About
Ninh Binh – The Gem of Vietnam Lying south of the Hanoi on the edge of the Red River Delta, Ninh Binh is increasingly popular among those seeking a genuine experience of Vietnam outside of the urban centers. While Ninh Binh is on flat terrain, just outside of town is a large area of limestone Karts Mountains. Today, this uniquely scenic geography is a major part of many visitor activities. Here, you can sit back for a boat ride tracing a stream running through rice fields backed by the steep walls of surrounding Karst Mountains. The stream has formed passageways through the limestone itself, allowing you and your boat to duck carefully underneath massive mountains and pop out into the sun again on the other side. Cycling is another popular activity, with inviting pathways running into narrow valleys to reach hidden temples and surprising caves. Win Win Travel is offering exclusive 2 days and 1 night tour package for a reasonable price. Come and visit the Gem of Vietnam.

Plucked right from the heavens, you walk directly into a painting. A place where time stands still and you loose track of your to-do list and the noise of the outside world. It demands you to be present. Win-Win Travel was the best company to escort me on this incredible journey. Smiley David greeted me at my hotel promptly at 07:15 and began the adventure from there. With one additional couple to join we had a small, intimate group to see some of the most beautiful landscapes I have seen with the naked eye. The boat trip following our hike up to the Dragon was a short and enjoyable bike ride after a delicious lunch served at the bungalow. I was in awe (still) at the stunning sights and the power of the woman (and men) rowing boats with their feet instead of their arms! A trip to the local market and a bike ride back to the bungalow was not complete without a cooking lesson from the locals! Spring Rolls were delicious and lovingly made by hand. I cannot recommend this company and trip enough!! Don't miss it while visiting the Hanoi area! PS: they have gorgeous Home Stays in the area and I highly recommend spending a few days vs. one to really soak in the charm and beauty of this area. Keep a look out for King Kong! ;)

Our visit to Ninh Binh provided us with two very beautiful and unique experiences. The ride on a small boat rowed by a local resident through the karst mountains and natural caves was as unique an experience as one can get. It is a UNESCO World Heritage site and deservedly so. For our second adventure, my husband did the trek to Mua Cave and the incredible views from the top, while I chose to wander the park below and have a fresh fruit smoothie while doing some people watching. We both greatly enjoyed our experience.

The tour and guide provided to us through Jack at Win Win Travel were excellent. Our guide was friendly, easy going and knowledgeable, and Jack was always available to help us if we had questions during our three week trip to SE Asia, that he helped us plan. Thanks Jack!!

We booked the day trip to ninh binh from Hanoi , we was collected at 830 and from there it was a 2 hour coach ride to the first stop.
We visited the king tombs and temple, they were very pretty and the history is very interesting. Ladies will need to cover up there knees so there is wrap round skirts available free of charge.
Next stop was lunch, a buffet was offered in a large venue with free WiFi, drinks were chargeable.
Next we went onto the river for the boat ride and to visit the caves. There are so many boats and it’s a maximum of 3 people per boat, the rower will take you down the 6km river route rowing with hands and feet!
The caves are really cool as you just fit through them with the height.
Before the boat turns round there is some boat traders waiting to attack, we said no as they tried to make you buy a drink or food for the rower.
On our way back near the end of the trip the rower was already asking for tip, the guide said $1-2 maximum or 50,000 Vietnamese dong. The rower said 100,000 but we ignored this and gave her what we thought was right.
Next was the bicycle ride, this was a lovely route down the road with incredible views then round the back streets across the beautiful scenery, there is a chance to stop for photos.
Our tour guide Jenny was amazing! Very knowledgeable and the tour is a must especially as it’s only a day

well looked after by our excellent guide Thao, she has enormous enthusiasm and energy for her task. Ninh Binh and Tam Coc has many other attractions within a few hours, or less, drive and can operate as a base for tours all over the place. This tour was very well managed. One aspect troubled us and that was our guide was required to accompany us on the bus back to Hanoi and then make her own way back home, wherever that may be, but in our guide's case in Ninh Binh itself. This was a completely unnecessary requirement and caused us distress knowing that she had to make a pointless trip. It is unknown if this is a company or government requirement, whichever it serves no purpose to anyone

Ninh Binh is an interestingly fascinating place, located in northern Vietnam. Exceptionally serene landscape and an inspiring scenery, Ninh Binh offers you a sneak peek into the rural and authentic Vietnam.

