About
Since opening in 2016, The Factory has had the pleasure of welcoming the art-loving public to come and share our passion in the contemporary practices of our local and international creative talent. This journey of 5 years has comprised a myriad of short- and long-term projects, a diverse range of programmes curated with much care and deliberation, with many unforgettable chance encounters and relationships that we have cultivated along the way, all of which are precious moments that have come to fuel the steady growth of The Factory. During the months after June 2021, closing our doors to the public gave our team at The Factory the chance to review and assess in order to reflect and grow. We understand that in an ever-morphing world, change is the only constant. With that in view, starting from January, 2022, The Factory enters a phase of hibernation to revitalize to chart a new chapter more suitable for a living-with-COVID landscape. The alternative, artistic type of building is the first thing to catch your attention. You have a strange feeling of being welcomed into the exhibition and are being guided thru it with a thoughtful structure. Definitely worth seeing.

After visiting many art galleries in Hoi An, Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City to was nice to visit a contemporary space devoted to modern art. The building itself is very interesting and its design creates an ambience of sereneness.
I was a little disappointed with the extent of the exhibits but those that were on display were great.
While it is a little away from the CBD, it was worth the 15 minute taxi ride. It is in a residential which is also worth a look.

We really enjoyed visiting District 2, a much quieter area of HCM. The Factory was well worth a visit. It's a small gallery but a beautiful space and showcases Vietnamese artists. There were 2 exhibitions on when we visited. There are nice cafes and there was a great crafts market when we were there. It was good to see another side of the city after the hectic pace of district 1.

I tried to visit the Factory for contemporary arts today (after a lovely visit to Rehahns Museum). I used google maps to locate it and thought it’s only. 20 mins walk up the road, so I walked to get to the spot it gave me on google maps. The gallery was not there. A lovely street vendor redirected my to the location at 15 Nguyen U Di, another 2+km away, so I caught a Grab bike, only to arrive to a closed museum. Website said it was open. Nothing indicated that it was closed.

This centre is not open and is in the process of moving. It would be helpful if the website made this clear or if there was a way to contact the centre. The telephone number listed on the website doesn't work, emails and social media msgs are not responded to.

A very small gallery. Aircon was turned off, but it wasn’t too warm. Nice place to chill with free wifi.

I loved the idea of this purpose-built art centre even before I saw it, and it lived up to my expectations. The space itself is fabulous; it has a restaurant on the street front; outdoor seating at the back; and the inside gallery is two levels. The main floor houses the current exhibition and the second floor shows past works, all of which are for sale. There is also a relaxing little library with art books from around the world. The people who work there are friendly and knowledgeable (they even helped me by calling a taxi for me when I was leaving). Overall, I highly recommend making the trip to this groovy and inspiring place in a District I would like to spend more time exploring.

Went there alone for a little getaway. It was a very interesting experience, especially with this month's exhibition (Văn Tế Thập Loại Chúng Sinh by Phạm Trần Việt Nam). The lighting and space occupancy were well thought and make everything look very captivating. They also sell beautiful postcards for only 15,000 VND each !

It is an interesting place to go if someone would like to know more about contemporary art in Vietnam. At the moment the art centre shows two exhibitions. One of the exhibitions is called Empty Forest by Vietnamese artist Tuan Andrew Nguyen which is a thought provoking exhbition which ends on 7th February 2018.

It is easy to get there by public transport. I fetched the bus number 6 from the bus stop called Die Tien Hoang which is situated on Nguyen Thi Minh Kai. After 20 minutes the bus reaches the bus stop Khun dan cur Estella. The journey costs VND 6,000.- . The Google map shows the various stops clearly.
The only tricky bit of the journey was to cross a very busy four lane highway road in order to get to other side of the road at the Khun dan cur Estelle bust stop. Afterwards it is a 10 minutes walk along a windy road through an area with lots of villas and schools.

I combined my outing with having a lunch (lots of choices of restaurants along Tran Ngoc Dien in case you do not want to eat at the arts centre) and then I visited the Vin Gallery which is another 20 minutes walk from the arts centre. I returned with bus 6 and I visited the commercial art gallery Galeri Quynh because the gallery is situated close to where I started my trip.
