We rented 2 150cc Honda XRs for 3 weeks, travelling from Hanoi to HCMC - price was ok, the bikes held up without issues and were in good condition. The staff was very helpful, answered any questions concerning routes and timeframe, handled the shipping of the luggage that i didn't want to take on the bike (my backpack got sent from Hanoi to the HCMC office) and generally was very responsive and helpful. Definitely recommended.

I rented a semi-automatic bike for 2 months from Rent A Bike, and the service was fantastic. Danny took me for a lesson on gear changing as it had been a while since I had ridden on a bike with gears. Each month the bike was serviced, and the one time I had a mechanical issue with the bike, it was fixed promptly. I also ended up buying a motorbike from Rent A Bike at the end of my rental period. They let me try a number of bikes over the course of a few days which I really appreciated as I was then sure I was buying a decent bike at a very fair price. I would totally recommend using Rent a Bike!

I've been renting from Rent A Bike Vietnam, from their Hanoi location, for almost two years now (since September 2018) The bike I use is running well, they provide maintenance on schedule they keep (and inform you when to bring the bike in), and are generally very nice and supportive.

I moved to HCMC recently and they offered to ship the bike for me too. My contract was extended, so I don't miss the days needed for transport. They also offered to deliver bike to my office, and collect it there for maintenance when needed, as their HCMC location is a bit out of my way. Great customer service. Based on my experience, I can only wholeheartedly recommend Rent A Bike Vietnam!

If you are looking for a trustworthy rental company when visiting or working in Hanoi then Rentabike should definitely be your first option. The staff are amazing. They always answer when you have an issue like needing help locating the nearest mechanic in case of a puncture. Most importantly, their bikes are good and out all the mates I have renting from them, none of them ever have major issues.

You could certainly find cheaper rentals elsewhere, but only if you’re willing to deal with bike problems week in week out.

Stay awesome

Myself and my partner hired 2 bikes from Rentabike for 4 weeks going from the north to south, and honestly couldn’t fault the service. Any questions that we had prior to booking were answered quickly with all the details we needed.

When we arrived in Han Oi, a quick grab taxi took us from our hotel in the old district to the rental office. When we arrived, the staff were so friendly, and Thu went over and above to accommodate us - initially we had requested 2 Honda XR150’s, however once we seen the height, it was clear the bike would be too big for my girlfriend. Thu had another bike prepared and ready in no time.

We were given everything we needed for the trip (helmet, security locks, bungee cords) and the staff even went through the map of Vietnam, highlighting top destinations, preferred routes, and also giving advice on driving, which helped lessen the chaos of the first drive back into Han Oi, if only slightly!

Through the trip we had no issues with the bikes as they had been well maintained. At the halfway point, we had to get an oil service in HoiAn, and Thu was on hand to provide support via WhatsApp to help find a suitable garage. She then talked to the mechanic for us, and set a price. This money was later returned to us along with our deposit for the bikes at the end of the trip.

Once we arrived in Ho Chi Minh, we simply text our address to Thu via WhatsApp, arranged a time and the bikes were collected and deposit returned in Dong (which was easily exchanged to dollars for our move into Cambodia)

When considering options for the trip, we were initially unsure about rental due to the cost that can’t be recuperated, unlike buying/selling. However, a lot of people we met along the way were having issues with their bikes (buying other peoples problems holds strong). The only money we were out of pocket, was 5usd for a cracked mirror that was our fault. Any mechanical faults would have been covered by RentABike and returned at the end.

If you are on the fence about buying or renting; consider RentABike Vietnam. It’s more than just hiring the wheels, you are also getting security, reliability, as well as guidance in country where you’ll be spending a lot of time going through beautiful, although rural backdrops. Having that support gave us the peace of mind to really enjoy the experience.

Our 4 weeks biking through Vietnam has been a once in a lifetime trip, and we can’t thank RentABike enough for accomodating us.

This was my second time renting a bike to travel in Vietnam. I had gone with this company because I was not refunded my $500 deposit from the previous company I rented with, and I liked the fact that Rent A Bike either accepted a deposit only in cash (unlike where I had previously rented from, which demanded credit card only) or passport. Communication from the moment I inquired was excellent.

Once I had paid for my rental and felt confident with the company, Danny was extremely helpful in helping me plan my route and gave me a variety of options. He went above and beyond with the planning, and I am very grateful for that. When I realized I had planned something incorrectly and needed a hotel in a random town ASAP, he was very quick to send me not only the names of a few options, but their GPS coordinates as well to ensure I arrived at one.

