I bought a motorcycle there and had absolutely no idea how to drive one.
They were very patient and spend a lot of time to show me how.
The best thing, as i had some problems on my bike after a week of driving, they fixed them for free.
Also very good English speaking guys.
Cheers guys!

A guy from this store went to the hostel where I was to show me the motorcycle. He seems to be a nice guy and also give you some informations. But he is a good actor, don't get fooled. Do not make business with them as I did. That's why I'm writing, to alarm you.

I paid 250 USD for a motorcycle that was supposed to be trustable. However, after driving 300k, I had to change the shock absorber (40 USD more). The oil was leaking all the time and the front wheel was off-axis. Really dangerous.

I have never been so scammed in my life. I was supposed to finish my trip in Ho Chi Minh, but the motorbike was falling apart in Da Nang.

So, if I can give you one honest advise, I say: do not buy a motorcycle there. It's not only about money, is about safety.

This is their main loacation. They also have another location more conveniently located in the old quarter at 43 Đào Duy Tù,Hoan Kiem in hanoi.with at least 50 to 60 bikes to choose fromThe really awesome thing is that if not sure how to get there they will pick you at your hotel, hostel free of charge. The western staff did make it easier and helped me feel comfortable when purchasing a bike for local city travel or for taking a road trip. Another added bonus was they added an extra rack for my traveling bag, bungie cables with a rain cover, a paper map, cell phone holder to avoid stopping to look at my gps & a helmet FREE of charge. Regardless if you want a automatic, semi-automatic or a manual motorbike/motorcyle. If you cant drive one...they will personally provide you with FREE lessons! The amount of concern and compassion from staff including a genuine concern for my financial and personal safety alone made the experience worth it alone.

And ask them for E.T.N. or Luke for native english speaker.

The guys here are awesome, they are really helpful and not pushy. They bent over backwards to make sure my brother and his friends had good safe bikes, knew how to drive (taught a couple of the guys in the group how to ride and made sure they were confident on the road) and provided back racks and straps for their road trip. Bikes were cheap and good! Highly recommend anyone wanting to get a bike to explore this amazing country, to visit Hanoi Motorcycles!!

I bought, as everyone does a Honda win copy at this place. I paid $330. After a little research I found that detech and Sufat are supposed to be the best brands, since they're Vietnamese "more reliable" copies of the original Honda win (which hasn't been built anymore since the 90s. Therefore I got a Detech (or at least one saying Detech on the outside). They said I have 2 months guarantee including free oil changes. So I went for a trip came back to have it "serviced". First they charged me for the oil change, but they fixed minor problems the bike had for free (stuff that wouldn't cost $2 probably). The main problem though, that I had, was the gearing and I went back to the store twice, telling them that it's a problem in the clutch. They would readjust, telling me that solves the issue which it didn't. They kept on saying that it isn't inside the gearbox, though I knew... When i left for the south, I had issues (as expected) after just a few hundred kilometres and had to spend like $30 on repairs. This didn't last for long. I'm in Cambodia now, where I'm again paying $35 to fix it but finally actually replacing the clutch discs, what they should have been doing in Hanoi already!! They'll sell you a bike, calling it serviced. This means tightening the brakes, changing oil and spraypainting it... They told me it was first registered in 2013. All mechanics I met so far laughed at me, saying it was probably built in the 80s, if lucky beginning of the 90s. Don't trust what they'll tell you, they buy bikes from backpackers for $100, "service" them, and resell them for 200 - 300$. They even said I could sell it in Cambodia for the same price, which I find out is impossible... Prices there are much lower. I have probably by now spent more than 150$ on repairs, and it will almost be a new bike when I'll sell it. My advice, get a semi automatic scooter, they're cheaper, more reliable and not 30 years old... There is a reason why no one except for backpackers ride those bikes!

