Saigon Back Alley Tours was an amazing opportunity for my family to enjoy parts of the city we wouldn't have thought to explore. Trang, Tam, Yen, and Tien were all super friendly, experienced, and knowledgeable - super lucky to have had them as our hosts! We enjoyed not only exploring the different areas of Saigon, but also learning a lot about their lives as students studying in Vietnam.
Our tour started early in the morning at 8 AM and ended around 11:30 AM. The weather was still hot in December, so we opted for an earlier time to beat the heat of the afternoon sun. The students pick you up on-time and drive you around on the back of their motorbikes to different sections and local areas of Saigon. My family and I enjoyed this memorable experience, and would 100% recommend it to anyone else travelling to this beautiful city.

We had an amazing time with Loi and Dat travelling around Ho chi Minh visiting various restaurants and city sites. We had a very fun adventure, I had never ridden on a motorbike before but the two made us feel very safe in the bustling streets of Saigon and were very informative about Vietnam food culture. Overall, the tour was well worth the cost and is something I'd recommend for others who want to learn about Vietnamese cuisine and Vietnamese history.

We have booked the tour and it was a pleasure to learn something about HCM city itself as well as particulary about the great Vietnamese cuisine, which is pretty diversified.
Thanks again to our great guides/hosts SANDY and MINH. It Was like cruising through the City with friends, looking for the best (hidden) food spots, we really enjoyed the whole evening.
Keep the concept going, it is a great idea and experience that the tours are progressed by friendly students.

After a recommendation on our last day in HCMC to do a food tour I contacted this company and they couldn’t have been any more accommodating. Even though it was a late request, within 10 minutes we were all booked!
Our tour guides were Ngan Le and Tri Taan and they were amazing! We felt safe on the scooters at all times, they took us to places we would never of known to go to and the food was delicious! They were so informative, not only about the food but the culture, the city and life living in HCMC and Vietnam.
I would highly recommend booking this tour, it was a fantastic experience and definitely the highlight of our 4 night stay in HCMC! Thank you Ngan & Tri, we had the best time and thoroughly enjoyed your company, it was like spending time with old friends.

There was so much to love about this experience. Firstly, jumping on the back of a Motorbike/scooter with a local. We would not have been confident enough to brave the Ho Chi Minh traffic ourselves but it was so good to be on the back with someone who knew what they were doing. We were not scared at any point of the ride! They rode safely and made us feel comfortable. Secondly, the food. The food was 10/10. This was our first night out in HCM and all day we had been feeling overwhelmed with the sheer amount that the city has to offer. So many choices! Our guides took us to a range of places, ranging from “more popular” to “off the beaten track.” Every food item that we tried, we loved. Our guides were very accomodating with my dislike for seafood and made sure there wouldn’t be any meals with it! We ate a lot of food over the 3-4 hours we were on the tour so you definitely get value for money. Lastly, our guides, Pham Khahn and Hoang Nhi, were some of the best. They made sure we were comfortable always, shared lots of the city’s history from the perspective of a local and had us laughing regularly. Their friendly natures made this tour so much better.

My sister booked this tour for my first full day in Vietnam, so that I could get used to being on the back of a motorbike (Im in my late 60s) and could sample Vietnamese food before losing most of my teeth in dental surgery planned for the next day!
It was such a lot of fun! My driver Hao (?) was gracious, gentle, careful & considerate, with really good English, so I soon relaxed in the heavy traffic and felt entirely safe & able to look around. We had 3 motorbikes- my sister on another with Binh, and a young man from England on another with Angie. We went to 5 or 6 different places over several hours, so it was like a well spaced out 6 course meal with cultural sights and information (e.g. the old U.S. army apartments from the 60s and beautiful flower markets to rival those of Amsterdam). The actual food was excellent - it began with some yummy noodles with veggies and crispy meat & veg spring rolls. We had iced jasmine/green tea in plenty at every venue and one stop was to sample & learn about Vietnamese style coffee to our individual tastes. Other foods sampled included spicey BBQed beef in the Cambodian market, baguettes (banh mi) with veg & meats, and fried Vietnamese pancakes at the end. There was a beer in between.
Well worth the money and some excellent conversation and opportunities to learn about Vietnamese life & culture. All good and drinks are included in the cost.

Last night, we spent close to 4,5 hours on the Street food Safari walking tour with our excellent guide Nhu. The tour was a perfect blend of a traditional food tour and a walking sightseeing tour taking us to areas where few tourists would venture on their own. We wandered through several neighbourhoods and sat down next to locals to enjoy a couple of seafood dishes, various barbecue dishes, Vietnamese pancakes and much, much more.
All in all, we are very happy with our experience and recommend it to anyone who seeks a combination of food tour and local sightseeing.

My husband and I just got back from our motorbike food tour around Saigon and had the best night! I rode with Kayla (Tiên) and my husband rode with Logan (Long) who were both so sweet, informative and funny. It was such an incredible experience to ride on the motorbike through the city. I always felt safe with Kayla and felt comfortable from start to finish. The food and drinks we had throughout the tour were so delicious and authentic. We loved each dish and loved learning about the history/background of the food. It was really great to try the different Vietnamese dishes, we will definitely be returning to a few of the places we tried on the tour.
The atmosphere and overall experience is something my husband and I will never forget. We also felt like Kayla and Logan were friends we’ve known for a while, which made the night that much more fun. Thank you so much Kayla and Logan for such an amazing night in Saigon!

We loved exploring the back alleys of Saigon on motorbikes with our local guides. We were able to try dishes we wouldn't have found on our own, everything tasted wonderful and just as we expected. We enjoyed learning more about the city straight from locals themselves. The experience felt customized just for us and was definitely one of the highlights of our trip.
