everything being described. We then got put in taxis and headed to the center for our class. We spent most of the time watching the chef prepare and then got to make some spring rolls and chicken.... More

Dear mhslowikowski Thank you for having taken your time to comment ; your remark about not much cooking is accurate, indeed most of Vietnamese dishes require more preparation than cooking: lots of ingredients, herbs , etc..to wash, cut into small pieces, marinate with spices etc.. the cooking techniques after are usually simple and fast; the main specificities of Vietnamese dishes... We did the morning class preceded by the market visit. Mai met us at Ben Thanh and really did a great job walking us through and showing us all the different produce and meats. My kids were especially interested in the live crabs! After, she took us to the class where Linh took over. Since we were making the pho... More

I read the "poor" reviews and cannot fathom what the complaints were about. This was clearly marketed as a tourist course and as such it was more than adequate. We've done cooking classes in other countries and this was if not the best better than most. It's a very atmospheric location 5th floor old colonial building in the heart of... More

First time traveller to Vietnam and love the food so we wanted to learn how to make some of the dishes. Class room was well set out with all the equipment, everything was chopped and ready at individual workstations. Each step was explained, demonstrated and easy to follow. We had made 3 dishes and ate them at the end of... More

This cooking class was great and very hands on. We got to make 5 different dishes that were all delicious. The staff is very friendly and helpful. They provide a cookbook at the end so you get to bring home the recipes.
