This is a chance to meet generous and welcoming people in their home and take away a little insight into Vietnamese culture and cooking.

We were cooking in their home place, so it gave me an insight of their living and cooking. The receipies were typicially vietnames and really tasty. Lovely chef and guide!

There is no better way to learn more about the culture and citizens of a place than through their cuisines. The cooking session organised by Hue was fun and memorable. Lots of laughters, coupled with the pairing of good food and company made that afternoon the highlight of my trip to Hanoi.
I am humbled that Hue and her family opened their home to me for a night of homecooked meal. May they be blessed abundantly for the kindness they have bestowed upon me and many others. God bless you Hue.

I suppose to have dinner with this family my first day in Hanoi. They suppose to pick me up at 6:30pm and after waiting for 30 min. I sent them a message just to confirm the time. They replied back an hour later saying that they were too busy and forgot about my booking. I would have never heard from them if I didn't reach out. I was very disappoint but got full refund.

We had a great time with Hue, her husband, and Ahn. We were accommodated in a Oast minute evening tour. Ahn was our guide and host, and took us to the local market for ingredients. Her English is excellent and she was enthusiastic not just about cooking but meeting foreigners. The class took place in Hue's home. We made green papaya salad, fresh fried spring rolls, cucumber salad. We also helped make pho ga, which, due to the nature of the dish, was already on the burner when we got there. She also had some other dishes like la lot, stir fried morning glory, and another pork dish. Ahn happily showed us back to the local night market at our request. Overall, this was a wonderful experience!

Totally awesome experience. Ms Hue Pham is a very dynamic, funny, and entertaining person. She and her friends and relatives teach you how to cook several Vietnamese dishes and then everyone eats what you cooked. However, there is a ton of other dishes that suddenly appear on the table and it becomes a feast. And then drinking starts: you drink rice "wine" (which is about 30 to 40% alcohol) all together. And then different varieties of this wine appear - a large bottle with gekkos on the bottom, then the one with bees, then the one made out of sticky rice, etc, etc. So, if you like great food and a lot of drinking - this is the place for you. And all this occurs in a small room and even a smaller kitchen in her apartment with tons of her friends and relatives. Very memorable experience.

I had a great time at Hue's cooking class. It couldn't have been better! Rose and Phuong Anh did an amazing job. They picked me up from my hostel perfectly on time and showed us a nice market where they explained all vietnamese ingredients to us. Both of them are super nice and charming and there englisch level is top!
I really enjoyed the conversations about Vietnamese culture whilst cooking. Phuong Anh answered all of my 1000 questions! ;)
The food was amazing as well. Hue Pham is a very good cook and supported us a lot.
I really enjoyed the time with you 3!!! Thank you so much for that experience!!!

I had wanted to do a cooking experience whilst in Hanoi but was reluctant to do a typical hotel/restaurant kitchen class. I could not have found a better alternative. This is not just a a cooking class but a cultural education. Walking the local streets to the market armed with a shopping list and Tony the guide we picked up the necessary ingredients. Saw many things along the way I would not have seen if in a hotel class. Directed to Hue's family and very local apartment where she was waiting to share her cooking knowledge. It was not like a class but more like a morning with friends preparing food together to share afterwards. We laughed, we chopped, I was shown how to make the perfect spring roll along with other delicious delights, with a large knife I 'peeled' a decorative rose from a tomato and just felt very at home and welcomed. Once cooked we shared stories around the table and got to taste the delicious and amazing 'happy water' - home made sticky rice wine. Family members dropped by and said 'hello' and was just as if I had known everyone for a very long time. I arrived as a cooking student and left as a friend. Hue is a very special person and know her husband is very lucky to have such a wonderful cook for a wife. A great insight into real life in Hanoi and truly recommend this experience. Enjoy!

We had expected to be given a short lesson in the art of spring-roll making; what we got was a genuine welcome into a Vietnamese home... and we learnt how to make the spring rolls too.
Short trip to the market to stock up on ingredients, then into the home of our hostess where she soon had us chopping, rolling and frying. The meal was great, the hospitality outstanding, and the experience priceless.
Heartily recommended
