Perfectly organized by "A Taste of Hanoi" and excellently executed by our Cambodian tour guide Mr. Kim Hoeun. Mr. Kim speaks perfect English and has a lot of background knowledge about the country.

The tour was a great mixture of culture, nature (activity) and relaxation, just as we had wished for. The guide reacted very flexibly to our spontaneous change requests the tour program. The accommodations were always clean and well equipped, the transport was well organized.

Highlights of the trip included Phnom Phen and the Royal Palace, Kampong Cham and the historic temples from the time before Angkor, Kampong Chnang and the floating villages, the national parks in Kirirom and Chi Phat for hiking and cycling, the island of Koh Rong Sonleum and Kompot with its pepper plantations and Rabbit Island.

We enjoyed the trip very much and can only recommend the travel agency A Taste of Hanoi. Last but not least the price was very fair and reasonable. Thanks a lot!

I recently did the Hanoi Secret Coffee VIRTUAL tour and to be honest I was really very pleasantly surprised. The tour was a gift actually and my expectations of an online 'virtual' coffee tour of Hanoi weren't high, to be honest.

How wrong was I? The tour was really good and a very welcome escape from the current lockdown problems. Our guide Nikkita was fantastic. Nothing was too much trouble and she happily answered all our dumb touristy questions with a smile. As well as being funny and easy-going, she was also incredibly knowledgable. Thanks to her, our virtual tour was not only fun but surprisingly informative especially for a coffee lover like myself. Nikkita didn't only show us how coffee is made in Hanoi, she fully explained and demonstrated each step of how we can make our own Vietnamese coffee here in our own homes which was an unexpected bonus.

Our tour was a morning tour (Vietnam time), so nice and convenient for me given the time difference and took us through the back streets of Hanoi to places that we would never have found ourselves even if we were really there in Hanoi. Top tip - the last stop is great!

Highly recommended, especially for the low price and we can't wait to get out to Vietnam in the real world to enjoy an actual tour with Nikkita and compare the real Vietnamese coffee against my own efforts made at home.

What an amazing tour! My girlfriend and I had an absolute blast. From start to finish Brian wowed us with his knowledge of Hanoi history, sprinkling in favorite food stops that only the locals know. If you book only one tour, make it this one!

Highly recommended!

Saw this virtual tour on Facebook and i thought it was quite interesting. Turned out the virtual tour is not only informative but very exciting. The guide has brought us around Hanoi live, walking around the streets in the Old Town and even bringing us to interact with locals. There are more than just Hanoian style coffee in this tour. Appreciate that the guide has introduced and linked every style of coffee to not only the origin and taste profile but also the culture and history behind the beans. Well done, absolutely worthy and exciting experience.

Vietnamese Coffee Making Class - What a fabulous way to spend an hour and a half! Anyone who likes to cook, likes coffee, or is interested in Vietnam - this tour is for you!

Leader Le Hoang (Jude) taught us how to use the distinctive Vietnamese coffee maker with filter, filled us in on the history of coffee growing and making in Vietnam, all while being a hugely entertaining fellow. His classes are usually on weekend mornings EST. Great value, great experience!

A Taste of Hanoi has always offered unique tours in this unique country - and now we can all enjoy it online from the comfort of our armchairs as the pandemic subsides.

Having never joined a virtual tour before, this was a real eye-opener. Both when it comes to coffee making and drinking, but not least getting a glimpse of Vietnamese living and culture. Cong was an excellent guide, knowledgeable in both coffee and his nation's culture and history. Also, he involved and engaged us "tourists" in a both humorous and serious way. From the comfort of our own sofa, we now feel that we have been in Hanoi, wanting to learn more and hopefully come visit one day.

Many thanks to Brian and my guide Cong for this excellent virtual secret coffee tour of Hanoi. Cong is well versed on the history of coffee and is also a Hanoi native, making this virtual tour entertaining and enjoyable at the same time. The coronavirus has hit the whole world hard especially those working on the frontline but also people working in the tourism industry so I was glad to help out A Taste of Hanoi and encourage others to do so by taking part in this thoroughly enjoyable virtual tour from the safety of your own home! It made me want to return to this wonderful city and country as soon as I can.

Loved our food tour! Our group of friends (we were a total of 4 couples) had such a great time.

Brian (the person behind the FB chat) and Nikkita (our tour guide) were SUPER!!! Brian listened to our special requests (food preferences/dietary restrictions) and offered great suggestions. Brian was prompt to reply to all my questions and was very easy to communicate with as he is a native English writer.

Nikkita was punctual, warm and welcoming. I particularly loved that she really took the time to share her beautiful culture and history of certain spots. For instance, why you’ll only notice men sipping tea at certain locations or pointing out a popular women’s hangout. Loved that she took us to the East Gate where she shared some history and enjoyed a seasonal treat (omelet with worms!) I didn't mentally prepare for that one, but it was no biggie as I didn't see them or taste them. We all learned so much (so the history buffs were happy) that went beyond Vietnamese cuisine. Our tour went over by about an hour because we were having so much fun and did some shopping along the way (which Nikkita helped us out with a bit of haggling 😉) and at no point did we feel rushed by her. I could tell she was having a good time too. It was so convenient to arrive at a new spot and have her order and pay while we socialized. Overall, we were very happy with the tour and are planning to request a customized kids edition tour in the near future.

Fun Fact: Nikkita runs Hidden Hanoi cooking classes out of her home. Check them out too! My son has taken a class with her and absolutely loved it. He also learned how to properly use a sharp knife and clean up his work area. Didn’t go in one ear and out the other! Thanks Nikkita!

PRO-TIP#1: If you are moving to Hanoi, do a food tour upon arrival so you can enjoy and discover as much of the local food as you can during your time here. You won’t be disappointed!

PRO-TIP#2: Don’t eat everything at the first couple of stops. Eat ½ or ¼ of what you are being offered…and wear comfortable shoes!

Cong was an awesome tour guide. Really enjoyed the 5 coffee shop tour and details of each visit. The virtual trip by motor scooter with Cong talking you through each stop makes you feel
Like you are there. The types of coffee’s and the back and forth questions and answers from the folks in zoom was great. It was a nice way to end my day here in the US and gave me hope for traveling again one day soon.

Can’t thank Brian enough for the perfect balance of eating, drinking, beautiful views, Hanoi cultural info, basic Vietnamese phrases... you name it, it was perfect! We did “one Night in Hanoi”, after such a great night we’ve just booked the “Craft Beer Tour”. So much laughing and great memories, just an amazing night!
