A place you cannot miss if you are an art lover or if you want to know more about Vietnamese contemporary art. It's very close to St. Joseph Cathedral, but you need to find the right number 24. There's a few number 24, you should go to the big corridor, behind Thegioididong phone shop and go to 2nd floor. It worth your effort finding it because inside that area is a big quiet space, very different from noisy shops facing the street.
and if you are lucky you will meet Suzanne Lecht, an American woman who has been living in Vietnam for 21 years and will give you wonderful stories about art in Vietnam.

I was a fan of Art Vietnam Gallery when it was located in Nguyen Khac Nhu street. Then, the gallery moved to a beautiful-but-too-too-too-far place and I couldn't visit as frequently as I like. Luckily, the new place is right in the heart of Hanoi, few minutes walk from the Cathedral, inside 2 or 3 blocks which used to be a state-run printing workshops. The big common yard between the blocks is ideal for motorbike parking (parking is something like nightmare or impossible mission in Old Quarter of Hanoi!). The gallery and its ladies always make me feel that I'm in an oasis, escaped from the noisy streets and other too-commercial-and-touristy galleries. Tranquil, full of Vietnamese contemporary works, full of inspiration.

This beautiful gallery is a truly authentic art experience. We sought it out after it was highly recommended by a friend. The gallery is tucked away near the Cathedral in Hanoi. All the art is by Vietnamese artists from across the country. Suzanne, the Art Director, will happily share the stories of each artist and how their pieces came to be. A wonderful experience if you want to connect with the beauty and motivations of Art in Vietnam. You will find paintings, sculpture, photography and more. Don't forget to sign the guest book...even the paper is a work of art. A can't miss stop in Hanoi for any art, culture and history lovers.

If you appreciate Contemporary Vietnamese Art, Art Vietnam may have the best collection of artists in Vietnam, certainly in Hanoi. Be sure to also visit Chula Fashion next door run by Diego Chula.

Art Vietnam Gallery is one of the places you simply need to stop by if you are visiting Hanoi or living here. Not only does it have a great selection of artwork carefully curated, but it is also located in a beautiful space shared by other businesses worth visiting.

You can find this gallery near St. Joseph s Cathedral, at the address stated in tripadvisor. You can access it by entering a sort of cool tunnel with decorating graffitis, and a sign that says "Art Vietnam Gallery". Then you will find a big patio, and stairs. The gallery is situated in the second floor.

Concerning the artwork that this gallery features, it is worthwhile mentioning that it includes mainly Vietnamese artists, but also some international ones. In order to find more about the artists represented and different exhibitions, I suggest you to check Art Vietnam Gallery s website or its Facebook page.

On the whole, not to be missed. Go for it!

Wandering in area next to the cathedral, stumbled across this excellent contemporary art space having been enticed in by its neighbour, Laca.

Really enjoyed encountering contemporary artists, and was really impressed by the quality and range of this venture.

A worthwhile detour from the heritage sites too.

Hello Chris101111, I am sorry to know you didn't find us. We are actually there, on 2nd floor of 24 Ly Quoc Su street. Joma Bakery is number 22. There are more than 1 number 24 and our logo sign is next to the orange sign, between the mobile phone shop and the fashion shop. Thank you for letting us know. We will try to make it easier with a bigger sign.
