- Germaine KopeBrooklyn, New York4 contributionsTa Hien Street, aptly nicknamed "Beer Street," offers an electric atmosphere after sunset. We loved sitting on tiny plastic stools, enjoying fresh beer and watching the world go by. The mix of locals and travelers created such a vibrant vibe. It's chaotic and crowded, but that's part of its charm. A must-visit for experiencing Hanoi's authentic nightlife.Visited November 2024Traveled as a coupleWritten November 18, 2024

- 周星Hong Kong, China6 contributionsThe small bars and stalls down the street offer authentic food and drinks that do give us a hint of the authentic Vietnamese touch. However, the number of tourists makes it difficult to find a quiet corner to enjoy this uniqueness. Although we tasted several local drinks, it wasn't particularly stunning. Overall, it's a great place for tourists who want to feel the nightlife, but don't expect too much.Visited December 2024Traveled as a coupleWritten December 25, 2024
- Mamie FHong Kong, China2 contributionsThe atmosphere is great, the bars and stalls are full of lively crowds. As a famous beer street, it feels great to have friends drinking beer together! The locals are also friendly and helpful, making us feel warm. Still, the streets are a little crowded, and sometimes it's hard to find a quiet place to rest. Overall, this is a place to experience!Visited December 2024Traveled with friendsWritten January 9, 2025
- Your Travel Buddy SGSingapore, Singapore31,740 contributionsA famous street in Hanoi where one can find many pubs, bars and drinking holes along the street. They even sat on the road with low chairs sipping ice cold beers. It was extremely busy and packed on a Saturday night and as I walked along, I was constantly bombarded with people touting. I found this rather unpleasant and tried to walk as fast as possible. It’s just not something for me but it’s strictly my opinion. I’m sure many will find this place interesting. For someone who’s not into drinking and loud music, this may not be the place for you. But I enjoyed walking along it, just once to soak in the bustling atmosphere.Visited June 2024Traveled as a coupleWritten June 16, 2024
- Maddie THong Kong, China2 contributionsThe street is a lively place, full of tourists and friendly locals. We tasted a variety of delicious beers in the small bar and the atmosphere was relaxed and pleasant. Although it is somewhat touristy, it is this enthusiasm that gives us a sense of Hanoi's unique charm. The night's lights and laughter were intertwined as if time had stood still. If you come to Hanoi, don't miss this vibrant beer street!Visited December 2024Traveled with friendsWritten January 15, 2025

Visited "beer street" in Hanoi's old quarter on a Saturday night.
Although we have watched it on YouTube, the crowed, loud technology music & every second vendor trying to drag you into their bar or restaurant was something that we are totally unprepared for.
Finally we sat down at Coco Bar for a drink, seems to have less people around that area, but still have to constantly fighting off street vendors trying to sell items to us, one of them was a kid looked under 10 yrs old selling cigarettes.
Definitely not our cup of tea!

This street is commonly known as Hanoi Beer street and is set in the northern part of Old Quarter. It comes alive at night with dozens of cafes, night clubs, eateries, massage parlors, etc....much reminding on such in Pattaya or Phuket.
Music is very loud, coming from every, tiny and small club one by another, so while walking you hear only unrecognizable mixed music noise.
We just walked through without any desire to sit somewhere, even our teenage daughter didn't like it.

Thế street that has incredible numbers and types of food eateries , bars , pubs , gift shops and even boutique hotels . Prices of items sold are value for money , good numbers of service staffs in the Outlets do speak English . Carnival like atmosphere after 6.30 pm right up to mid nite almost daily .

We visited a few places like this in Southeast Asia (Siem Reap, Phnom Penh, Saigon) and enjoyed the atmosphere, but this one is very disappointing and vulgar. The cacophony generated by the loudspeakers of the multitude of small bars competing as well as the flappers of the latter (which are more harassing than inviting) pushed us to cross it as quickly as possible and go have fun elsewhere. In addition, we were repeatedly asked what we were looking for by putting videos of young girls undressing under our noses. This is a shame because it projects a negative image of the city.

10 k beer is still available but only at few limited places. Most of busy street paying tourist prices for bottled beer. Busy and interesting but probably lot better places to eat. Loud techno and cigarette smoke if you like that.

I went there on a Friday and it was crowded with tourists and locals. Cars and motorbikes were passing by nearby so we had to sit and drink on the edge of the seats, music was blaring, people from all over the world, vendors... it was chaos. If you want to feel the power and heat of Asia, this is the place to go.

Every large Asian city that I have been too has something similar to this, and Ta Hien Street (Beer Street) in Hanoi is no different. Even though the area was packed, it was still a unique experience walking down the street with all the chaos around. This place is worth the effort to get to for a drink, enjoy some nightlife, or just walking the street while you are in the Old Quarter.

Food here was amazing, i loved the way they provided a can of margarine for each table. Each pan had aluminum foil to grill your food and they will change once it get burned. Infact when it was served my son looked at me with a question mark that are we here to cook or to eat. But I must confess it was amazing especially with such a happening street and lovely environment.
While planning for Ta Hien you should come a little early and see the Lake area and take stroll to Ta Hien.

This street is narrow, no vehicles allowed and has bars and pubs for beer. Its throbbing and full of laughter and music. A lovly place to hang out and have beer and the loal dishes served with a smile. Look out for promotions. $ 25 is good enough to drink enough beer and eat huge amounts of food. One beeer is $ 1.30. Must visit post 9 pm

We have eaten here twice and had a lot of drinks. Average price for local bottled beer is 30k no need to pay more. Main courses are 70-150k, vegetarian stuff available. Whether you want a quiet chat or to Rave, you will find something fun.
