Calm & Peaceful, Experienced Staff/Ownership

Spa LaVie is perfect for my husband and me. We live in District 3, near the older spa location; I discovered it while coming home from errands, gave it a try, and am very happy that I did.
We are in the health field (chiropractic/nutritional genomics) and place tremendous value on experience with anatomy, and awareness of non-toxic personal care products, soothing sounds, ambiance and natural non-chemical smells for calming nerves and detoxification.
We each fell asleep during our first full body massages, an indication of how comfortable we feel here.
Spa LaVie uses Sofri products which you can look up online; the vegan product line uses colors of the chakras to define its line of scented massage oils.
There are two significant aspects I look for in a good massage treatment: lymphatic/interstitial drainage and cranial/neck/shoulder deep tissue.
The therapist whom I have had at Spa LaVie for these massages has known exactly where tension had built up on my body and she was very smart! She integrated treatment of the tense neck/cranial with the facial, pulsing the treatment. Without going into my own autonomic issues, suffice to say, she has had her work cut out for her and she did a great job reducing the tension in those areas.
Like just about everyone, I have minor spine irregularities and I am very aware of stretching of the lumbar and lower thoracic. There is a little bit of Thai massage stretching in the full body massage...my advice is to be prepared, and be mindful of how far you can go with twists and bends.
I would like to add in a belly massage (small intestine/colon) and vagal nerve activation ... in the future ... if my Vietnamese improves (a big "if")
The visits to the Spa have been a welcome, economical pampering. I had a massage at an upscale (read: expensive, westernized) spa in HCMC where a heat pump fan blew directly on me, and the music was a cloying saccharine version of Christmas carols which was so annoying that I asked, mid-service, to have it turned off.
At Spa LaVie, the treatment room is small and it is dark; there are four treatment tables separated by floor-to-ceiling curtains; the temperature is comfortably warm; the music is rhythmic, reminding me of the soothing healing power of solfeggio frequencies ... if this weren't the intent of that music, it was the effect.
So far, I have had three facials and two body massages. The facials are sublime.
While waiting in the foyer, try the heated Himalayan salt foot rests. I was served ginseng tea after treatment.
The facade, foyer and treatment room of the spa in District 3 are Vietnamese style, in a regular Vietnamese neighborhood, busy with scooters, schoolchildren, street food stalls. It is not "westernized" which is fine by me, but may not be for everyone.
I am giving it 5 stars because the service and effort of the owners deserves it.
I look forward to trying out the District 2 location someday, but our little neighborhood Spa is perfect for us.

Feb 2017 • Friends
I visited VietNam within 7 days and had opportunity to relax at Spa Lavie district 2. 1st time, I choiced fresh ginger massage because I was flu. 2nd, I spent with Thai massage and anti aging treatment for facial care. They were great all. If I come back Viet Nam, I surely will visit Lavie spa again.