I bought a motorbike from Hanoi Motorcycle and I am really happy with my experience! I was intending to travel to north and south Vietnam, they sold me for 335$ a 10 year old Honda Win 110cc bike that they had prepared for my travel: new tires, overall check, backpack rig, bungees, big plastic bag to put your backpack in, lock, phone holder, helmet... they gave me many advices about trafic laws in Vietnam, they fixed every little issue I felt on the bike... i have had some problems on the road (needed a new starter, tighten the clutch or the breaks, flat tire) but nothing serious and quite normal when you make a long trip. When I came back to Hanoi after my North loop, they made an overall check on the bike for free, as aftersale service. I got along really well with Luke, the seller, who speaks perfect English. They sell different kind of bikes: scooters, semi automatic, fully automatic, dirt bikes... I really recommend this shop to foreign backpackers who want to experience motorbike trips in Vietnam for cheap...

I bought an automatic scooter from them and it's a total piece of junk.
After 2 days of buying it I realised there were some minor problems, the light only worked 2 minutes and then went black and the exhaust pipe was backfiring. At first they didn't want to fix it saying it was nothing but I insisted and they finally agreed to fix the backfiring, which I realised later was not true, they just pretended to do something about it. As for the light the seller told me there were no problem with it and that I didn't need to drive at night anyway!
The first long stretch of road I did I ended up in the middle of nowhere with no power, the scooter couldn't move forward anymore, and of course the night came and I had no light, that was only the beginning of my problems.
This scooter is just too old and everything is breaking apart. They told me it was the best one for me, with good power and perfect for a trip up the mountains. They seemed nice at first telling me that if I had a problem I could come back and they would fix it and that if I was too far I could call them and they would try to help me, this is totally untrue. I cannot do more than 50 km without having a problem. I will soon have spend more money on repairs than on the bike itself. When I tried to call them to tell them about the problems they told me I got what I paid for and it was probably my fault...

While the staff was very friendly, the bike was absolutely horrible! They convinced us we needed an automatic 150cc bike for $350, without telling us said bike was almost completely broken, had no power, multiple parts dead, and impossible to repair in Vietnam since it is rarely driven here.

On the drive from Hanoi to Ho Chi Minh, we stopped at minimum 2 mechanics per day (about 30 total) and spent over $100 on repairs. Every mechanic told us the bike was worthless and never driven in Vietnam.

Drives that were supposed to be 3 hours ended up being 10 because of all the stops at mechanics.

Somehow, we made it to Ho Chi Minh. But, since we (unlike this company) are honest people, we refused to sell it to some other poor backpackers and leave them with the same problems we had. Instead, we searched for a company in HCM to buy it, and could not find a buyer for more than $50.

Overall, including repairs, we lost over $400 on this bike (SYM excel). Although I can't say for certain the staff was aware at the beginning, we were informed that they had a mechanic make sure everything was in working order, which was clearly false. They also told us we would be able to sell it for the same price in HCM, when every mechanic we saw on the way said they wouldn't even pay 1 million dong for it. On top of that, they were not upfront about how rare this bike is in Vietnam and how difficult it is to repair here.

Save yourself time, money, and frustration - go somewhere else.

I first visited Hanoi Motorbike in March 2015 with a small group of friends who were looking to purchase motorbikes to travel throughout Vietnam. There, I met the owner, Khuong, who was incredibly helpful and friendly and spoke English fluently. He and his staff were patient and attentive, answered all of our questions and set us up with bikes that took us from Hanoi to Saigon and everywhere between. Vietnam is an amazing country, and we had an incredible adventure! My scooter was in excellent condition, and gave me virtually no problems on my six week journey.

I fell in love with Vietnam (and my sweet little Yamaha Nuovo with blue rims) in the two months that I traveled through it, and that prompted my decision to move to Hanoi in July of 2015. I was eager to purchase a new scooter to drive around my new city, and Hanoi Motorbike was my first stop after arriving back in Hanoi. It was great to return to the bike shop that had created so many unforgettable memories for my friends and I.

Khuong let me rent a couple of bikes to test drive, and I eventually purchased my second scooter from his shop in August. I have been living in Hanoi since, and I regularly return for oil changes, check-ups, and I always bring friends here who are looking to buy or rent a bike in the city. It's great to see that the business is growing!

Mike and Bernardo are very helpful, and the Vietnamese staff always do a great job tuning my bike. The customer service is great, and the prices are fair. My experiences here have only been good ones.

I'm so happy I discovered a business as great as Hanoi Motorbike. The staff here are exceptional and I wish them much success in the years to come.
