This is a fun way to beat the rush of the city. The staff were incredibly friendly and professional. It was nice to watch and listen to a traditional story with live music. We still don't know how the puppeteers manipulated the puppets! Very skillful.

My daughter (4 years old) loved it. Easy to follow, some laughs & little to grumble about. Facilities are basic in and around the theatre.

This was a place to go to give you an old world Vietnam feeling. There are a number of musicians to accompany a cool puppet show that uses puppets controlled under water. Worth seeing once.

This was a fantastic artistic performance. An art form almost a thousand years old. The puppetry was incredible and the live music and song on ancient instruments a wonderful added bonus. It was exuberant, noisy, beautiful all at once. It was great value for money just $10 each. We even bought a wooden puppet as a souvenir and this was... More

We directly went to catch this puppet show from airport. Check with the driver if he knows the exact way before boarding. Our driver tried to show some vague building and tell thats the one, but we were adament to get off untill we read a board or saw its entrance. So he was forced to drop us at the... More

The Vietnamese water puppet show is kind of fun, especially to the children. The show is typically of rural peasant life, which can be comical & full of meaning. The fire-breathing dragon and the smoking folk are astonishing. The show at HCMC is different from the show in Hanoi, but I found the show in Hanoi represented better quality in... More

The show was enjoyable - all in Vietnamese so a lot is down to the puppetry to follow the storyline. Cleaverly done and music/vocal accumpaniment was also impressive. The show is around 45 minutes, shown three times a day. Prices were reasonable however seating was uncomfortable and it's well worth going in advance of the show to get your tickets.... More

It was a very good show that was well performed. However, it is all in Vietnamese so I didn't have a clue what was going on the entire time. Same as watching any play in a foreign language. I think it would still be very entertaining for children.

What a treat! 45 minutes of an amazing art performed by really talent and surprisingly young puppeteers! The show has several surprises.. We loved the 'flame-throwing' dragon and the synchronized dance at the end. Though not understanding the language is s bit of a handicap, the show is intuitive enough. A true delight for all ages!

I wasn't sure what to expect from "water puppets" but we were pleasantly surprised by the whole experience. Get there early so you get a good seat. Try not to take so many pictures and just enjoy the whole show. There are musicians who provide live music to accompany the puppets. It is truly an artistic achievement that they do... More
