Park Area

This is a well-kept green space in Hanoi with a statue of Vladimir Lenin.

Locals hang out here playing card games and sports. Tourists stroll through the park with their children in pushchairs and enjoying the shade of the trees.

Worth a visit if you’re passing by or in the area.

Reunification Park

Walking along the busy multi-lane road towards Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum we saw across the road Lenin Park, due to the vehicle traffic we did not venture to cross. At the front of the park was a statue of the Russian Vladimir Lenin representing the Vietnamese allegiance to Leninism . Where the park stands today once was a dumping ground but in the late 1950s it was reclaimed and regenerated in a large public park also known as the green lungs of the city.

The rare green space of Hanoi
Nov 2018 • Family
Thong Nhat /Lenin park is one of the very rare place to escape the hustling of Hanoi, and it's located right in the centre. Walk through the door, with the ticket couldn't be cheaper, you will leave behind all the noise and polution.
We often walk our dog here , there are people doing exercise, running, aerobic, yoga, and many other type of sports that you could inmagine .
Drinks and snack are sold everywhere.
Public toilets are filthy, but they are existed.

Small park with plenty of shade
Aug 2018 • Friends
The park is pleasant and offers some welcome shade plus a spot to have some lunch if you’ve bought some. Tucked in behind the statue of Lenin.

Further reinforcement to the importance of communist history to maintain the state, but just a nice outdoor space for most people.

Very Cool Statue

Unless you are into history, I would not go out of your way to go to this park. However, if you are like me, and love Communist art and statues, you cannot pass up a chance to see this statue of Lenin.

The real Thong Nhat Park
Mar 2018 • Friends
These reviews would be more useful if they were talking about the right park, but most are referring to Lenin Park instead of Thong Nhat which is about 20 mins walk south from there.
Thong Nhat is a large park containing a lake comparable in size to Haon Kiem Lake in the old quarter. It is not far from the rail station. It's a pleasant green space with pathways and is popular with joggers and you will find a lot of people fishing in the lake.
There are not many facilities but there are a few places selling soft drinks and ice creams where you can sit and enjoy the scenery. There are several toilet blocks but not very clean.
There are a lot of attractions for children including a narrow gauge railway and swan boats, but these were not operating when we were there; perhaps they are seasonal or only work at weekends.
There are no statues of Lenin but there is one of Hồ Chí Minh meeting Tôn Đức Thắng on an island in the lake.
Entry is 4000 vnd.

Small triangular park
Dec 2017 • Friends
It is offering benches and a bustling plaza overseen by a Lenin statue. One can always feel the diversity and liveliness of Hanoi there. In the morning, there are low-energy aerobics class for the elders and aerobic class for younger in the morning. In the afternoon, it becomes a playground for children and students as well as for soccer teams and badminton players.