With a travel time of about 2-2:30 hours (depending upon the traffic while leaving the city), Ninh Binh is definitely a must do places in Vietnam.

Ninh Binh has in itself a lot of attractions, so if you have a leisure day, you could also plan for a night stay at Ninh Binh, however, we only did a day tour and it seemed good enough to explore the place.

Ancient Pagodas, Lotus, lakes, caves, rice fields, sprawling green landscapes, mountains are some of the beautiful scenes you can witness in Ninh Binh.

After visiting two ancient pagodas and climbing on the top of Hung Mua temple in Tam Co (500 steps from the ground level), we came to the best part of the trip - Trang An.

A little about the mountain climb first, its a touch climb and there are two temples situated on two ends of the mountain, you can either choose to go right and then left or just do one side, but the climb is totally worth it. Resting on the top of the mountain at the temple is a dragon. you meet one when you start climbing your steps too. Dragon is considered sacred in Vietnam along with turtle, Unicorn and phoenix. A symbol of prosperity and power and you will find dragons almost every where in Vietnam. The view once you reach the top is almost breathtaking and is amazingly beautiful from both ends of the mountain. From the top of the temple, the views over Tam Coc lake are beyond stunning.

After the mountain climb it was time for lunch and some cycle ride. The cycle ride along the county side of Ninh Binh, took us to Trang An. A hop on a small rowing boat and a journey of 2 hours. The lady rower takes you on a 2-hour journey through caves and lakes.

We booked a day tour on Win Win Travel and the professionals that they were, they also made sure we were given cushions to keep us comfortable while we were sitting on the aluminum rod of the boat. the cushions also gave great comfort where you actually end up sleeping in the boat when the boat travels through dark low caves.. Its one of the most beautiful and peaceful experiences you can ever get.

After this wonderful experience, we visited another beautiful pagoda - Bai Dinh Pagoda. This Buddhist temple is very huge and is saif to be visited by the local Vietnamese more often than any other temple. This Pagoda has three temples carved over the other (almost). Another climb of around 200 steps on the limestone mountain is a beautiful experience. Three temples with three different purpose of visits. One frequented by childless couples, the second by students who pray for good luck in exams and higher education and the third visited by businessman for prosperity and luck.

The tour ended with a cooking class, where we learnt to make the traditional Vietnamese spring rolls.

All in all a day well spent.

We did the one day trip to Ninh Bihn with our two kids 12 and 9 years old. We all loved it. We had time to do so much, boat tour, cycling.... the area is fantastic and you really must try to go here during your visit in Vietnam. The tour operator is very professional and makes all to be the first everywhere so you mustn’t wait behind the other groups. We were only 6 in our group which was great and we ha a personal trip. Léo the guide was smiling all the time and was very helpful and nice and loved explaining about Vietnam’s history.

I cannot recommend this day tour to Nihn Binh highly enough.
From the hundreds of tour operators available to choose from in Hanoi, I eventually chose to use the fantastic team at Win Win travel, as they where the first to respond to my enquiry, and also stood out as the most professional, offering a caring, personal and inviting service.
Jack , and the team where extremely informative throughout my initial enquiry to experiencing my day tour itself.
Jack is fluent in English, and presents with a great energy and enthusiasm, that gives the whole trip a great energy, and takes it to a new level.
Nothing was to much trouble for Jack and his team, and I noted they where happy to accommodate everyone's preferences on the day, e.g., those who prefer to just sit back and chill to those who wanting to jump in for a totally energetic experience.
One of the best tours I have experienced in my now third trip to Vietnam.
This day trip was a highlight of my visit to Hanoi, a five star experience from a five star team!!

We had a wonderful stay at a lovely bungalow in a small village with nice people and delicious food.
Strongly recommended the Thung Nham River boat trip.
We highly recommend Jack's tour. He is a very friendly, knowledgeable guy who will give you a wonderful and unforgettable trip
