Definitely not a tourist destination
Oct 2020 • Solo
Dark and lifeless ground floor. Not suitable for shopping unless you are looking to purchase liquor.

However, there are a few fruit stalls opposite the building so if you are looking at buying a fruit hamper to visit a friend's place, this might be a good grab-and-go option. Prices ranges from 500,000 VND to 1,500,000 VND.

Not worth going
Dec 2019 • Solo
Hang Da is close by to my hotel, so wanted to check it out. Went there and left within 5 minutes. I would say it has the Same stuff that other stores are selling. Not worth going in my opinion.

Ok market
Jun 2019
Ok market, not great but it is possible to get most things here. Not as pushy or grabby as other markets I visited. Seems to be mainly geared to locals but worth a look nevertheless.

Decrepit
Jun 2019 • Family
Well it’s apparently historical, but goodness what a decrepit place. We went in and stayed for the airconditioning because there was literally nowhere else (AC is an unfamiliar concept in Old Quarter). We didn’t visit the basement, but the first floor is definitely not even worth taking a peek at.

Difficult to get around
Nov 2018
This is a very busy market with very narrow alleys between the stalls. Goods of a similar nature are located together for example shoes/souvenirs/clothing The vendors were quite pushy and I felt I did not want to stop sometimes and look at goods as the pestering nature of the sellers was not a pleasure. A pity as I am sure I past by a lot of interesting things

Absolute Rubbish
Aug 2018 • Friends
Don’t waste you time going into this market. Walked in, walked right back out. There’s so many options to buy goods in Hanoi without going near this place.

Read some online guide (hotel.com) and this was on the recommendation. Details were all outdated. The clothing shops are now and level 1 and basement. The clothing and shoes looked like its preloved and they are all one piece each. Designs are not nice and not suitable so did not even ask for price.

Ghost Town
Aug 2018 • Couples
We went to this market during our time in Hanoi as recommended by a guide I had read online. The place was an absolute ghost town. The only people you could see was the security guard, my partner and I. The escalators were all switched off. The lights weren't on. Truly bizarre. We went during the middle of the day on the weekend when the market was supposed to be in full swing, so we were very much surprised to find no one there.

Basically closed
Apr 2018 • Solo
There were maybe 20 stalls open and not a single person spoke to me the entire time. I was the only person there who wasn’t a shop owner. Extremely odd and creepy atmosphere. Probably used to be cool but has lately become a ghost town.
