Private Cu Chi Mekong 1 Day

The Cu Chi Tunnels – an amazing underground network was dug by Vietkong soldiers throughout the war is a must-see historical destination in Southern Vietnam.

Mekong Delta is a fascinating destination on holidays. Besides stunning and peaceful rural landscapes, the hospitable and welcoming locals play a vital role in attracting sightseers.

This combined tour is specially designed for people who do not have much time in Saigon (Ho Chi Minh City), but we still highly suggest to sightsee them separately if you could arrange your time.

Private Cu Chi Cao Dai 1 Day

The

tunnels of Củ Chi are an immense network of connecting tunnels located in the Củ Chi District of Ho Chi Minh City (Saigon), Vietnam, and are part of a much larger network of tunnels that underlie much of the country. The Củ Chi tunnels were the location of several military campaigns during the Vietnam War, and were the Viet Cong's base of operations for the Tết Offensive in 1968.

Cao Dai uses ethical precepts from Confucianism, occult practices from Taoism, theories of Karma and Rebirth from Buddhism ,and a hierarchical organization (including a Pope) from Christianity. Caodaiists (believers of Cao Dai) believe that the first disciples of the religion, Ngô Văn Chiêu, Cao Quỳnh Cư, Phạm Công Tắc and Cao Hoài Sang spoke to God and God spoke to them. God told them to establish a new religion that would commence the third era of religious amesty.

We needed to extend our visa whilst in Ho Chi Minh which was so complicated and took over a week to sort out- however Tuyen was so helpful and lovely she took us through every step along the way. We couldn’t be more grateful, Tuyen was so friendly and is really great at English- we couldn’t recommend her enough 😊

The lady that served us spoke very good English and was very polite and helpful. We only wanted a one day trip and she was able to recommend exactly what we were looking for. This was a private tour to the Mekong River. It was extremely well organised and one of the best things we did on out trip to Vietnam. The shop is conveniently located near the main market and easy to find.

Just spent December travelling in Vietnam and if it wasn’t for Ms Van and Candy Travel it would have been so much harder! Candy Travel and Ms Van helped me book all my tours in Sai Gon and also an open bus to Hanoi which was extremely helpful! I strongly recommend this company to everyone who wishes to have an easy way in Viet Nam.

We designed our own tour to our needs skipping what we did not want to include. Quong was very helpful in designing and confirming exactly what we wanted of our tour. Our driver picked us up at 3:00 am sharp! On time and pleasant our driver (driver only, no guide until My Tho) safely transported us 2 in new clean spacious AC equipped van on 3 hr drive from HCMC to Mekong Delta pier for boat transfer to Cai Rang Floating market. We met our 6am river boat. All motor boats on the main river system provided life vests and had us wear them in Cai Rang. Cai Rang is noted as biggest (best) floating market but this was rather disappointing as much of the produce is simply offloaded from larger vessels to smaller buyers often in sacks and is not the cornucopia of fresh farmer market experience you may be expecting. No pretty colorful boatloads of fruit and vegetables but mostly industrial-like fresh food cargo wholesale exchanges that you may not find as romantically imagined of an idyllic market on the water of yesteryear. We did visit briefly a fruit garden off the main shore of the river for half an hour as a rest stop. We were transferred by van again to arrive in Can Tho for a canal tour. The canal boating begins with a wooden hand-paddle boat down a romantic waterway canal surrounded by towering palm fronds along the canal banks. There were no life vest here, but the canals are slow moving and shallower. This ride is to bring you to a small coconut candy manufacturing operation. The nut clusters of the palms that surround the canal banks are the source of one such candy. Later we are transferred to a motorboat that plies another canal system of Can Tho to a landing of the restaurant we have lunch at. This motorized boat has life vests but they are not required to be worn, but are present in the boat awning rafters above you. The restaurant is a garden of edible plants. The food is fresh and simple but well prepared and the owner’s nephew greeted and waited on us in English and provided entertaining conversation. We took the motorized boat back to the pier for our return transport back to HCMC. We drove through rush hour traffic and a huge downpour safely. All boat drivers and the van driver appreciated a small gratuity that was not requested. We were provided fresh coconut water straight out of the coconut on our final boat transfer after lunch and lunch was included in the tour price but not drinks/alcohol. All-in-all a satisfactory self-designed day with our tour agent texting me to check up on our progress, always available by phone should we ever needed him. We had negotiated a fair price and we got what WE WANTED at the time of day we needed: very accommodating to our limited schedule and previous day booking. Please rethink Cai Rang if you are expecting a romantic photo-op. We visited on a Wednesday morning 6:20-8:30 am. We had noodles from one boat vendor and iced coffee from another—we only wish it was a more intimate and farmer market experience vs. the bulk purchasing of wholesale sacks of produce that just happened to be on the water.