Only downside was I did not receive the bike I actually reserved due to being told a luggage rack could not fit on it, but because of the customer service I received from Danny I still think the company deserves a 5/5. I would not hesitate to rent from the again if I find myself on another motorbike trip in Vietnam, and I will definitely be recommending them to anyone I know who plans to do the same!

Julia, Thank you for leaving a review. I am happy that you felt you got good service and enjoyed the experience. I will look into the issue with the rear rack as we have many of these. They can be specific to each model but we usually have them in the shop or on another bike and we can take swap them. the staff should have communicated this to you more clearly. I will chase it up. I welcome you back for further trips and will be happy to help with route plans. Danny

I rented an automatic scooter from Rentabike on Dang Thai Mai street, Hanoi, for about a year. I'd never driven any kind of bike before, but Danny gave me a thorough lesson around Tay Ho's lake streets until I started to get more confident.

In one year I only had some minor issues with the bike - the battery sometimes died when I went away for a week and didn't use the bike. If I ever had an issue I just called or texted Rentabike and the staff got in touch promptly and sent someone to collect the bike. I was also given a temp bike to use while mine was being fixed.

The staff at the branch all speak good English and are friendly and helpful. I only have positive things to say about my experience with the commpany. When I return to Vietnam, I'll be sure to go back to them to rent another bike.

Thanks for the great service!

Great rental company. I have used their bikes long term when I lived in Vietnam as well as more recently on a holiday. The staff are very helpful, maintain the bikes to an extremely high standard and offer advice about travelling in Vietnam too, with very reasonable prices. Highly recommended.

As it was my first time in Vietnam, I wanted to explore Hanoi on a motorbike to get a glimpse of local living. I decided to take a day trip out to Ba Vi National Park, just west of the city. In doing so, I got to experience not only what it was like to be among the masses in the intense motorbike traffic flow, but observe the city, rural, and natural beauty of the area.

I was able to reserve a bike for next-day use very easily through the website. I was contacted via email within a few hours with directions to the shop, tips on what route to take out of the city for my Ba Vi trip, and received incredibly useful links on what riding mindset to maintain to survive in the craziness.

When I arrived, the staff were very friendly and supportive. I left the shop with high confidence in the route and my equipment. The trip went smoothly (navigation aside), and dropping off the bike was just as easy.

This will hands down be my go to bike shop for future Vietnam trips!

We had an absolutely terrible experience with Rent a Bike. The woman who works at the front desk was incredibly rude from the onset. The owner was also very difficult to deal with and made us waste a lot of time when we needed to exchange the faulty and fake bike they gave us. What he claims is a "Chinese Honda." At the end of our rental period, I wanted to return the bike early in the morning. They insisted that the bike had to be returned on the last evening, even though it made absolutely no difference to them. They then charged me an additional 200,000 VND for "petrol". I felt harassed, and I only paid the money because the woman was so rude and confrontational. Overall, it was very bad value for money and a really terrible experience trying to deal with the staff and owners. As you can see from the below review from my partner, the owner is still insisting that he gave us a genuine Honda. Instead of focusing on improving his business, he lays the blame on the customer. I am sure he will get some friends to write positive reviews after this is posted. Avoid this place at all costs!

Dear Escape.... Please see my response to the review below in which your partner calls us 'scam artists'. That outlines our position on the bike that he took from us. It was a genuine Honda XR150, made in China under license to Honda. I think we gave you a good bike, which was reliable and I spent a little time with you guys offering route advice. You had zero issues with your bike and it was a hassle-free rental. Regarding your complaints: Please be clear, you requested to return the bike the morning after your rental period ended. Your partner did this and paid the fee for the extra day's rental. You chose not to pay the extra fee and returned the bike on time. Simple. I am quite sure that the staff you mention was not rude when she warned you that we charged when the bike is returned without a full tank of fuel. We have a sign in the shop and we clearly tell every customer that we give them a full tank of fuel when they rent and we ask that they return the bike with a full tank. Like for like. If not, we charge. I am also sure that the staff told you that there was a fuel seller down the street where you could go and fill the tank and that it would be cheaper to do it this way. Either way is fine for us. My staff are kind, helpful people and deserve to be respected and spoken to politely. They go out of their way not to be rude and, in fact, none of us were rude to your or your partner even after he accused us of wrong doing. I wish I had enough friends who were willing to write positive reviews on this listing.
