If you are looking where you can buy a sim card at Tan Son Nhat Airport (Ho Chi Minh city, Vietnam), I recommend buying from SASCO Travel Kiosk inside the airport. This company are represent the three biggest networks in Vietnam so you can have some of the best coverage available. Moreover for who need to go to city downtown, can book a taxi here with flexible price also.

When I returned to Vietnam from Australia, I used SASCO travel taxi service at the international arrival terminal. Prices for each district were clearly listed on the price list at the counter and I paid directly there. The taxi driver was very friendly and professional. I had a good ride then

Today I ordered an airport taxi at SASCO booth in HCMC Airport. I was told to go to Column 10 outside the airport. I was met by someone in uniform who took me to the parking lot across several lanes of traffic. When I got into the vehicle the driver asked me for one dollar to pay toll which was a surprise. There is no toll between the airport and downtown Ho Chi Minh City. He then took my wallet and said he would find the right dollar for me. Before I could get it back he took the money and drop to the $20 bills on the seat which I saw. Then he handed back my wallet. This was blatant robbery. I went back to Sasco booth and told them what happened. Halfway through my explanation I could see the looks on the reps face that this is not the first time it happened. I want to warn all tourists coming to Vietnam that they would do something in close contact without any shame or fear.
This is the fourth time this has happened to me. I am almost 6 feet tall, athletic and in my 40s. I am surprised by the blatant robberies I experienced, not related to SASCO but regular taxi service:
1) I had my briefcase put into the back of the taxi by the driver in front of Sheraton Saigon the flag ship five star hotel. By the time I got to the airport my wallet was missing.
2) on two occasions I rode taxis to pay cash. The 10,000 Dong and 100,000 Dong denominations are very similar. When I gave him the 100,000 Dong, he would do a quick change of hand and hand back a 10,000 Dong saying that was not the correct amount. At one time I had to point out my 100,000 Dong under his seat through his quick hand.
Inner taxi robbery in close contact may get somebody hurt. For sure these have been extremely upsetting and troubled experience for me, an American.
I don’t seem to hear other tourists complaining about these episodes. I would like to ask everyone to comment on it if you know someone or yourself who experienced this.
